Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had at an auto shop or dealership. Total transparency (from the issues they found, to the technicians and recommendations, to the breakdown of costs), knowledgeable, and friendly. They remedied issues with my vehicle that neither the dealership nor previous shops were able to, and did it in a fraction of the time. They also consistently did their best throughout the process, despite how super busy they were - managed to get the vehicle finished over a day earlier than expected and for a bit cheaper than originally estimated.

I used this business to put a hitch on my car and they were amazing! Jamil was so accommodating the moment I stepped in the shop and got me in and out extremely quickly. Did a great job installing my hitch and electrical and have very fair prices. Recently took my car to get fixed after an alignment issue. Jim really took care of the problem and was very accommodating. They took care of my vehicles issue which was to replace the CV axle and to get an alignment. They took care of it very fast! And they did an awesome job!! 🙌🏼 Really good turnaround time. Hi all! Went in for some repairs that, as I was told by other shops, would normally take days or even weeks to get done and picked up my car ready to go 2 HOURS AFTER! I've brought my car in here 3 times (two oil changes, brake disc & pad replacement, and a new drive shaft). The shop is clean and they are always very thorough, but still quick. We thought we had a water pump leak but found out it was a cracked radiator, which was driving up the engine temperature to dangerous levels on our Toyota. They went above and beyond to source a new radiator at a very copetitive price. Repairs were done quickly, proofessionaly and at a very competitive pirce. These guys are truly the best! Always fast and remember there customers. Our garage collapsed on our car last year and they had to replace the entire roof, and it looks brand new. Then, we were in an accident and they repaired the alignment in a day, and it was cheaper than the tow to get the car there!!!! Recently, I went in for an overdue oil change, he remembered my car, and asked about it, and then he didn’t charge me for my oil change! Best service ever

I’ve brought 2 different cars here across 3 different visits and have gotten nothing but great service for reasonable prices. For some of the more expensive repair I’ve had to have done I did a quick auto zone check on parts prices and tools I would need to do the work myself and their price including labor came out to nearly the same! In a recent visit a tire went out that they had done a patch on and they replaced the whole tire for free. Highly highly recommend.

On the hottest day (so far) of 2022, my AC went in my car. Dropped it off here in the morning and by the end of the day, they had it all diagnosed (it was the compressor), fixed, and blowing cold air. This is a great shop and I'd recommend their services to others.

Had a great experience at Chicago auto. Jim is very helpful and knowledgeable! The guys working on the car were great too! First, the location of the store is great, store itself is clean and welcoming, not just a boring seating area. Second, the detail to attention exceeded my expectation with the work I wanted done to my car. I wanted to give my Cherokee a more aggressive look and was looking to do a lift to fit bigger/ more aggressive tires. Jim took the time to carefully show me all the options when it came to tires and lift. I was also looking for more lighting and he showed me what options I had there too. Let me tell you, the car came out clean. Drives like factory too which is exactly what I was looking for. Jim even showed me everything that was done afterwards in detail. Definitely coming back to Chicago auto for all my automotive needs.

These guys are awesome! I highly recommend them. Jim and the team have taken really good care of me over the last couple of weeks. My 2007 Mazda 6 had multiple problems from structural to mechanical and they've done a great job with the repairs. I brought the car to them because the engine was misfiring and shaking badly but after a few visits the car is working great! I appreciate their timeliness and professional work. This place is top notch! Great communication, service, solid repair! Very professional, kind, and excellent waiting room. José was so willing to answer all my questions about everything, honestly. My car needed a lot more work than I expected, and they walked me through each itemized issue and the price. Going as far as to help me prioritize work needed, and explain why. After my initial repairs, I noticed a strange sound from the fan they replaced, and they reexamined it free of charge. These guys totally went above and beyond! I was so nervous about being duped because I know nothing about cars, but they were so patient and clear about everything. I will definitely be going back! Ask questions if you visit! Great experience as a first time customer! My car got stranded due to a bad alternator and a battery on my e90 so I had it towed to Chicago Auto. The next morning my car was first in for repairs and was out within 2 hours. I’ve been to multiple mechanics in the Chicagoland area and haven’t experienced such a smooth process for a repair. 10/10 recommend. Not a lot of people know how to work on german cars, so if you’re in the same boat I recommend them a 100%, they’re familiar with coding your ECU as well. All of this at a fair price! Jim is the main guy you’re gonna talk to and the technician was Orlando. Thanks guys!

Husband and I have been going here for at least a year now and they still seem too good to be true. They're consistently fast, friendly, 100% competent and capable, and transparent about what you need, at prices lower than what any other shop would quote us. We've had little things like oil or a headlight, and big things like $2000 of work on the frame and engine. Every time, they're faster than we expect and do a perfect job for a price that seems too fair for anywhere in downtown Chicago to be charging. I don't know how they do it, but I know you should skip the hassle of other places and bring your car here.

Last weekend my wife ended up with a flat tire and other issues and first thing Monday morning we called this place and they got us in right away. Not only that, they were able to fix our issue the same day in less than a couple hours. The service and communication was fantastic. We have lived in this area for 7 years now and been searching for a shop like this forever. Their pricing was absolutely the best there is in the neighborhood. Highest recommendation!

I needed shocks and wheels replaced which I provided and they were more than happy to install and help me. After finding out the wheels that I bought would not fit properly they were more than happy to move forward doing modifications to make it work correctly. In the process they found out I had two bad tires which way they were able to provide.. after getting the car it seemed like there was another problem with the balancing of the wheels I took it back they happily rebalanced it and now it's working properly. I have to say for a shop to continue to work with me after numerous obstacles because they agreed to install the parts that I provided I really appreciate that I'd have to say that's good business and they care about their customers thank you. Very honest work from them, most shops I've been to have always "found something else" or the "parts price changed" before they'd be done changing the price, but not here. This could not have been a better experience. No one enjoys the hassles of auto repair and there is nothing worse than having your car break down- which mine did. But these guys made the pain as painless as possible. I had my car towed into the shop minutes before closing. I didn't expect to hear back from them until the next morning to tell me what the problem was, but I got a call 15 minutes after dropping it off with the diagnosis (dead battery and dead alternator), a reasonable quote for repair and letting me know that it would be done by late afternoon the following day (which it was). I will be a loyal customer from here on out, absolutely GREAT experience!

This is the best auto mechanic I’ve ever been to. I drove 35 min away to go to this place based on stellar reviews already here and they surpassed my expectations. The person I communicated with was beyond understanding of my position. They quickly figured out that my blown out headlight was actually a blown out headlight module and unrelated to the bulb itself. While they initially quoted me $600 for the repair, they were incredibly transparent and broke down how the pricing worked and what their part was that cost $300. Because I wanted to get the price down, they even let me keep my car there for 5 days (the snowstorms made ubering 35 min to otherwise pick it up very difficult) while I shipped to them a similar part I found on Amazon for cheaper. All the while, they communicated with me over text and by phone and it was a great experience. Working with them made the whole process a lot less anxiety inducing for me than usual. In short, I could not recommend this place enough 10/10.

There is no reason to take your foreign car back to any dealer for mechanical repairs once your warranty is up; Chicago Auto Repair seems to be able to repair all makes of cars, and their prices are reasonable.

I had tires installed at Chicago Auto Repair Service and when I went to go have them rotated about 6 months later at another auto shop it turns out that one of the screws was cross-threaded or over-tightened when installed, which meant about a $200 repair. I took it back to Chicago Auto Repair Service and they repaired it for me at no cost and without hesitation even though it had been 6+ months since I had been there. Very honest, hard working shop! Will be making this my regular auto shop.

On Saturday, my car wouldn’t start. I managed to get it to Chicago Auto Repair Service, and they had it running within three hours. They were very professional and did a good job explaining what they were doing. The waiting area was very clean (I saw them sweeping and lysoling surfaces), which is important in this day and age! They charged a fair price and did the work quickly. The next day I drove my car all the way to Kentucky without issue.

Woke up with almost a completely flat tire. So I brought my car over this afternoon. I left it with them. It took a little longer than I was told. But no big deal. They found a nail in the tire. Awesome auto repair shop in a city that is not always the easiest to find. I got my car tuned up, they completed it within the day and did a great job. I started having a bad start with the day cause I blew a flat and went over a curb pretty bad. I had a check engine light come up, my steering was all funky and I honestly was scared to drive it anymore then I had too! I called and they got my car in shop ASAP! They were extremely helpful and I hope Jim (the mechanic) stays there cause he was so great at explaining everything! They got me in and out quick! I just stopped in (March 2017) to get some work done on my car. I knew I needed a new brake light switch and I had a transmission fluid leak in the radiator hose. The mechanic, Raul, was incredibly well spoken and very helpful. He explained exactly what he thought needed to be fixed and he gave me fair price estimates that were far better than other auto repair shops in the area. Everyone was very friendly and took my car in to evaluate for free. Called before they started working on it to get my consent and told me the issues. They took me in short notice within 45 mins of closing to install a battery I brought in, and also topped up my oil and transmission fluids with the bottles I brought in. Labor costs reasonable; they were kind enough to adjust tire pressure, as well as top up fluids within the original labor cost for the battery change. They have a cute dog that I played with during my wait. I will be returning for an alignment in the near future as their quoted price is 33% cheaper than the dealership quote. No suspicion of dishonesty or pushy sales tactics; I would recommend this shop.

Huge shoutout to these guys, for taking care of my Prius quickly and explaining the problem to me before doing the repairs. I took in my Prius C for making a strange rattling sound upon start-up. The problem turned out to be a rat chewing through my ignition cables. It wasn't a cheap fix, but fortunately it was covered under my insurance (Geico) with only a small deductible. Definitely consult with your insurance before approving a repair so they can let you know what's covered. Anyways, these guys were very quick to fix the problem and I had my car back in no time! Super grateful for their service.

Needed brake replacement. They were able to get me in the same day. Talked me in to doing all four pads and rotors for a discount. Brakes started squeaking after only a couple months, ended up replacing them early because the pads were so cheap. The customer service was excellent, but you get what you pay for.

I can't say enough GOOD THINGS about this place and our experience here. Firstly they worked with us to help get the repairs we needed within the budget we had. They completed the repairs perfectly as well as changed the keyless remote battery at no charge. In the process of repairs found a sizable amount of cash that had been lost promptly giving it all to us upon return to pick up the car. Have taken my 2004 Mercedes c240 there several times for tie rods, motor mounts and their work has been fantastic and very fair prices. When they did my tie rods they found some other loose items like my o2 sensor and muffler and fixed those as part of the job no extra cost which was super nice. Owner is a great guy and knows Mercedes cArs from years of working on them so I trust that they know what their doing on older Benzes. They also are OK to do labor only jobs if you bring your parts in which is great.
