League City location: First, let me start off by saying, I hardly ever write a review. This day and age, it is rare to find great customer service as well as quality care. Snider has both! From start to finish, I've had the very best experience in dealing with them. We had to rebuild our transmission and thought we would be without our vehicle for a while. They were able to get to us quickly and were back on the road within a few days! I will continue to do business with them on our family's auto needs. Thanks to Amber and Matt for helping! We appreciate your professionalism and kindness.

Absolutely the best service I have ever had done on any vehicle I have ever owned. Just a quick background story on my truck. I bought it from a dealership at 26,000 miles for a good price. Left the lot thinking I got a steal without really doing the very thorough check one should do on a used vehicle. So I took it to multiple dealerships with multiple certified mechanics all telling me that it was nothing and that the year model that I have did these certain things. No way around it. The check engine light periodically flashed on and off for year. Nothing really becoming of it. Fast forward to now. My warranty and extended warranty is up and my transmission goes out. I am referred to and old dingy shop that is sworn to get the job done right. They tell me a full rebuild within a short time to where I know they just glazed over it. By my better judgement I called Christian Brothers Automotive in League city and the gentleman that I called, I wish I could remember his name to give him his thanks as well, pointed me towards Snider Transmission. Not just any Snider Transmission but this specific location and got my name and number and told me he would have Amber call me first thing Monday morning. Well me being me I was at Snider's front door before anyone could call me. I walked in to a clean very professional building. The shop area was visible and very clean. I left my truck Monday morning at 7 am. Before lunch Amber had called me and told me that they ran all diagnostics and where about to take a deeper dive. She told me the price of that and answered any and all concerns I had. The next day Amber called me and told me the price on the rebuild and gave me an estimated day to be done. She told me it would be done by Friday at the latest. Wednesday, before lunch, Amber text and tells me my truck is done. Still partially skeptical I pay for the services done and pick up my truck. I drive off with silence in my truck to here of any noise or abnormalities and nothing. This morning I drove to work in the same silence and realized that I am not having those same noises or issues that I was having prior to my experience with Snider Transmission. My truck runs 100% better than it ran the day I drove it off the lot. Words can never explain how appreciative I am of this experience. Its almost impossible to find honest, clean, and professional all in one place. But if your reading this you have found that place. And if you look any further than this page you have missed out. Not only was I quoted a cheaper price for the same work but it was ready in just a fraction of time that I was told it would be done by the first place went to. I'm confident that I can count on them for their professionalism. Heck even their invoice paper is legit. Do not pass this place up if your needing their service. 5 stars isn't even close to the quality you get here, dropped my vehicle off on a Saturday and by Monday afternoon they had the transmission disassembled with the verdict! Saved me $1000 compared to other shops in the general AO for a complete rebuild! Did I mention it took less than a week to get me back on the road! A++++

I'm going to post this review with my honest experience,don't take your vehicle there,after transmission rebuild of A Cost of 3,450 I drove it the first day truck wouldn't go past 50mph returned my vehicle, it sat there for 3 days with no response from amber the owner until I reached out to her on when it would be fixed I got no apologies for vehicle not being repaired right 1st time around.just don't take your vehicle there DATED; Snider Transmission's owner reached out to me to bring the truck back and within a few days the problem was fixed to my satisfaction.

The crew at the League City location fixed my Ford ranger, which wouldn’t get me anywhere fast, any longer. It was cratering fast. They diagnosed it quickly and had me back on the road swiftly. I had issues with my transmission and the shop I initially took my truck to subcontracted with this one. Next time I have transmission issues, I will be skipping the middle man and going straight to these guys. My warranty company was an absolute nightmare to deal with and while I was at my wits end, these guys saw everything through. If they can't work with your warranty company or insurance to get a job done, I don't know if anyone can.

Silky smooth! It’s been over two weeks of all types of driving and that’s how the transmission of my Tundra is performing after a rebuild at Snider. I experienced high level of courtesy and professionalism here. Cost was fair, completion and delivery as promised. My experience was exceptional. I called and spoke to one individual and was quoted a price. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a gentleman, and he stated that the price I was quoted over the phone was the incorrect price however he’d honor it because that was the quote I was given. The work was done in a reasonable time, and I was notified once it was complete. We’ve used Snider’s before, and we’ve always had a great experience. I’ve recommended this place to family and friends.

I had Snider Transmission replace the full clutch system in my vehicle about a year ago and it worked great until it seemed like the clutch master cylinder started to fail. Parts fail, so it's not a huge deal. I took my car in, and Snider replaced all of the hydraulic parts and even a part in the transmission that had failed as a result of the faulty hydraulic part. Snider honored their warranty and didn't charge me a dime for what had to have been a lot of labor and parts costs. They've made me a customer for life, and I'd recommend them to anyone who needs an honorable and reputable transmission shop.

Five stars is not enough. Had the transmission replaced a couple of years ago. Last week it started sllipping and making a whiring noise. It was just out of warranty on time but really under in miles. Went in and the said they woulld see what the problems was. It was a computer issuue, however when they inspected it, it has a leaky seal which they replaced. Even thugh technically out of warranty they backed up their pomise and there were no charges. Way to go team Snider!you are the best, thanks!

I came here after going to 2 other transmission shops so knowing the prices the other shops gave me I just wanted to see what Snider could offer. I had transmission problems 2 months back and chose to take my Ford Escape to Snider’s In League City because they had the best Google reviews and after speaking with them over the phone I felt like I could trust them. Snider Transmission employees are professional, patient and kind. They were generous with towing and diagnostic fees. They went out of their way to convenience me for pick up and drop off to accommodate my work schedule. I had lots of questions along the way and they were patient to take time to provide some background and explain their findings. They performed work and returned my car within a week. After about a month getting my vehicle back it started acting up again. I took it back to Snider’s and they performed a diagnostic and also had a Ford dealership perform a diagnostic to determine this issue was power loss and not transmission. Snider Transmission in League City TX I don’t do many reviews but Snider Transmission in League City deserves 10 stars plus 5. Amber and her team are amazing! They were there through every step and were more than patient with my situation. My rear differential pinion bearing was faulty which caused the rear differential gears and its components to fail. They diagnosed the problem right away and assured me they could fix it. I have a third party Vehicle Protection Plan (VPP); you all know the one that has a “Shield” in the name. Dealing with those VPP companies can be a real headache and getting them to cover your claim turns into a nightmare. Amber stayed on top of these people and didn’t let them push her around: she’s one tuff chic! After almost a month of calling the VVP company every day, jumping through all of the hoops and trudging through a forest of red tape Amber never once wavered from her mission. Those third party VPP companies will try everything to avoid paying a claim it seems. After finally getting my claim approved and paid by the VPP company (mission complete) my Truck was ready right away. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the quality of service Snider Transmission provide me. Keep up the good work Amber! You and your team rock! The staff is very courteous and friendly. They answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable about having my vehicle worked on here. I received a status update every day from the shop foreman so I knew what to expect every step of the way. Being a certified auto mechanic I am well aware of some of the tricks shops will try to play to squeeze a few more bucks out of the customer. Snider Transmission is not one of them. They were extremely cooperative while I was dealing with my auto insurance company, which will remain nameless but a small reptile comes to mind. 2006 Honda Odyssey - we had a great experience with Sniders in League City. We were finding it hard to find somewhere we trusted and then we were referred to Snider by Honda, they were compassionate to our needs and professional through the whole experience. They provided us a loaner car at no expense which is a must because we have children. They also offered a payment plan which is so great for people who have an unexpected large expense. I took my 2004 Ford Explorer to Auto Zone to have a diagnostic test on my vehicle due to the O/D OFF light flashing. The code that appeared revealed there may possibly be an issue with the transmission. The Technician Referred Me To Snyder Transmission stating that will take care of everything. We visited Snyder for the first time and was able to leave the vehicle for inspection. I have a 2003 Chevy truck with 360,000 miles on it. The AC blows cold and the truck runs good, a lot of maintenance has been done as the miles have accumulated. The transmission developed a leak and some gear noise. It's too good of a truck to junk for a transmission leak. I'm not one to shy away from mechanical work so I looked for options on the internet. I researched buying a re manufactured transmission and swapping it myself, but then I saw Snider transmission on my way to the post office in League City. I know that name. They have been around for decades. I think they were in Texas City in the 1960's. Matt Snider is at the League City shop. His relatives are at the other locations. It's a family business. Learning that gave me the confidence the give the job to them. They control the quality and their reputation. Their reviews on the internet are important to them. Look, when it comes to mechanical work, nothing is certain. All you really can hope to expect when you are paying good money is that you will be treated honestly and fairly should a problem occur. I have that confidence in Snider. So far, I'm pleased. The transmission is shifting smooth and quiet. A small drip from a split breather tube was the only minor glitch. Matt had his crew get right on that and it was quickly repaired. I recommend Snider Transmission.

Trying to keep the 2001 Saturn rolling rather than caving in and buying a new car, I took it to Snider Transmission in League City 18 months and 15,000 miles ago for a transmission repair/rebuild. The transmission has worked perfectly ever since then - like new! More recently, I started getting an engine oil leak a few months ago and didn't want to stain my driveway with oil spots. Anywhere you take your transmission to be worked on, it is going to be expensive. The real qualities you want out of a transmission shop are honesty and good work. Snider offers both of those. They also offer an incredibly fair price. Although the work took a tad longer than expected (mostly due to unseen issues that popped up during the process) Andy called every chance he got to inform me of the status of my trucks repair. He was always honest and upfront about what work needed to be done, and never tried to up the original agreed upon price after the fact - even with the few small issues that popped up. I appreciate that in this day and age, when it is very scary to take your car somewhere and potentially have shoddy work done, it is nice to know there are good guys out there who do not take advantage of an already difficult situation. Amber and the team at Snider Transmission took my emergency call after 6pm on a Thursday when my F250 transmission began to fail me on my commute home. They made arrangements for me to have my truck towed to their shop after they closed and promised to check it out in the morning. And here is where they separate their shop from all others, as promised, they were working on my truck first thing Friday morning, and told me exactly what had gone wrong (touque converter had broken up sending pieces of it into the valve body) by the afternoon with a very reasonable quote ready for the repairs with another promise that it would be ready for me by Monday. And they again kept their promise when they called Monday to have me pick the truck up! Amazing in today's business market place. And it got even better when they sent an UBER driver to pick me up at my house to get the truck AND wouldn't let me pay for the ride. Update two weeks later. I noticed that my 4 wheel drive was not engaging so I ask them to check it out thinking it was just a connector that might have come loose with the transmission fix. It turned out to be something completely unrelated to their work but they went way over and above good service and diagnosed the issue (took a whole day) and fixed it for me. And as if they hadn't already far exceeded my service expectations, they happily replaced the 4 wheel drive selonoid at no extra cost to me. OMG can you believe how amazing Snider Transmission in League City is!! Snider Transmission in League City is THE best example of how a business should be run. I took my pristine 1993 classic Nissan Hard Body Truck for a transmission rebuild this week. Parts are hard to find for this model and other shops quoted $800.00 more than Snider and a 3 week wait on parts. WELL ~ Snider Transmission had it completely rebuilt and out the door in 2 days! Overall the best experience so far and with a 1 year 12,000 mile warranty. True Story Years ago AAMCO rebuilt a transmission on another Nissan of mine and the torque converter went out in 2 weeks leaving me stranded on a desolate Texas road in the 105 degree summer!! I took it to the Dealership instead and learned that AAMCO had put standard nuts on my metric bolts and used washers to fill gaps to make it all go back together, I AM NOT KIDDING ~ LOL~ long story that ended in a lawsuit I won. I HAD TO BRING MY CAR HERE FOUR TIMES!! ...its not what you think. At the beginning of May, I brought my car here because my transmission was leaking fluid. 2 months prior, I took my car to another shop to get a clutch installed since it went out while family from out of town were here and I didn't have time to do it myself. This started as a basic diagnosis as the previous shop would not look at my vehicle because "they didn't touch that part of the transmission", and sent me on my way. Matt, Amber, and his crew were open to the challenge. The first time it was brought here, I had some bearing replaced that should have been installed by the other shop. I drove it for a day..still leaking. I brought it back and they realized a plug on the side of the casing came loose. I drove it...still leaking. I brought it back a third time and they noticed I had fluid coming from the bolts in my shifter housing. They performed a proper repair and sent me on my day. Got to drive it for a couple days..still leaking. Now going back a 4th time, they noticed a seal in my shifter tower was bad and insisted on looking for a part that was not numbered or sold by the manufacturer. After taking the shifter tower apart and spending TWO DAYS looking for a seal that was known to be non-existent, they found the seal. Once put together, I drove the car for a solid week to ensure there were no more leaks. The reason this was explained was to show that even taking on an initial problem from another company and dealing with the headache along the way, this shop will do whatever it takes to make sure the customer is happy. Not all jobs will go smooth, but this company will definitely take care of you. I will admit, there were times I grew frustrated at the situation, but along the way, they treated me with the upmost respect..they really deserved their 5 stars. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SNIDER TRANSMISSION!

Matt at Snider Transmission is an awesome guy and went WAY WAY WAY above and beyond what I expected. About 18 months ago he rebuilt my transmission in my 2012 Nissan Maxima, even after a local Nissan dealer said that the Maxima transmission can't be rebuilt and I needed to buy a new one. Then a few weeks ago I was having issues with the steering in the Maxima and a Nissan dealer told me it was the transmission, so I took it to Matt and he verified that everything was fine. Next I tried another well known mechanic shop in the area and they told me to bring it back to Nissan, so I did. Nissan wouldn't even take the vehicle in the back to look it over because they were sure from a 5 minute test drive that it was the transmission. So, I had Matt replace my transmission per Nissan's expert advise and he gave me a great deal, but it didn't fix the problem. Matt decided to try and fix my steering problem even though he is a transmission shop. He replaced 4 different parts on my car and found the problem to be the lower control arms that another local mechanic shop installed and Matt didn't even charge me for the extra work. Matt, I can't thank you enough for being an honest and caring guy and I am grateful for you and your business. I highly recommend this business.

I am so excited to share this review about Snider Transmission. Two weeks ago, I brought my car to Aamco Transmission on Hwy. 3 in Webster, TX. They had my car for five hours. I was assured that there would be someone available to get me from where I live when the car was done being looked at. After the porter drove my car to where I live, I thought there would be no concern about how I was to retrieve my one and only vehicle. After five hours, I was told there was nothing wrong with my car. It was not a believable reply. I and my son knew this because my son is a mechanic. The only thing my son does not work on is transmissions which is what led us to bring our car to Aamco in the first place. We thought, them being a family owned and operated business, that they might know what they were doing. The owner, when I spoke to him after the fifth hour of my car being on their premises, told me "I'm not running a shuttle service." This meant that my son had to take an Uber to get my car back from them, which is what he did. He left the Aamco lot and drove to the El Camino Real Firestone where he used to work and their they told him to go to Snider Transmission in League City. Not only did Snider find something wrong with our car (as we already knew it was a transmission problem), they fixed it and were as polite as you can imagine. My overall experience with Snider Transmission was a five star rating. My overall experience with Aamco Transmission was a zero rating, but this website doesn't allow for that, so I put one star for them (which they do not deserve... yes, our experience was that bad with Aamco). I strongly recommend Snider, now, to anyone who needs a good transmission place to go to. They've been in business for 95 years and are, also, family owned and operated. For the, I give a full five star review!!!

I was told by another shop that the engine was locked up in my truck and would require teardown. Had the truck towed to Snider, they had it running again in less than a day.
