The shop is meticulous, and the mechanics are knowledgeable and thorough. Michael and Paul carefully review the repairs with you and keep you informed every step of the way. They do all of the work on my wife’s 2010 MINI COOPER AND ON MY 64 PORSCHE 356C. In short, these gentlemen can be trusted.

Turning Wrenches knows how to provide outstanding customer service, and the mechanics do mighty fine work. I took my 2018 Audi Q5 to them for brake noise. They gave my car a thorough inspection while there and discovered a coolant leak that I (knew about but) did not mention to them. A year prior, the local Audi dealership had looked at it and wrote in the summary that there was no evidence of my coolant complaint. That example speaks to the level of care Turning Wrenches gave to my vehicle. The front brakes and rotors were replaced for less money than Audi had quoted, and my car is now super quiet when coming to a stop; she's like new again! I plan to have the slow coolant leak repaired soon, in addition to some overdue maintenance. The communication from Turning Wrenches was amazing. They gave me timely updates, emailed a report with photographs, went over the report with me, and gave me options for next steps. The after-hours drop off and pick up is very convenient as well, and the cookies were a delicious little surprise. It gives me such peace of mind to finally have a mechanic that is kind, professional, respectful, trustworthy, and provides quality service. WOW!

Our car was due for an oil change and the check engine light had been on for a few months. We took it to the dealership to have it serviced. Thank God someone referred us to Turning Wrenches. After almost getting completely ripped off by the dealership, (Still overpayed for an oil change and diagnostic check. Never again!) we took it to Turning Wrenches for a second opinion. Wow! Talk about service! Best customer service I have experienced anywhere for anything, bar none! Michael was very friendly. They ran a thorough diagnostic and safety analysis, sent us pictures of everything they found, and ran through it with us step by step! I’m a repeat customer, and don’t trust anyone else to work on my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire. They provide a very detailed inspection report, supplemented with pictures and even videos when necessary. I’m able to pick and choose the repairs to have done at any given time. This time around, I went all in and had them cherry the car out from top to bottom. I plan to keep this car and enjoy it when I retire, and thanks to Turning Wrenches, I know it’s safe and they have it purring like a kitten. 5 stars!!!

Turning Wrenches recently serviced my Audi. I have always taken my vehicle to the Audi dealership to be serviced. Then a friend who also has an Audi referred me to Turning Wrenches. The customer service was night and day. They made me feel comfortable the moment I walked in. At the dealership you feel like you’re just another number and that car is always needing something from their up selling techniques. Turning Wrenches inspected my vehicle and clearly explained what was needed. They also sent me pictures of what they inspected. Their prices were affordable compared to the Audi dealership. Last but not least after I paid the invoice, there was a personal bottle of water and some fresh cookies for the road. I strongly recommend Turning Wrenches for all of your vehicle servicing needs. Someone recommend to take my car over here. I was afraid at first however after reading. Reviews I’ll give it a go. And it exceed my expectations. They checked the whole car and told me what was needed to be repair and the cost. And they told me it could wait as long as i needed. So they did my car service, they changed the oil. I hope I can get back in the next month to start fixing the next things on the car. At the end I got some cookies and water and the follow up was great.

Took my 2017 540i here and it was worth every penny. They send you an amazing link that details all things they recommend doing, what it good as of now, and things to keep track of on your vehicle. I’ve seen a handful of dealers that do this but, the customer service at Turning Wrenches is what really sets them apart. They follow up with you each day while they have your vehicle and you have the satisfaction of knowing that you’re dealing with professionals who have been in the business. I’ve taken 2 of my previous 540i’s to BMW for normal work and while they do great work, I cannot stand the customer service there. Highly recommend Turning Wrenches for any and all auto services. Michael was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was able to talk through the diagnostic report that was provided to me (emailed to me with explanations and pictures) and helped to determine which repairs were necessary immediately and which could be monitored and repaired at a later date. He was easy to get a hold of and coordinating service time and pick up was easy and stress free. My car felt like a brand new car upon pick up! I can't say enough good things about this shop! First of all, it was the cleanest auto repair shop i've ever seen! Levi was very professional and maintained excellent communication with me throughout the entire time my car was there. I had a problem with my battery power draining. They did a "parasitic draw" test and discovered the problem right away. The cost of their services was extremely reasonable and they had my car back to me very quickly! I highly recommend them for import repairs/maintenance. Located at Frankfort Ave and Mellwood. Sunroof would not close completely. They gave me a choice: fix it so I could use it which would be very expensive or close it and not open it again. My 2008 BMW X3 had the service light come on accompanied by a significant vibration halfway thru the 8hour drive from Indianapolis to Atlanta. Went to Turning Wrenches based on excellent reviews and I clearly found out why. The front desk was very accommodating to the fact we were mid trip and took a look at the car ASAP. They quickly diagnosed the problem and let us know it how long it would take to fix plus suggested a nearby restaurant to eat at which turned out to be excellent. Less than an hour later we were back on the road with a smooth running car. Turning Wrenches also left bottles of water and a bag of chocolate chip cookies as a parting gift. Overall it was the best customer service I've ever received at an Auto Shop. They have My HIGHEST recommendation.

I tried to work with my insurance and they were not helpful and wanted to put used parts into my car, but the mechanics here helped get me a price under my deductible so I didn't even need insurance. Found Turning Wrenches as an alternative to high dealer maintenance prices. They provided and oil change and inspection for half the cost of the dealer, and completed the job quickly. I took my GL450 to Turning Wrenches for a Service B in late October. As I expected, there were a number of things it needed. Michael did everything I approved that day, I said I would schedule the other repairs once I was able to do without my car for a few days. That day was this past Monday. I dropped the car off Sunday evening. I got a text from Michael first thing Monday, telling me they had my car in the garage already and were beginning the work. I got a text Wednesday afternoon telling me they expected to be done between 8 and 10 AM Thursday AM. Like clockwork, he called at 9:35 AM, telling me I was good to go. The price I paid was what I was quoted, no bait and switch. I am very satisfied with the work done and will take my GL450 to Turning Wrenches for all my service needs.

The service manager (Michael) was very kind , courteous and prompt after being sent his way by the owner. I was running a few minutes late and he was gracious in allowing me to use their waiting room for some business emails i had to get out to clients . Also, the repairman (forgot his name unfortunately ) took time explaining premium fuels and was a nice touch by showing he liked his career and employer. If I keep this Mercedes, I will use Turning Wrenches again and would refer any client , friend owning a Mercedes or BMW to Turning Wrenches.

I explained what I was experiencing with my vehicle, they scheduled my appointment for diagnosis. I was provided with a detailed report of repairs needed and recommended general maintenance. We agreed upon the work to be performed and the time to complete the it. The work was performed by a precision technician. The multi point check is courtesy check. Mike assisted with the appointment and he was very helpful and professional through the whole experience. Great overall experience, they are friendly and above all, they are very honest, which is hard to find on the mechanics world. They have always provided clear information on the state of the car, what needs to be fixed and what is in good shape and doesn’t need to be replaced. During the pandemic they quickly adjusted to contactless dropoff and pickup, which talks volumes about their customer service. If you have a European car in Louisville, this is the place to take it. One last thing, with every service you get the best chocolate chip cookies in town!

Turning Wrenches is an excellent European Auto Repair shop. They are professional, honest and very good at what they do. I have taken my BMW to many shops before. At these shops I was not allowed to personally meet the mechanic working on my vehicle. These are the same shops I found out incorrectly diagnosed my vehicle. With this being said, Turning Wrenches did the exact opposite. Mr. Brown, the sales representative was very kind and truthful. At one point I asked if I was able to meet the mechanic so we could look at my vehicle together, and he was more than willing to make that happen. In fact, he preferred we meet each other to look over my car just so the both of us were on the same page. It doesn't get anymore professional than this. Just moving here from Florida, I know what Repair Shop I will be taking my vehicles to from now on. They are a little pricy but like anything: quality costs money. My car wouldn’t take gas and was on less than a quarter tank. I wasn’t going to make it home without an intervention! I called Michael and explained the situation. Despite being during their lunch break and me being a new customer, he fit me in. He found a way to fix my immediate problem and they have a 24/7 drop box, so we have a plan to fix the issue permanently. I was only charged for gas for this initial quick fix (getting me home). Update for 2021: I have now been coming to Turning Wrenches for almost 3 years. I have always found them to be the utmost in work honesty, and alway accurate in diagnosing issues. The few times I've had questions, its easy to chat with the technician instead of going only a service advisor. +++++ My second service visit here. That nasty "Brake" light came on, and I needed front brakes/rotors. What sets Turning Wrenches apart for me is the personalized service of a small shop. Not that the local dealer is not friendly, but dealerships still make one feel you are on a conveyor belt process... I had a couple of small issues that Levi also looked into at no charge, and had a technician take a ride with me to check them out. The tech that road with me knew this car like an expert that just left the Mercedes factory! I'm 100% satisfied, and will be back for next service

They were able to check the car, order needed parts and perform the substantial repairs within about 48 hours from my initial inquiry. They had some concerns that the original failure could have caused other problems with the engine and they took extra steps to make sure that other damage had not occurred. I feel strongly that the folks at Turning Wrenches are extremely knowledgeable about European cars and can probably do any repair a car needs. They are courteous and explain the repairs in detail. But both times I got estimates for relatively straightforward jobs on my Minis (a new muffler and a thermostat), they were 20-40% higher than every other shop I called. If money were no object, I'd be more than happy to bring my cars here always. But alas.

I needed an oil change on my Audi A3 and diagnostics ran. I have never had a diesel in my life and they were very helpful in explaining certain things I have never had to deal with before. Appointment scheduling was easy and since I chose to keep it there over the weekend they were kind of enough to take my car to the Audi dealership to fix the air bag sensor recall, however, the dealership was backed up. I appreciate that they would even try to do this for me. A little pricey but that happens when you have a European car. I would suggest anyone who has a European car to take it here. Highly impressed and will definitely come back.

I was under the impression that there was an electrical problem with my Audi Q5 when actually it was not that at all but the knowledgeable technicians there had run some diagnostics so I agreed to pay the $404.80 for services rendered....I was referred to Turning Wrenches by another mechanic and was so thoroughly impressed with their consistent and detailed communications....up until the very end...well long story short my car is now apparently profusely leaking oil and they want to charge me for something that wasn't an issue when I had the car towed there. Very disappointed bc up until this point it was a very pleasant experience. I feel manipulated and also that they tried to finesse me to pay more $$ once it was determined that it wasn't necessary to spend the $$ I planned to spend on diagnostics....thought I found a mechanic for our family cars (Audi, Mercedes, Jaguar) but I'm extremely skeptical at this point....well I know it costs to drive boss cars and it seems as if their integrity is still intact...even with the minor hiccups I recommend Turning Wrenches bc of their attention to detail

We agreed on a price, a course of action,and drop off time on Friday which was set for Monday morning. I dropped my car off and they called on Monday morning without assuming anything and asked for permission to proceed. The work was completed promptly and I was called to come pick up my car. When I came for pick up the results were reviewed in depth along with the work order. They made sure I knew exactly what work was performed and how much it cost. Only after I understood did they ask for payment. I have heard horror stories about mechanics performing unnecessary or unrequested work often times without permission. This is not that type of garage. I will return the next time I have issues with my car and would highly recommend based on the services I received.

As a women going in for car service or repairs, I've been to my fair share of businesses where the men either speak down to me or are clearly frustrated when I ask them to explain the issue with my car and how they are going to fix it (as if asking for an explanation of what I'm paying $300 for is unreasonable?!) or when they try to push me into buying things that my car does not need. First time customer. After completing an oil change and reading Check Engine Light codes, we decided to remove the oil pan to learn why the oil pressure was too low. Bottom line, the engine in my 2011 Mini Cooper S had finally worn out as metal shavings and plastic parts were found in the pan. They found a replacement engine with 36K miles (mine had 133K) and exchanged mine with the new one. We also replaced the clutch (stick shift) as the engine was out, so this saved me quite a bit of money. Throughout this process, David Stone, the Service Advisor, (and excellent golfer!) called daily to update me and consult on parts that were needed or not, offering me options to keep the cost inline. Although this repair was expensive, this car has been a pure joy and is perfectly suited to my needs. Additionally, it was less costly than buying a new car that might not have been as much fun! I picked it up yesterday and it runs like new. Looking under the hood, it is nearly impossible to tell anything is different. I’m pretty keen on keeping my car clean and neat, especially under the hood! When I got it back it was perfectly clean, outside and in! I can’t thank Dave and the technician who did the work enough for the fine job they did. If you read this and have a Mini, let me recommend you change your oil every 5K to 6K miles. I followed the recommendations of Mini and most oil changes were at 12K to 14K mile intervals. I’m certain this caused the premature failure of my engine. Expensive lesson learned!! Thanks guys...job well done!

Got lost going there and had to call to let them know I was running behind and was on my way. I didn't have to wait when I got there. Took my car right in. A few days later call because my car sounded louder. But it was really hot that day. I don't believe my car likes the heat. Besides I believe it's the Mercedes new engine, that I don't like. Loud for a luxury car. I can tell the different in the way it sound when it's not hot. Nothing you all none. I just thought maybe some minor adjustments had been made when I was in. I was told to bring it back in. But it seems to have corrected its self somewhat. Mercedes need to work on that. I plan to bring my car back in for some of the recommendations. They are definitely a lot less expensive than Tafel Motors. They guarantee their work. They use the best parts and or comparable parts. What a shop! Talented techs and a great service manager. TR is the only place I will take my cars and I would (and do frequently) reccomend them to all of my friends. I have had two cars dragged into TR for various reasons. Steve the service manager has always been quick to call back with frequent updates. Very detailed and customer service oriented. I had an engine blow up in one car and Steve was calling me back within 30 minutes with an explanation of what had happened and why. I liked the fact that they knew why, you often dont get those details. He also had three quotes for new engines if I chose to go that route. The engine replacement didnt make sense for me, but what great service. Also dragged my daughters car there fearing the worst after a leak and overheat. It turned out to be a minor issue and the car was ready within a couple of hours. We were all very pleased. Love this place!
