I continue to be impressed by the excellent service I have received at Twisted Wrench, not only the mechanical service but the customer service as well. I recently scheduled a tire change over and state inspection. On the day of the appointment, I could not find the registration for the vehicle. I kept the appointment so the tires could be changed and I expected to have to reschedule the inspection, but Jenna said the registration was not a problem and that she would take care of it and get the inspection done. What phenomenal customer service!!!

My Honda CRV was making scraping noises so I made an appointment to have it checked out. Twisted Wrench has been taking care of my car since 2009 and I have always been happy with their work. Today was no different. I was given a loaner car for the day and was kept up to date on the state of my car. In the end parts of the muffler system were welding back together. I was so relieved that it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I will continue bringing my car to Twisted Wrench for any kind of service. They are the best!

Twisted Wrench has become our local mechanic shop of choice! We own a Subaru and because they specialize in Subaru's...well...I'll trust an expert for that service any day. Just not a dealership. Our experience with dealerships have been less than wonderful. However, the service from Twisted Wrench has been amazing. Not only do they fix the car and give us no reason to believe that there will be any 'new' issue or unforeseen issues come up, they stand behind their work. Eric has been amazing to deal with when it comes to repairs and regular maintenance on our vehicle. I went in for my state inspection, which was already past due and I needed some work done to pass. Twisted wrench was super awesome about squeezing me in on short notice. Dropped my car off in the morning, I borrowed a loaner over night, and had my car back before noon the next day. I asked and received quotes for pricing prior to the work, I researched pricing and labor, their prices were very agreeable. Super friendly and polite staff. 10/10 will be back.

We brought our suv here all of 2021. We were new to the area and this place was recommended to us. We mostly did oil changes which were fine. My issue is sometime during the summer, our AC went out and then we had realized it was because the serpentine belt had broke. They obviously put on a new belt and said they checked our AC. Recently we noticed that something didnt seem right as our car kept squealing loudly but chalked it up to being an older car in cold weather. Yesterday we took our car in to a different shop because we needed an oil change ASAP... the other shop noticed the high pitched squealing immediately, took a look at the car and said our belts needed replacing (which is strange considering we just got a new belt and had the AC checked roughly 6 months ago). The new place replaced the belts (serpentine and AC) and the squealing with our car stopped and is sooooo quiet. Now I am questioning other work we have had done there... what the hell did we pay $1000s of dollars for? Some other flags were when we got our brakes done... I was told multiple calipers were being replaced, but the invoice stated they did not do all of the calipers I was told about. We also often dropped our car off before work and picked it up after (my husband works long days as a delivery driver). One night he picked up the car and the battery was conpletely dead and his uber driver had to jump him. Maybe everything is alright if youre going in person.... but I am starting to feel taken advantage of needing to drop off our car for the day without talking to someone face to face. We've since decided to switch shops.

I got my oil changed at this garage(looking for a new mechanic for my Toyota). So far, so good. They were very friendly, professional, and went over my car to see if anything up. My car is older and recently purchased. They gave me an estimate for the control arm bushings to be replaced, and also uneven wear on tires (rotation needed).Someone else already had seen that, too. They seem genuinely interested in customer feedback, so that is good. Clean and pleasant waiting area with coffee, and also giving me a free loaner car!

Super nice team who are patient and responsive. I don't generally like bringing my car into mechanics because of that feeling of being patronized or feeling like I'm paying more than I should for work that may or may not need to be done. I DID NOT feel that way about Twisted Wrench. All I can say is "thank you" to the man at Ace Hardware I happened to meet while getting my keys copied - he recommended this place for my new-to-me/long time-on-the-earth Volvo. UPDATED 7/2020: I can't say enough about this place. There aren't a lot of reliable mechanics out there, but these folks really care about you and your budget. I've been coming here for over 2 years and they've tackled some big jobs during that time. Eric is really understanding about financial issues, and I'm almost always given options. What is needed can be separated from lower priority issues when money is tight. I know they can be a bit more costly than other places, but wouldn't you rather the job is done right?? Or at all? I've had too many rip-offs (even at dealers!) so I'm going to keep coming to Twisted Wrench. Michelle at the front desk has always been very courteous and understanding. I finally decided to update my review after a job they are doing now, where a huge fire hazard was found. I didn't feel comfortable driving out of there, and neither did the team. When I had difficulty finding a ride, they were able to set me up with a temporary vehicle! It was so kind and unexpected, and I'm glad they didn't charge extra because service this great is priceless!! Original review from ~2 years ago was after having issues getting in contact with the team, it must've been a fluke because they keep in touch well nowadays :)

I fully trust these guys. I found them when my old subaru needed the engine replaced. They tracked down a used one and installed it for about half the price I was quoted at the dealership, and it always ran smoothly. They always let me know about any issues with my car, but they tell me what actually needs to be done immediately and what can wait, so they don't end up charging me for uneccessary work. Also, they're one of the only shops I've been to where I never feel like they are talking down to me, which I really appreciate. Keep up the good work!

My son goes to college at St. Mike’s and he had an issue with a brake and a wheel bearing that needed to be repaired before he drove home for Spring Break. He looked up Twisted Wrench and based on the reviews took the car there as it wasn’t driveable to take it to our usual mechanic here in North Conway, NH. It would be pretty easy to try and take advantage of a 19 year old on car repairs and I was so pleased to hear he had a positive experience today. They did the repairs at a reasonable price and even offered to give him a ride back to campus while they did the work. I would recommend the place to anyone.

I went in for an oil change and afterwards they discovered my car (2003 Toyota Highlander) needed a new drive shaft, control arm bushings, as well as two exhaust leak repairs. I decided to have them investigate further and they took the time to look over the car for free a second time, and even showed me in person each problem that they saw from the underneath side of the car, which was so refreshing and helped me understand exactly what was wrong. I decided to go forward with the repairs and got a good feeling from these guys, like they were honest and didn't beat around the bush. They did a great job with the repairs from what I can tell, because my car now drives much more smoothly. I will definitely recommend them to my friends!

Brought in my ‘07 Civic for inspection last month. It failed miserably (rusted out underneath), but they were very accommodating. They took the time to show me the severity of the rust, and explain how I can avoid/postpone the rust rot in the future. I’ve been back three times in the last month. Twice for pre-buy inspections on potential vehicles, both of which were very thorough and honest. The third, yesterday, was to remove a half-stripped, half-ripped out O2 Sensor. They were honest about the uncertainty of the job, and warned it could take a few hours of labor to extricate the poor brutalized sensor. They did it in 30 minutes! Very pleased with their service, and will definitely be back.

In response to the Greg Johnson review: Twisted Wrench does not charge for pulling codes out of your car for a check engine light. Stop in any time and the codes will be pulled for free. If Mr. Johnson had paid $50.00 for this there would be a record of this in the computer system, yet there is no record of a Greg Johnson ever coming to Twisted Wrench.

Trust me. I did shop around. Eric was one of the few who responded to me promptly with the lowest quote, even without UVMMC employee discount. Most of the shops didn't even respond to the inquiries I made on their website. Makes you wonder whether they might be too busy to pay attention to what you actually need, doesn't it? In the world where you have to watch out for yourself because you are fed up with being taken advantage of, Eric protected me from overspending for something I didn't need. Thank heaven for him not to take advantage of someone like me who doesn't know anything about car parts. I planned to spend >$1000.00 but ended up spending only $300 and my 14-year-old car now runs so nicely with the soft sound of a purring cat instead of a speed boat.
