Our daughter’s car was hit by an SUV, horrible phone call to receive. Double rollover on a busy intersection due to lateral impact on her side of the car. Milstead Towing arrived and took their time to safely remove our car from the public roads and take it to their holding facility in Spring, TX. After the dust settles and we could think straight we made it to the holding facility to pay for the services and do our part to get this part of the situation taken care of. Emotionally challenging to finally see the mangled mess of metal left after your child has been in such a horrific accident, but Ms Melody too such amazing care of us at the office. Lord bless this company and their wonderful people. She was just a kind heart when we needed it most. She explained the process and what our next steps were and even gave us some time to talk to her manager Larry and allow us to get our belongings out of the car. Just a blessing when we needed it most. Larry was truly a gentleman and I’ll always remember his words of sympathy and encouragement. And this is how a horrible situation birthed and amazing customer service interaction with good Texas people. I just can’t Thank y’all enough. Stay blessed

I have used milstead glass for many years. I needed a tow for my vehicle and looked up tow companies in Google. To my surprise Milstead Automotive also has a towing division. Called and set up for a tow. Dispatch set appointment and Steve showed up early even though it was late in evening. He was so nice and professional and really seems to enjoy working as a tow man. He was very polite and extremely knowledgeable of his truck (a really nice autism painted colors truck). Even though needing my vehicle towed was a hassle, Milstead Towing definitely made it better. If ever I need his service again he gave me his card and I'll be sure to request Steve again. Thank you for your help

After 2 other businesses turned me away for a simple inspection, I looked at a map & realized Milstead was only a few blocks away. I called & they said to come on over. They shop was busy, but they checked me in right away, and before I knew it, they were through! Very friendly and fast service. Had an issue I wasn't happy about. Update: The manager Josh called me and said they would fix the issue with my battery free of charge. They ran an electrical test and confirmed the alternator and starter were still good. They put in a new battery. I was in an out in 30 minutes. Really impressed now with Milstead Automotive. Thanks!

Wonderful atmosphere with very professional employees. EVERYONE was smiling. Bryan Kelly helped me. Answered all types of questions about my car. Very gracious!!!!! Waiting area had the most comfortable seats. Easy to find. There are large signs printed in bright red lettering as you turn on Hawthorne until you reach the main entrance to the shop. You cant get lost. I truly recommend this business; their repair area is organized and very clean. You will get the best service!!!!!!

Milstead is the epitome of honesty and integrity for automotive repair. I’ve been using them for over 16 years. This most recent time, I had trouble with my truck starting and holding charge. Battery was replaced (under warranty), and they told me the steps and price to keep troubleshooting. They found the issue (an $11 part), and all is well again. We took our motorhome in with a generator problem and a chasis I ac issue. They quickly diagnosed the problems. The ac was a quick fix the generator required a part, so it was fixed the next day. I've used Milstead across all of my family vehicles for over 10 years. They have always been courteous, patient, honest, and fairly priced. I honestly cannot recommend them enough. Here are a couple examples of their customer service: I had an issue that turned out to be a Ford warranty issue. I had already taken my vehicle to the dealer to get this addressed but they told me it wasn't covered. Upon taking my car to Milstead for service they told me that there was a recall on my vehicle and that it should be covered by Ford. I explained that I was already informed by the dealer that it wouldn't be covered. They then took it upon themselves to call the dealer's service department and set them straight with details on the recall. Another time they had my car in for service and I called in for an update as I needed it to travel to a funeral across town. As soon as they figured out my problem, they offered to drive me out there themselves. I'm a customer for life.

Amazing customer service. Walked in this afternoon with a ‘loud cricket’ sound coming from under my hood. They diagnosed the problem quickly and Jim told me the parts would be there in 45 minutes for repair. Barbara driving the shuttle took me home as it was already 4:30 and they close at 6. I assumed I would get my Jeep back in the morning. By 5:15 I had a text saying it was ready for pick up. Called up there and Barbara was on her way back to get me minutes later. So in less than 2 hours they diagnosed the problem, got the parts, and fixed the Jeep. The free shuttle service was amazing and Barbara was fun to talk to on the ride. Price was fair for what needed to be done. They did make suggestions for what else I probably need but there was no pressure to get it done now.

In early November 2022 I was on my way to the Spring area driving I45. My car overheated and died. I was recommended to call Milstead auto and have been so pleased with their work. They own their own wreckers and towed my car to their shop. My engine had overheated and after a thorough inspection, they determined I would need a new engine due to blown head gasket and coolant backing up into the engine. They quote me a comprehensive price for a replace engine with a bit less mileage than the original. The final invoice was no bigger than the quote and turnaround was about 5 days. The manager of this shop and all of their staff is super knowledgeable and easy to work with. I would definitely use them again.

Not only did he wait on the side of the road behind my car so it didn’t get hit he even waited 3 hours for triple a to give him permission to tow it. Because the pickup was so late and I had 2 small kids they said I could leave the car and they will get it. The gate was locked ( even though it wasn't suppose to b) and they couldn't get to it but they stayed and worked through all this issues. The driver and dispatcher was awesome. As the owner of a Ford Excursion it’s often challenging to get a tow truck big enough to come pick me up if needed, and typically takes a long time. The last time we needed a tow for it we had the good fortune to use Milstead, so when I was hit by another car a couple weeks ago, I knew Milstead could help me. Unfortunately I was a bit flustered and unfamiliar with accident procedures as it was my first wreck, and the police managed to pull out a wrecker in record time, because Haley Crenwelge responded immediately and was on site just seconds after they pulled my truck off the road. I hope to not need their services again for a long time, but if I do I will definitely be calling Milstead again.

Update 1/27/23: As always, I would take my car to no other place for servicing. We recently had an 04 Corolla inspected at Milstead and today I received an email from them that links my car to a Carfax report. Wow! This link gives me information on my car ever since it left the factory. There’s servicing information that pre-dates Milstead, but also includes the work Milstead has performed. It’s a great way to keep on track with when work was performed and the next time servicing should be performed. For professionalism, expert work, and friendly service, it’s the only place to go. (No, I wasn’t paid to write this, and am not a member of the family. Just a satisfied customer.) Oh, one more thing, the Carfax report seems to be free. I would give these folks 10 stars if available! I've been taking my cars to them for a few years now, and their honesty, clean facilities, and level of quality mechanics beats all I have experienced elsewhere. And they stand behind their warranties.

I had a really great experience considering this was a totally unexpected event that frustrated my whole life. The tow truck driver, Sam, was fun. He's a great conversationalist and I felt safe. When we arrived at the yard he dropped my Jeep inside a bay because I had the doors off. Our SUV decided to end its work day early on a busy street in front of our son's school when we tried to pick him up for the day. I put in a request for roadside through my insurance and a Milstead truck came to tow us. They were very nice. Truck was clean and in good shape. Insurance recommended a different shop but we decided to go to Milstead. Great decision. It was late evening so the were close to closing but they were able to secure our vehicle in their lot. Office is very nice as well and clean. Also has water and coffee if the needed. They were able to get us home for the evening and let us know what to expect for repairs. They called us early the next morning to provide results and cost. It was reasonable and they let us know they could have our vehicle ready that afternoon. Thankfully it wasn't an extensive repair but did require a part that had to be collected directly from the manufacturer. The process was all really efficient and smooth and they send updates via text. They were done at the time they said they would be and had driver here to pick up up shortly after. Absolutely no lights or issues since we got her back. I neglected to mention that the tow driver, service coordinator and driver were all super kind and helpful. Overall excellent experience for a stressful situation.

A few days ago I had a tire blowout while driving on highway 45 heading south. After I heard the loud “boom” and realized it was from my tire bursting, I managed to quickly get off the main freeway but unfortunately I didn’t make it off the exit ramp. I pulled onto the shoulder of this exit ramp and prayed I would not get hit as vehicles swooshed past me. When I was able to get out and look at the tire and the damage to the tire, I realized I would have to change the flat myself if I wanted to get home. To my surprise 2021 Toyota Corolla hybrids no longer come with a spare tire in the trunk. I was shocked to only find a bottle of fix a flat and no spare tire.in the trunk of my new car!. This is a ridiculous and terribly unsafe way to sell any car in my opinion. Now I was stuck with no options to help myself. I had no choice but to just sit there until their “complimentary” tow service came to get me and tow me to their closest service center. With literally no other options, I waited and waited and waited - for well over an hour - in the heat and on an unsafe shoulder. This is were this automotive business provided me with help through their “Tow and Go” services! I was ecstatic to see them pulling up behind my vehicle and relieved help had arrived. The tow and go driver, “Xavier”, clearly explained to me how he could help me get of the feeder to a safe road ahead for free or tow me to wherever I’d like for a reasonable price. No pressure - not pushy - not out to make a buck…just there to help. I was so relieved to finally have the help I needed to get out of this bad situation. I tried to reach the “complimentary” tow service that Toyota dispatched to me hours prior but whoever they dispatched to help me, never showed up or answered my many texts and calls to their listed contact phone number provided. I never received any call or text indicating they were coming or had arrived to tow my vehicle. Thank God “Tow and Go” showed up!!’ Anyway, because of Xavier and the Tow and Go company’s services, I was not left in a dangerous situation but rather I was professional towed to safety. I highly recommend this company for their quality approach to helping stranded motorists get to safety. I also want to thank Xavier for his prompt quality service, clear explanation of how he could help me and his continuous professional manner throughout this ordeal. It’s nice to know that there are quality companies with hard working responsible employees that will be there to help when you have no other options. Well done and thank you!!!’

I broke my door handle during the ice storm. The service manager talked me through the parts cost and the labor estimate. He was able to give a clear picture of my expected expense and it was obvious to me that they would be able to solve my problem for little more than I could even try to do it myself. They had parts within a couple of hours and called me to set up repairs that same day. It was quick, affordable, and so much better than the unknowns of trying to cheaply fix it on my own. 📣 Shouting from the roof top 📣 Go to Milstead Automotive for ALL your auto needs. I had the brilliant idea of getting an oil change at Walmart while I shopped for my son’s birthday party, day before 4th of July. They cracked my oil pan (I got what I paid for) and 3 months later I finally got it repaired. Just an FYI, I’m in the service industry and I’m happy I didn’t go with “a friend of a friend’s brother’s girlfriend’s uncle” for the job just to save and still have issues. I was already dealing with a simple $25 oil screw up that costed me a few thousand more. Milstead was worth every penny. From start to finish they were honest and fantastic to work with. I was able to use there after hours service of dropping my car off on a Sunday night and dropping my keys off since I was unable to take it Monday morning. They have a 24/7 answering service. During the repairs they texted me pictures and called me to make sure I was involved with each step of the repair process. They even took me out to the garage and showed me the areas they were talking about. Many things came up and never did they say “you better do this” or “you’ll have to pay this”. Although they gave me several bad news they always gave me options and solutions to consider and even said “please take your time to think about it. You don’t have to answer now.” I went today to finally pick my car up and they were all smiles and ready for me to checkout. They gave me an itemized invoice along with reasonings for each item line. They answered all my questions and even gave me an estimate of what I could sell my car for when I was ready to buy a new care. But wait there is more, they even gave me a list of things I should repair in the near future along with price list. Not once did they say, “you have to come back” or tried to make more money by lying or deceiving me on the health of my vehicle. They made me a lifer when they said they guarantee the parts and labor. No extra cost for this warranty. They are that skilled and confident in their team. They understood the assignment! Fix this leak and make it safe for me to drive my family in. ✔️ During this process I learned even more about this amazing business that made me a lifer: it’s female owned and ran. They are always supporting the community and giving back. Not only do they have an automotive shop they also have a collision center, Milstead Collision. Here are some of the services they offer: • oil change • car and RV rental • inspection • towing • body and electrical repair And the list goes on. I ask what don’t they do, car wash? Answer: yes but we don’t do auto detailing. 😂 If you ever have to wait they have some beverages to help yourself to, the reception area is extremely clean and inviting. The staff is clean and presentable even their hands. It wasn’t a greasy smelly mechanic transaction trying to take advantage of me. Thank you to the whole Milstead Team! Steve Meredith completed an extremely difficult job pulling a vehicle out of the mud without the luxury of a tow truck. The vehicle was stuck in an area that was too muddy and slippery for a truck. I called Milstead the morning of Oct. 12th and spoke to Brad in Service about replacing the windshield on my car. Brad had a price to me within a couple of hours (if that long) that beat the "big guys" $166 or 35%. Brad arranged for the pick-up of my car on the 13th and delivery the same day when finished. Payment was incredibly simple even for a tech challenged person like me. At the last minute I remembered I also needed an inspection. Brad of course said "no problem," and had this completed before my car was returned. Brad is incredible and an asset to Milstead. Competent and you could tell he truly cares. The girls who picked up and returned my car were very sweet and also completely professional. This experience was possibly the best auto repair experience I've ever had. I had a good experience at Milstead. People were friendly, service was reasonably quick, mechanics seem competent. I will be back. I have used both their collision center and the automotive repair center. Since they are a larger business, car rental places are used to working with them. You can have Enterprise pick up your rental after you have picked up your own vehicle without your needing to be present. You could also have them bring you a car, although I have not needed to do that.

Since my experience below I was contacted by a Milstead representative who was a pleasure to speak with. No business is beyond making mistakes but most will act like everything is fine and evade taking responsibility. Not Milstead. I was so impressed as to how the call went and his sincerity I am changing from 1 star to 3 because they clearly care how the customer feels and are not scared to own their actions! Good job Milstead, thank you! I called Milstead for a tow because one of their drivers who was at the gas station we were stuck at. He was friendly & answered my questions despite being there for someone else. So I called their office for service per his recommendation & because they were located less than 3 miles from us. I Called for help at 9pm and despite seeing at least 3 milstead trucks pass us by, at 1125pm when I called to cancel still no one had come or even called me with an update! The catalytic converter on our RV was stolen. The dealer could not get a new one installed for over 5 weeks. Called Colleen at Milstead, brought our RV in on Friday and it was ready by lunch Monday and $400 Lee’s than what the dealer was going to charge if they ever got around to it. Lost my AC in a heatwave during a drive from Austin to Houston. I’m not from town, so I called ahead for a mechanic referral, and took my car straight to Milstead. It was the end of the business day, so they logged me in to the system right away, and I got my system diagnosis and repair price estimate the following morning. They ordered the parts and replaced the AC, and I was able to pick up my repaired, freshly washed and vacuumed car first thing the following morning. The work was good and the pricing fair.
