Had my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee towed here at the recommendation of a friend. We had changed the thermostat because my Jeep had a minor leak and the light had come on that the engine was too hot. That went away with the new thermostat and topping off the coolant. Two days later, it was Niagara Falls coming from underneath, and it wasn’t drivable. The team at Gulf Coast Auto looked at the cooling system, piece by piece, and diagnosed what was wrong. It turns out the entire system sans hoses was leaking to some degree with the water pump just pouring out coolant. I have to return for another issue, but I’m glad I found a shop I can rely on. They were effective and efficient in diagnosing and repairing my vehicle, and I would recommend them. Blake was my point person and he was great

They told me I needed to use the dealer because it was an electrical issue. That didn't sound right to me so I thought I'd try these folks. Brought in 2012 Mustang for estimate to repair transmission hose leak. Asked them to check for suspension rattle as well. Called me with estimate for leak repair; the Ford part was very expense and I elected not to have them complete the repair. I paid the diagnostic fee. They informed me that they had tightened up an anti-sway bar connection. This cured a rattle that the car had had for 3 years! Very pleased with through diagnosis and suspension repair!!! Trustworthy, great value.

I had my Jeep Grand Cherokee towed to Gulf Coast Auto because water was literally pouring out of the bottom of my car after trying to add it in the radiator when I had problems with overheating that I thought we’d resolved. It turns out the initial event of overheating caused way more damage because the components are plastic (right?). They worked with me to get the proper repairs. Any new shop you go to, you enter with hesitation and caution because of the reputation mechanics have of upselling things you don’t need. While the repairs were expensive, everything they diagnosed was plausible given my own experience with the car in the days prior, and they took the time to go through it with me. I have other unrelated repairs that have to be done soon, and I’m hoping I have a smooth experience again.

I am new to the area and had problems with the Def system on my F250 Diesel. I had found Gulf Coast and had seen they had been in business for 35 years and diesels were a specialty. I called and they got me right in. They kept me updated on every step and was able to fix it without replacing any parts. I can’t say enough good things about this repair shop! I was driving from Florida in a new to me Yukon pulling an auto transport trailer loaded with another new to me car. I noticed that the weight of the trailer was dragging down the rear of the Yukon beyond what I felt was safe. I was headed back to Florida and on a time crunch - Gulf Coast Auto was able to upgrade my rear shocks and even let me leave the auto transport there while they repaired and I could get back on the road. I have had issues with a squeak in my car for 3 years, I took my car to 3 different shops and had everything known to man replaced/fixed even brake pads and rotors and it never fixed the problem, I got new tires and wheels etc I honestly don’t think any of the places I took my car really replaced my brakes Finally found Frank and he took the time to listen to me and hear me out, he was patient, kind, knowledgeable and understanding. I had another shop repair my F250 to cure the death wobble. After driving it for a few months it never seemed to be completely eliminated, so I took it to Gulf Coast Auto. They put it on the rack and told me what they wanted to do and gave me an estimate. Called me 2 days later to come pick it up. I am very pleased with the repair, the truck drives like new. They were able to warranty out a part the previous shop had installed which saved me $300. I would recommend them to anyone. Good honest service.

Went to pep boys at first to get an alignment. They red flagged my rack and pinion for a leak. Now my Silverado is a 2013 with 98k miles on it. So I went to gulf coast to get a second opinion. There was no leak, at all. They did my alignment and topped off all my fluids and saved me a lot of money for a part that didn’t need replacing. Normal wear and tear. It's hard to compare prices, but I feel like we were charged a fair fee for the work they performed, something that I can't say about the place down the road that we had been using the way too long, a place that charged $118 to change an air filter that I had done myself before in under 5 minutes! Car was shaking pretty badly while driving and we had gotten a couple different opinions we weren’t sure of. Took it to Gulf Coast Auto because we had heard they were trustworthy. Both axles needed replacing which they knew would be costly so they ordered some after market parts to see if they would fit and cost us less. Unfortunately ended up having to get parts from Mazda but their effort to save us money was appreciated. As soon as they got the parts the work was done same day and my teenager was back on the road. They communicated well by phone and by text every step of the way. Great experience!

I seldom write reviews, and nothing heroic or extraordinary occurred during my experience. However I have to comment on the absolutely competent, communicative, straightforward, honest methods these guys use in day-to-day business practice. My old diesel truck with 400,000+ miles was having some problems that could be tricky to figure out for any shop. They sorted out what was wrong, (an electrical short inside the valve covers, affecting the injector module ) quoted me a price, fixed it, along with taking care of a few other minor nuisances that would have caused me trouble down the road. I appreciated the text message progress updates and the truck was done when they said it would be done. I recommend them highly.

Randy answered the phone. He was to the point and was able to see me same day. I went to his shop when we discussed they were able to work on my truck right away. I was in for a a/c charge. They diagnosed that my evaporator most likely has a crack we could smell the Freon in the cab slightly. The mechanics including Randy were very helpful and professional. I suspected the battery was the issue and needed it fixed before I passed my inspection. I called on a Friday afternoon, was asked to bring my car in Monday morning. I went to this shop for the first time when my car started acting up on Friday. I had suspicions of what I thought may be wrong and asked if these things could be checked. I can not thank everybody that works at this shop enough. This is all because I ended up needed a new oil pan installed after running over some debris. This impact caused a slow leak around my oil drain plug I could not ignore on Sunday during the day. As my Aunt and uncle live right down the street and have used Gulf Coast Auto & Truck Repair for many years with great success, they offered to call up the owner Frank to see if his shop would replace the damaged pan and check over the car starting Monday. After talking back and forth he said that we were welcome to drop it off Sunday night via the after hours drop box they have and that they would take a look at it and replace anything that was broken/damaged for us. He also said that I could purchase the new pan, gasket and new oil from somewhere else like oreillys if I wanted to save money on parts. I would just need to pay the labor costs to have their techs install my supplied parts at the shop and any other services done. After bringing the car up there with the new parts Sunday night and dropping it off they delivered it back fixed with a very fast turn around of 2 days. I consider this extremely fast as I come to find out after asking some questions that they had to do a lot more work than simply unbolt the old pan and re-bolt the new pan back into place. They had to disassemble a bit of the underside of my car to get the oil pan out which is common on some models which takes time. You also have to factor in that they had other cars to work on before me that they needed to finish which also takes time depending on the repairs needed. Along with the pan replacement I had my suspension checked and an alignment done to make sure there was no further damage not detected by my eyes caused by hitting the debris. After getting a new pan installed and an alignment done my 2005 accord finally drives straighter down the road than ever before and has no leaks to be found. I could not be happier with the work done and I will continue to use Gulf Coast Auto for any other repairs that might arise and will recommend them to others for their repairs also.

It seems simple right? You drop off your auto, a professional tells you what is wrong, what needs to be done, how much it will cost, and how long it will take. As simple as it sounds, it's tough to find...unless you take your auto to Gulf Coast! I have used them for years to maintain 5 cars/trucks, and have always had an excellent experience. They have been done on time every time, and the price has never been more than they quoted. It has been less a few times, but never more. On top of that, I have never had to wash a greasy handprint or smudge off the interior, doors, or fenders! I deal with the same people each time I go in. They gave me a rough estimate before examining my car, which needed its 100,000 mile checkup. Then they called back without me having to check on it with the estimate. Gulf Coast has worked on my 2006 Dodge ram and other vehicles numerous times. My truck has 200k+ miles and requires more maintenance than I wish. They’ve always been straightforward with there answers and fix the issue. I’ve probably spent $5000 on maintenance in the last 4 years, and I’v never had to return it for something they previously addressed. As far as price comparison goes, I have no reference. My thought is you pay for what you get. Do you want the job done right, Or cheap. They do it right.

Faster than expected service, lower than expected prices. I dropped my truck off Christmas night because I had to head out to work in The oil fields of west Texas soon after Christmas and was expecting this to take a few days so I wanted to give them as much time as possible. I asked for quite a few things to get done to my truck. It needed a tune up and new spark plugs, It needed a new battery, It needed the transmission fluid/filter replaced, It needed the coolants to be checked/replaced(had original in a 2012) It needed an oil change, And all of this was completed in one day. I was expecting something like a 2 day wait for the service to be completed and then my bill was only a little over a thousand dollars. I was expecting something like this being at least 1500. They where nice gave me updates and just gave good service at good prices.

I took my truck to Gulf Coast to get a second opinion after a name brand shop gave me a rather extensive and expensive lift list of items needed for a front brake job now I work on all my own vehicles I race cars so I know what goes on underneath the vehicle but I'm traveling at the time so I can't do anything about it spoke to Blake at the front desk he sounded confident and confident and told me he would get back to me and he did so in a short amount of time he diagnosed the front end and came up with the game plan gave me a plight price that was half of what the first shop had told me did the brake job took the truck for a drive and did something I have never had a shop do for me before he drove the truck and then took rotor temperatures which would show if a caliper was hanging up in the pad was dragging on the rotor they were all within spec I've driven the truck for 2 days since and it has been perfect I highly recommend them I can see why they've got a 5-star rating.

This was my first time taking my vehicle to GCATR for repairs. Let me tell you, this was by far the best experience I have ever had with any repair shop in my 30+ years of driving and owning vehicles. I walked in and told Blake that I needed the brakes looked at on my Jeep Wrangler. He told me to be there at 7 the next morning. I got there at 6:45, they got my info and told me they would contact me about what needed to be done. Around 10am they called and said I needed new pads and rotors on my rear brakes. At 4 they called and told me that it was finished. I was expecting them to say all the pads and rotors needed replacing. My front brakes still had 75% life left in them they told me. In my experience, most other shops would’ve tried to tell me that all the brakes needed work, wether they needed it or not. Their shop is the cleanest I have ever been in. The cost was very reasonable. The people working there are all pleasant, happy to see you, and are appreciative of your business. Thank you GCATR for this great vehicle repair experience. I recommend them to anyone needing their vehicles repaired or maintenance.

From searching online, I found this place to be credible for my alignment. I contacted them through their website and was answered promptly by Mr. Prisco, the owner; he gave me a great price over email and I decided to book the appointment over the phone for today, Tuesday 2/27/18. Over the phone, I was given a higher quote but that's understandable since some jobs required some inspection/observation/further information to provide a better estimate of the labor to be done; they also told me that the job may take up to 2hr if I drop off the car and I said I will have to wait for it since I need the car asap then they said they'll do their best to have it done within 1hr 30min. So I showed up at the shop at 8:15AM today. I didn't even mention the lower quote that I was given just to see how things would go. I was ready to nap during the wait but to my surprise the car was done by 9:10 AM even though the shop was pretty packed when I arrived. What's even more pleasant was that I was told that the alignment wasn't that bad and they charged me even less than the original quote that Mr. Prisco had given me. I've moved to this area for a couple of years only and wasn't sure where to bring my vehicle to when needed. But now, I think I've found just the place. As a woman, I have received the 'auto shop run-around' on more than one occasion, but this is NOT the case with this shop. A year ago, a couple of months after having a complete new brake job done by a dealership which left our Miata squealing like a pig, I had GC check it out. The owner honestly couldn't find anything wrong other than possibly low end products used and charged a very modest fee (or nothing at all--I honestly can't remember) to have checked it out. Impressed with them, but not having the luxury of having time to be car-less, we brought it back later with a laundry list of items to be done while we were going to be out of town. The professionalism and respect was the best I've ever encountered on both occasions--they were personable, friendly and gave me straight answers. The car was ready when promised, all items completed, and the work was explained in detail when I arrived. The best part was the bill. I expected it to be quite a bit more than it was! And, did I mention I was given a ride from and back to the shop and didn't have to call a friend or pay for an Uber? I don't write reviews often, but a clean, courteous, professionally run shop with everyone bending over backwards that offered a cost-conscious service deserves my rating of 5. I will return to them in the future for any other work we require and recommend them to my friends. There are a ton of car shops in our area, but it's worth the little drive to trust a company with your vehicle and not have the worry that they're going to sneak a 'few extra things by' because I wouldn't know any better (which my husband was certain has happened in the past.) Great overall experience, twice!

Better than some other shops I have used. Some ways to improve though. Frank comes off like a fast talking salesman instead of someone genuinely concerned with customer service. I was quoted 395 and charged 411.34 before tax. I was given the excuse that an estimate on the phone is not precise.... 395 is pretty precise... Was told most shops dont give a quote over the phone. I'm clearly 50 years old and obviously worked with many shops and I always get quotes over the phone so why try to lie to me like that. This is what I mean by fast talking salesman. Dont try to BS me. Was charged 5 dollar hazardous material disposal. I went in for an alternator replacement. No hazardous material involved. Kinda left a bad taste with that. Overall they got my car in and out same day. Lifetime warranty on the alternator. Price was on par with other shops and they're a half mile from my house so I'll likely use them again. But I hope they will read this review and fine tune their approach to customers.

They are very busy and will turn you away if you dont get there early. They are very expensive, about $100 for a wheel alignment and about $100 for an oil change. I'm sure its quality products and work but still pricey especially when you could get a wheel alignment and an oil change for less than $100 They do good work and use products you can rely on.

They did a good job on everything they were asked to do however I did not know that they did not grease the front end with a "lube, oil and filter". I'm not sure what the "lube" consists of but I did talk to them and they said they would do it if I brought it back. I hope they change their practice to lubricating a vehicle even if it is more expensive. I lived it when I got home and I checked my Tahoe to see if it had been lubed the last time it was in and there was no sign of it. They will still have my business and in the future I guess I will have to ask for a lube with my lube, oil and filter.

Referred by a fried due to work schedule dropped my truck to their parking lot after buss hrs. Next morning received a call from John. Extremely professional, down to the core of the subject no b.s. clearly told me what is wrong with it and give me an estimate even prior to do anything. My 07' Sebring has been plagued with san EVAP problem for the last 2 yrs. I had taken it to another local shop to have it diagnosed and repaired. After 3 days of google searches and you tube videos, they couldn't figure out the problem, so they changes some sensors, the gas cap and a purge valve. $389.00. Problem fixed? NO! They said sorry, take it to the dealer. So off to the dealer we go. 5 weeks and $1500.00 later. Problem fixed? NO. 5 days later, CEL again. 2 recomends later, I called Gulf Coast. Spoke to Drake. Told him the problems, and the history, and he said to bring it in and drop it off. He told me what tests they were going to use to find the problem, and how much it would cost. He then told me he would call me early to mid afternoon with test results. 2 1/2 hrs later I get a call from Randy at the shop. He tells me exactly what the test results showed to be the problem and how much it would cost to fix it. It could be fixed by mid to late afternoon. I got a call at 4pm telling me that my car was ready to be picked up. 6 1/2 hrs after I dropped it off, and $342.00 later, Problem Fixed? YES! GULF COAST AUTO AND TRUCK REPAIR far exceeded my expectations on all points. Customer service was exceptional. My only shop from now on.

I had my f 150 in here a couple of weeks ago to repair a battery cable issue ,that was a very poor design by ford .normally the repair would call for replacing the very expensive and sh#ty battery cable harness with same original harness. These guys recommend a different option that none of the other shops in the area did .that saved me a TON O F MONEY and its better than the original design. These guys were more concerned about giving me a better option than the original expensive and crappy parts than making more money from the job.
