I brought my car in for a free brake inspection, and though my brakes were good, they did find some engine issues. They are the first repair shop to take me out under my car and SHOW me what is exactly going wrong. They approved everything with me first, then had parts ordered in minutes. I was able to get my car fixed and had it back in less than 24 hours at a very reasonable price. On top of that, they left me a flower and thank-you note in my car. NOW THAT WARMS A GIRLS HEART. thank you so much for incredible service!

Their system allows me to see and understand any damage on my vehicle, and contacting them is always fast and easy! Rear differential replaced, rear brakes and oil change done on my truck. I trust this place and the service was outstanding. Michael did a thorough inspection on my truck. Planned stop in Fargo across country for work on a Friday night. About 100 mi out started hearing growling from front end in older Audi. Suspected hubs/bearings. No one open on Saturday except Tuffy’s. Somehow fit us in despite being short staffed and got it fixed in record time. Not only that but brought me back to hotel on lunch break while getting fixed! Saved us at least $250 and two days in travel costs. Scott is extremely accommodating and a credit to the business. K. Crane did the work efficiently and well. Anyone and everyone should get their car serviced here. Highly recommended.

Brought my car in to replace headlights since you have to take the entire bumper off, my headlight went out again and after the owner heard about it he reached out directly to make another appointment and fix it again. Most places tell you you're SOL but it's extremely refreshing to see a company that cares about their customers and well being! Thanks Tuffy!

I chose to go to a different shop for the fixes as Tuffy's was a bit on the expensive side for my particular budget.

Greeting everyone, I am the OWNER of GLOBAL ERRANDS ENTERPRISE LLC: Commercial & Residential Cleaning Service. I took my Carpet van for a service at Valvoline express on 13th Ave and they told me that they couldn’t remove the bolt from my oil pan, so I took it to TUFFY AUTO SERVICE CENTER, and they were full, but Brother Scott promised me that he will do everything possible to fit me into the schedule and he did just that and I greatly appreciate all the staff members there. On a trip from Bismarck to the Twin Cities, my front brake began smoking after a stop in Fargo on a Saturday afternoon. I called Tuffy around 2 pm and asked if they could take a look at my brakes. By 4 pm, technician Michael Kyle, had replaced a brake line and had us back on the road to home. So grateful we could continue our trip. Also, Tuffy's bathroom was the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen at an auto repair shop.

Earlier this year I brought my Dodge Grand Caravan into Tuffy. It’s a 2009 and it was a return visit. Well, they fixed my A/C and throughout all the 90+ temperatures this year I have stayed cool and comfortable. I am enthusiastically recommending Tuffy for whatever you might need. I have been to Tuffy’s a few times now and the staff is always friendly and understanding. They normally provide me with reasons of why the service is needed and they have neve “pushed me” to repair or purchase something, explaining the reason why that’s changed and if it can wait longer. I always have a good experience, and even having checked with other mechanics after service was done at Tuffy’s, the quality seems to be high and comparable to Authorized Dealerships, while price is normally reasonable and lower than authorized dealerships.

I had a nearly flat tire, and so I took it to Tuffy’s. They were really busy, but took the time to work me in while I waited. I had a fixed flat within 20 minutes, and they showed me the screw I had run over. I’ve got some other work to be done, and I will call Tuffy’s instead of the dealership!

For me, this is the only place I will bring my car. I called here after another repair shop upped their bill estimate by $60 and Blake could fit me in at the last minute and got my car back to me fast. Plus, it was $10 less then my original estimate from the first shop that I went to. They also have a loaner car so I don't have to miss work as I work 14 hr days and 6 days a week. Thanks for being a great customer oriented business and y'all are nice to boot!! 😊 I would definitely recommend this place to others!

First time goin to Tuffs Auto service had an appt at 1:30 walked in the manager asked what can I help you with today, I said I had an appt at 1:30 to have my tire looked at and also to see if they could see what was goin on with my heater, the manager said he would try and do his best to get me in cause of it being so cold out side they have been supper busy, with in the hour they got my truck in looked at the tire and the heater and fixed the issue with the tire and told me what was goin on with the heater, gave me estimated price and also on the tires, did my oil change. For the first time being at a place Tuffy Auto Service did an amazing job, manager was very nice very professional answered my questions, the team that works for Tuffy Auto Service they are awesome, will be goin back there again. I came in to get a transmission repair I didn’t expect to have it done for awhile since they have to pull the whole engine . And it was a Friday! They got it completed in 24 hours for a good price and I was called and updated every step of the way! I worked with Scott and I’m very pleased with the work they did and his professionalism. It’s been about 5 days and 600 miles later I’m very happy with the work and if I ever have need for repairs again I know where I’m going!

While traveling through Fargo we were stranded with a car that wouldn't start. After calling numerous shops we stumbled on Tuffy. They arranged the tow, found the issue and got us back on the road in a few hours. every other shop was at least a week out. ( it was -12 at the time) I still have one son at NDSU and if he has car issues I will be sending him to Tuffy.

I called Tuffys and talked to Scott & told him my windshield wipers were not working & it was going to rain and needed them fixed. I also mentioned my brakes were making noise, which he said they will look at it for me. He quickly got me in for the next day, he made sure to get me in at a convenient time since I worked. I arrived and they fixed my wipers, new brakes and rotors. Once my car was backed up, Scott noticed my one brake light was out & they replaced that at no cost for me. Our family of 4 was driving home to Michigan from Glacier National Park when our Toyota Highlander started making an alarming noise. We had stopped in Fargo for the night and hoped that our SUV would sound better in the morning! When it didn't, we went to Tuffy and found out we needed a new water pump. Even though they were very busy with multiple vehicles needing repairs, Scott found a way to fit us in, which was a huge relief since we had been on the road for 12 days and didn't want to add another due to car problems. Scott was professional, friendly, reassuring, and went out of his way to provide us with excellent service, even offering us a loaner car (which we accepted) so that we could go to the zoo and out to lunch while our water pump was replaced. Mike did excellent work and finished the job an hour before it was promised to us. He was also extremely friendly and a pleasure to interact with. I highly recommend this shop and would bring all of our cars to it if we lived in the area!

I scheduled 2 oil changes 2 weeks ahead of time. When I arrived on time the manager told me they could not honor my appointment because they had too much other work due to the cold. He turned me away saying "We are more of a full service shop and told me to go to valvolien oil change instead". He also said he may not be able to honor a second oil change appointmentI had scheduled two days later for my wife's vehicle. The owner did reach out which I appreciated.

I brought my car to Tuffy due to a check engine light that had caused a loss of engine power. Tuffy was able to get me a loaner car and let me know that the repair involved a miscommunication with my speed sensor and gas pedal. Tuffy did the research to find out that my repair was covered by a gm service bulletin and directed me to a local gm dealer. I have been coming here since they opened in 1999 and will continue to do so as they are the gold standard in car care customer service.

Recently, I hit the mother of all potholes and bent my front and rear passenger side rims. Tuffy Auto Service Center has been the place I take my car when it needs something as little as an oil change or to repair my bent rims for the past year. In A friendly, timely, and efficient manner I was out the door after Tuffy's mechanics made sure nothing else was wrong with my car. In a case of bad luck, I purchased rims that I did not want on my car. The manager Scott was very understanding. He let me replace my rims for the ones I wanted AND did not charge me a penny for labor the second time around. When I arrived to exchange the rims I was sadly 20 minutes late. Amidst all the chaos, Scott got my car in and his mechanic Ray swapped the rims out and I was on my way in less than 30 minutes. I plan on taking my car to Tuffys for any of my future car needs. Best part of all, their website always has great coupons!

The customer service at Tuffy Auto Center was top notch! My car broke down on a freezing cold day and most auto service centers I called said there would be a 2 day wait to have the car looked at. I had my car towed to Tuffy in Fargo and by the next morning they called me with a diagnosis.The manager called me multiple times throughout the day to keep me updated on the progress of the auto repair! We went here to have a front end alignment and when we made the appointment the guy was very friendly and helpful. Then when I went to drop the van off he continued to be helpful and knowledgeable. The work was completed efficiently and fairly. I dropped my car off with pretty explicit instructions. Walmart tire center could not remove some lugs. Please fix. They called and told me they test drove it. Wait why? Then when I said I don't care about their findings and to just fix the lugs because I have a lifetime Mopar warranty the guy in the phone proceeded to argue with me that at 175,000 miles I don't have warranty coverage. Did I stutter? Life time warranty. Just seemed like they were trying to upsell me anyway possible.

We have gone to Tuffy's for quite a few years now and with 5 different cars. They have always been friendly and helpful and they keep you in the loop as best they can. They always take the extra time to talk with any extended warranty companies so you don't have to, which is really nice. Almost every time we call with car trouble they are able to get it in that day. I also had a friend that went here a while back to have extensive repairs done and has had no issues since then. UPDATE: Still going strong. We had a repair done at a different shop and that shop failed to notice that the water pump was leaking badly. My wife and I both said to each other "Tuffys would have noticed that". It's hard to come by a shop with integrity like Tuffys nowadays. They honestly care about you and your vehicle, and will always stand behind their warranty. We recommend them to anyone in town.

I really don't know my way around here an woke up with a flat tire, went to Firestone an they couldn't plug my tire because of their schedule.wouldnt even consider working me in an told me to drive down the road and find a different place. I stopped at 2 more tire places that couldn't help me. Then I found Tuffys. They got my car in asap, it took like 10 mins, I greatly appreciate that they could take a time out for me an fix my tire. I made a major mistake while trying to add oil to my car so i searched car services near me and Tuffy's was the first to show up. I gave them a call right away and was talking to the store manager, who could tell i was very stressed after i had made the mistake on the car and he was SO helpful and understanding and helped me make an appointment as soon as possible. This past week we had our Dodge Grand Caravan in for fuel injector problems. I know I had taken out a warranty for the van but could not find it. Scott went out of his way to call the 800 number I ha and got the warranty information and found out that what was going on was going to be covered. If Scott had not taken the time to do this we would have ha to pay quite a bit out our own pockets for this. For this we thank you Scott. Managers are very proactive in making sure their customers are satisfied. If a mistake is ever made they make a very strong attempt to make things right. The few times I've had a car there I've never had a problem. They seem to have very talented mechanics for basic work as well as extensive work like timing belts.

I had a very good experience and am very grateful to them. I called on Friday, December 22nd for an unexpected, but needed, repair and was told that although they could not give me an appointment time (as they were totally booked), they would make sure to get the repairs done Saturday so I could leave town on Christmas Eve. I brought my car in on Saturday at 8am, they figured out the problems by noon, and they had it ready around 3pm. He was very kind and professional, and I will definitely keep them in mind for the next time I have a car problem. I highly recommend them!

I was very impressed with the level of professionalism from the moment they picked up the phone to the moment I got in my car to leave and there was a flower and thank you note on my passenger seat when I left. The mechanic that took a ride with me to make sure they were addressing the right problem was both professional and fun. They didn't have the part I needed in stock so they offered to have it there first thing in the morning and gave me a loaner to get to work the next day. They estimated that they should have it done by noon the following day. I received a call around 10am the following day to let me know it was finished. The price was comparable to other places around town but the service was outstanding. I finally found somewhere to take my car that I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off!

My niece broke down on her 2000 mile trek home from college in Fargo. Not only did Tuffy's diagnose the problem and fix it quickly at a reasonable price, they also arranged a towing company to come and tow the car to the shop. Kim and Scott were very helpful and honest. Working with them over the phone long distance from Washington state was no problem at all. They did a great job!

My van was having some very concerning issues and I needed it checked out asap I brought it to a different shop and was belittled and told nothing needed to be done when I left that shop it sounded worse so I called and spoke with Scott and even tho it was a Saturday they got me in and fixed my car and I'm proud to say it feels safe again. Many shops will sit there and tell women either A) something needs to be fixed that doesn't or B) nothing is wrong so the damage gets worse and cost more money......that is not the case with this team they make sure their clients are treated well. They have fixed so many things on my van and even fixed a big mess up from the prior shop for me so I didn't have to deal with the owner of the other shop I went to. These guys put the customer before the vehicle. I was working with scott on getting my chevy silverado repaired, I was told that with everyone they had coming in that they might not even be able to look at it today. I brought it by and they immediately put a guy on it, listened to and answered my questions, and made me confident I had chose a great place. Scott gave me updates on the truck's condition and instead of just saying the action taken, he explained why they were doing what they were doing and the different results we could expect to see. Most places put your vehicle first. These guys put me first.

Update: Kim (the owner) called me and offered his reasoning on why they would not put on a shorter belt. Their reasoning was that because my car was designed with an AC system, they could not guarantee that a shorter belt designed for my model without an AC system would work with my vehicle and that the bypass pulley was the "official" fix. I completely understand why they may not want to install a shorter belt, as if something fails, they are on the hook for using an "unofficial" fix. If Tuffy would have just said something along the lines of "yes, a shorter belt may work fine, but we won't do it because we don't want to be responsible if something goes wrong for using a shorter belt" when I originally asked, that would have been completely acceptable to me, and I would have been on my way exploring my options. But as it stands, their original response to my question still left me $170 in the hole (potentially more), and is the reason for my neutral star rating, previously up from one star. That being said, I was impressed to see that the owner called me and wanted to make it clear that their reasoning wasn't to rip anyone off, which I believe. I also have had a little previous work done with Tuffy, and had no complaints with the mechanical work done whatsoever. From the phone call, it sounds like we both learned from the experience, and I'd still recommend that everyone does his research before doing a repair no matter what mechanic he goes to. Original Review: Serpentine belt broke due to a seized AC compressor (already knew this before taking my car in). Got a quote for ~$450 for parts and labor to remove the AC compressor, add a dummy pulley in its place, and replace the belt. Before I gave the go ahead, I asked if it would be possible just to use a shorter serpentine belt and keep the seized AC compressor pulley out of the loop. Was told it wasn't possible, so I gave the go ahead to perform the $450 in repairs figuring I had no other option. While they were removing the compressor, I called O'Reilly's and asked if they had a serpentine belt in stock for my sonata that didn't include the AC, which they did. Told Tuffy's to stop working on my car and was charged $170 for the compressor removal and Freon discharge. Turns out the $15 shorter belt from O'reilly's plus half an hour of my time worked perfectly and I had the compressor removed for nothing. Luckily I stopped before the whole $450 repair was done, so I'm only $170 down now for no reason. And it really was for no reason - the compressor pulley would have in no way interfered with the new shorter belt. This is either incompetence on Tuffy's part, or worse, upselling a $15 repair (probably $70 with labor) to an unneeded $450 repair. I think I'll just stick to oil changes with them from here on.

Had received quotes for some fluid flushing for my 2010 Kia Sedona 100,000 service. Had also asked them about an estimate for a 100k tune-up (spark-plug replacement). Went ahead with the fluid flushing and brought it in. Got it done 1 1/2 hours sooner than promised and they had also taken a look at the spark plugs. Was told by Chad that they "looked brand new" and he didn't feel there was any reason to change them. It was a refreshing change to have an auto service place tell me that I DIDN'T need a service (an expensive one at that) that I had asked for a quote on. Too many places, especially the "quick oil change" places are all too eager to find additional services to replace, sometimes needed, sometimes not needed.

I'm giving tuffy three stars ONLY because they are friendly. Let me explain why I won't rate them higher. One: the first time I went there owner Kim said he could for me in for alignment. I drove 63 miles each way just to be told they can't do it. Two I called to put a part in. They said they'd do it than said techs are not willing to do the job. They lost over 350 dollars for that incident. I believe in good honest and upfront business practices. If you are going to do something than FOR CHRISTS SAKE hold yourself to it. That's how you keep business. Cannot say how good they are as I never actually had the opportunity to see THIER work. Just the runaround. Sorry but that's my opinion based on what I see and has happened to me personally.

I went there for an oil change after being told by Walmart it would be a few hours. They told me 15 minutes, it wound up being about 25 but they left a rose and a card in the passenger seat. They said it was because they valued me as a customer. Either way it cost almost $30 for the basic oil change and if you go to Walmart you save $10. Personally my $10 is worth me getting the oil change done in a few minutes instead of hours.

Highly recommend this place!!! They get the job done for a good price and are pretty fast. They do inspect the car and look for anything out of order or needs fixing but is just a recommendation on getting it done. It’s important to them that they disclose that information to you as it will be saving you the time and trouble for the future. The mechanic that helped me listed all the things in order from top priority to lower. Now we know what needs to get fixed first and that’ll come in the future. Tuffys gets the job done and will be coming to them again.
