This repair shop was recommended by the original shop where my truck’s mechanical issue was being evaluated. Evidently, the repair needed was beyond the original shop's technical capability. Once I arrived with my vehicle, this shop’s staff immediately assisted me and assured me they would “take care of it.” Even though this shop was extremely busy, the staff communicated the difficulty and delay of my needed repair in a clear and professional way. The staff further confidently assured me that the shop would remain open till the necessary repair was completed, and providing an adequate and expected service warranty at the point of payment. By the way, did I mention this shop’s service rates were very competitive to others I contacted in the surrounding area.

What a wonderful experience. I went here to get a pre-purchase inspection on a used car. I called right before and thought it would take a while, but they got to it the minute they could in about half the time I expected. The people working there are incredibly good-natured and kind and a pleasure to be around. The inspection they did seemed thorough and they made sure I had a good written and printed copy of what they found. They gave cheap alternatives to ways I could fix a problem that would take the business away from them but save me money. And then on top of all that, they charged me less than quoted because the car was small and it did not take as long!! I live 40 minutes away from this mechanic but when I tell you that I and everyone I know will go here from now on I mean it! What amazing people!

I'm a business owner and one of my vans transmission went out I took it to one shop and they wanted over $11k to replace the transmission I went and picked the van up and the starting googling transmission shops found Brown's auto repair talked to the owner Jeremy and told him what was going on he gave me a price over the phone and stuck to his price. They were very honest and laid out the price of everything that would need to be fixed. I decided it was time for a new car and that I wanted to scrap my old one. Took my car in to get my transmission checked out after a long trip over the holidays. Thought i may have had an issue but had misread an article online wrong. Turns out no issue with the transmission which i was relieved to here. Jeremy didn't charge for the check up, which was awesome. The crew was fair and honest.

Overall I had a great experience with Brown’s Transmission. I worked with Stephen from beginning to the end. Initially Brown’s towed my vehicle from a different repair shop, after I read the reviews from the previous shop, I no longer wanted to do business. Previous shop was not up front about the towing cost if we decided not to use their services. Ratings were not great . I asked Stephen if they would charge after inspection he told me no. So I felt comfortable with that answer. The previous repair shop wanted their money up front for the total repairs $3800.00!! Never had I heard of this in my life. Overall I’m pleased with the services at Brown’s. They projected I would have my vehicle returned after a week. True enough they delivered. So far so good with my vehicle. Smooth ride. Only suggestion I would have, when less busy, update the customer on the status of their vehicle when time allows… also my vehicle has a 24 month transferable warranty..Sincerely a true paid customer 🙂

Such a Treasure! We live in a world where deceptive practices and customer manipulation runs rampant. I initially went to Brown's 3-4 years ago, after going to 2 different places and receiving a print out with multiple repairs I “urgently needed.” One well known Auto shop gave me a quote of almost $3,000 and the other gave me a quote of a little over $4,000. I then took my vehicle and this information to Brown’s. They were amazing and thorough. They checked everything that was noted as needing repair. I was floored when Brown’s told me that 60% of the repairs listed were not needed. I just could not believe how manipulative and dishonest these other Auto Shops were. I rarely make recommendations to places because of their customer service lacking consistency and integrity. However, I always refer friends, family and my CoWorkers to Brown’s. These guys have integrity, great customer service, and their “geterdone” approach is stellar! Highly Recommend, Highly, 110%!

Everyone I worked with was great, super friendly and professional! They diagnosed the issue and repaired it in short order once the part arrived. They even honored their quoted price despite the part being significantly more expensive than they anticipated. Only reason for 4 ⭐️ vs 5 was that I had to initiate most contacts and had trouble getting a call back a few times. However, I would still highly recommend them to anyone who wants a good repair at a fair price.

Extremely satisfied with Brown's. I brought our 2005 Honda Accord (140k miles) in for what I had expected to be a failing automatic transmission. Brown's diagnosed the problem was due to a breach in the seal where the transaxle attaches to the transmission where fluid was leaking, and a failure in the shift linkage o-ring, and was a ~1qt low on transmission fluid as the culprit. I picked it up after repairs and have driven it over 600 miles (over 500 miles pulling a Jon boat/motor and camping gear to Caddo Lake and back) and it has been flawless. I'm very happy with the diagnosis and the repair from Brown's. I especially appreciate their honesty and accuracy of diagnosis, quality of repairs, and turnaround time to get it back to me in time for the camping/boating trip.

Can work on a couple of things like letting you know when they can actually work on your vehicle instead of holding it for 3 days before even looking at it......BUT..that is minor compared to the excellent work they do. I was referred to Brown's Auto Repair by another shop after they discovered a few things wrong with my transmission. They said I needed a specialist in the field, and that's exactly what I got at Brown's. Everyone I encountered was respectful and knowledgeable. They diagnosed my needs an explained them to me in a way that I could understand. They did everything they could to work with me in regard to meeting my needs as far as the repairs. I have 3 vehicles that I have taken to Brown’s and have spent over $10,000 with them the past 2 years. I believe they are good guys that I think do good work. Until my last 2 visits, I would give them a very high score. In my last 2 visits, they have continually missed commitments made to me, either when my vehicles would be ready or simply when they would call me back. I am not sure if they have too much business or just lost their way with customer service. While Jeremy does attempt to make it right, I struggle to recommend a business that willingly misses commitments. They still may be the best around and I may take vehicles back to them, but I will investigate other options before I do.

I contacted Brown's Auto on Saturday and spoke to Patrick after I had received an outrageous estimate from Tom Peacock Cadillac a day earlier. The estimate ranged from $1,600 to $2,900 for replacement of engine mount and two transmission mounts, a wheel alignment as well as various flushes. This didn't sound right to me. How could a 2013 Cadillac with only 14,000 miles need such extensive repairs? I bought this car brand new. I arrived at Brown's earlier this morning and explained the situation to Steve Smith, the service manager. Steve immediately had a mechanic check for the issues Tom Peacock found wrong with my vehicle. Brown's mechanic could find none of these issues, including engine vibration that the dealer claimed they heard. This took less than an hour even though they were very busy. If you are looking for an honest auto repair shop, do not hesitate to go to Brown's Auto Repair. From now on I will be bringing my car here for any work, inspections etc. that needs to be done. This is the best repair shop you wanna take your car. I was blessed with the information I received about this workshop, AKA transmission wholesalers. I visited this place after a dealership recommended that I needed replacements for both transmission and engine on my car, this exercise would not cost any less than $30k. Jeremy (owner of the repair shop) advised that I should allow him a few days to thoroughly diagnose the vehicle. They later found that I didn't need any replacement; transmission was rebuilt and some wiring wes fixed. They told ne the engine was perfect as against what the dealership suggested.. Absolutely outstanding. My experience with Brown's is tied to looking to buy a preowned car as a family backup vehicle, which had been a nightmarish experience involving weeks of people basically being dishonest about everything in their car's history. We finally decided to risk trying a small dealership selling as-is cars purchased at auction, which meant we had to have the car we wanted carefully assessed. We called Steve across the street from the dealership at Brown's to get an inspection. While we were a little hesitant because he also did state safety inspections for the dealer and had a relationship with them, it turned out to be absolutely the best decision we could have made. Steve called me 90 minutes after he got the car and basically said, "Don't buy it. There are a whole series of things wrong with it. It's clearly been badly repaired after an accident. The electrical system has a lot of issues." And on and on. However, when I came by to pay Steve for the inspection, he and the owner chatted with me for a while about what we were looking for and asked my price range, They basically told me to stick to Honda and Toyota for a backup car as they were our best bets for value and reliability. Steve also said, "You don't have to give up on those guys (the dealership). They have good deals; you just have to check out each car. I have had customers come back and get a car with them after the first didn't pan out." And that is what happened. We found a Honda Accord at that dealer and had Brown's check it out. There were a couple of minor issues; all but one were fixed by the dealership before we bought the car and the last one was nothing we cared about. Steve and Brown's were terrific; straightforward, candid, knowledgeable and helpful all the way through. I highly recommend them.

Been using them for years (previously named Auto Check / Transmission Wholesalers). Had my transmission rebuilt on a 03 Ford Explorer back in 2016; and have about 30k+ miles on the rebuild. They have fixed a few items other shops hadn’t a few times now. Wife has also taken vehicle and was treated very well. Recently took my Prius for a 90K mile service and saved over 150$ vs dealer. Patrick, Jeremy and Steve have always been helpful. A couple times in a row I took my old Explorer for an early Oil Change and the tech comes back in saying I am early, after about doing that 3 times over a year (We take long trips over Holidays) they just told the tech, “Mr. Franco knows...” So it is nice to have trustworthy service and honest crew all around. Owner once asked what Toyota was charging on their Synthetic Change, and said next time bring it here, which is part of that 150+ savings mentioned earlier for the 90k service. In general, be it a Prius C Hybrid or Old Ford Explorer, top notch staff and service. I’ve also left my car overnight with keys in drop box, and they always double check before working and call. I highly recommend this place; fair prices, honest work, staff knows me by name and they honor their warranty. A+ Don’t want to sound like an ad, but ask them about their BG warranty, I read the paperwork and it is rather interesting what it can cover. My Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG V-12 twin turbo transmission broke down and the dealership explained that they had found traces of metal inside the transmission pan, estimate for the repair over $6,000.00 . I took my car to several transmission shops in Houston and they just did not worked on SL65AMG 722.6 transmission. I finally called Transmission Wholesalers and spoke with Jeremy who explained to me in detail the repair of my transmission. I took my car to him and got it back within a week. They repaired my SL65 AMG transmission, rear main seal, change my engine oil and replaced my front grill. all for half of the price everyone had quoted me. My first day after picking up my car I race a 2016 SRT Hellcat and Beat him in a 1/4 mile. I'am so impressed and happy to had taken my Mercedes Benz to Jeremy, he took care of me and left my SL65 AMG running like new! I recommend anyone who owns a Mercedes Benz to have their transmission service here. Friendly, honest and the price is unbelievable.

I was greatly impressed that someone would drive 40-50 miles just for auto care in a metro area as large as Houston. I don't trust majority if mechanics, either they fix the problem and mesh up other things or they dont put the other small things back. That is why I usually do all the fixing myself. Anyway, this is the story... I had my Volvo XC60 2013 towed to their shop and I suspected a transmission problem because I did drain the transmission oil and changed myself. This SUV have no tranny dip stick, there is a oil level ck rod at the drain plug. In order to ck the correct level it should be engine running and at 50deg C to 60deg C temp. I ck the level engine off, so I thought I messed up the tranny because the vehicle wont move fwd or bwd. So this shop told me that my L and R axle need to be replaced before they could do the tranny. So I said ok but upset thinking it is the tranny problem. They replaced the axles with Original Volvo. I picked up the SUV today and it is running good and the tranny is good no need to rebuilt it. This shop is very good. Very honest people. 👍👌 Thank you very much for your good job and honesty.

Not really the "Auto Check" but the place across the street that does oil changes etc (I believe either owned by or defiantly affiliated with auto check) my boyfriend and I took his car up there on Sunday and Sean (or Shawn apologies I'm not sure which way he spells it) WAS LITERALLY A GOD SEND! THE NICEST GUY I HAVE EVER MET IN THIS FEILD! HONEST, INFORMATIVE, FAIR, AFFORDABLE! And the entire thing was completed within MAYBE 10min.
