Broadway Gas is an outstanding full-service car repair center. Eli did a great job with my state car inspection. He was fast, was an excellent communicator, and treated me and my car really well. I’m new to Cambridge and love this business. They are friendly and dedicated to excellent service at a fair price. Highly recommend.

I've been taking my vehicles to Broadway auto care for a number of years and have always had a good experience. I’ve known Nick for over 10 years. Customer service is excellent (shout out to Denis) and they live by the golden rule. Can't recommend them enough! Good, honest mechanics! I am so appreciative to Eli for such a quick and thorough State inspection! He was very knowledgeable and communicative about my vehicle. I was able to come on my lunch break with only a short amount of time, and he took my car in immediately. All the staff were friendly and super helpful. The brake service was good and quick. Walk in inspections are good as well. Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable. Ely helped me today to reinspect my car after the computer was reset. Realty nice. The only downside is that the percentage service fee for using cards is high. Especially for a more expensive repair. Overall the prices were fair but the service fee I believe is four percent so it can be significant.

Long story short: I will definitely be coming here again for my future auto repair needs. Good customer service, quick turn around time, straightforward explanation of what needs to be/was done. Long story long: I was having some issues with my car and I went to another mechanic and they did an awful job. They “fixed the problem” and a week later my car was in worse shape than before and became unsafe to drive so I just chose the closest mechanic to take it to which is how I ended up here. I called on a Friday, they told me to bring it in 8 AM the following Tuesday. I was able to pick it up at 4 PM the same day and it was back in safe to drive condition. They told me all the services that needed to be done and then those that should be done soon. I told them which services I was going to hold off on and they did not push the matter. There was a mistake with the tip I gave on the credit card (accidentally a very very generous tip) and they helped me fix the mistake with no issues. It was overall a really good experience. Highly recommend!

I've gotten my oil changed, battery replaced, tires fixed, car system reprogrammed & other general questions I have. Very friendly and professional, someone even explained it to me! So really the state inspection process is annoying for them with cameras and having I guess tinted covers over your license plate is illegal but the service worker performing the inspection on my car checked in with me and just took the cover off so that I would pass. Overall I had a great experience and this is a lot about 5:30 PM after work too!

Nick at Broadway Gas is the best!! I originally came in for an inspection and Nick caught on to a weird sound coming from my engine. Turns out there was a leak in one of the pipes and it had all rusted over. Nick was very patient in explaining it all to me and showed me exactly where the problem was. He was professional, kind and very honest regarding what absolutely had to be replaced and what we could hold off on so I wasn’t spending money on anything that wasn’t necessary. I will definitely be returning for future car repairs!

Nick has provided me with the best customer care, and the work he puts into his job is unmatched. I came in to fix my brakes and tires, and both times my car was in and out in no time. My car has had no issues since, so I fully trust the work these guys do and are capable of. Nick and his fellow employees are extremely friendly and nice to work with. It was great customer service by the gentleman up front. I got my car in a timely manner and there was good communication. However, I received my car back and the drivers area was extremely dirty. There was oil dirt marks on my door handle, steering wheel, the mat had an oily substance that I could not remove with the whips I had and so therefore I had to come back and ask the mechanic to please use their cleaning products to remove the mess left behind. Otherwise service was great.

I had a very positive experience here today. I brought my car over because one of the windows would only go halfway up. They told me it would be something like $125 to open it up and take a look at it. I left my car there for a few hours and then received a call that it was ready to be picked up. They wound up being able to fix the issue without opening the door up and didn't charge me anything. They very easily could have still charged me that money. I'll be bringing business here in the future. Thanks!

I chose Broadway Gas and Auto because of the excellent reviews on Google, and I wasn't disappointed. I had been putting off maintenance on my car due to the pandemic and of course $$$. I knew I'd have a bit of work I'd need done so I wasn't surprised when I had a list of suggestions from the mechanic and owner. They weren't pushy about the repairs at all, but I went ahead and had them quote me. Yes, it was a lot but yet, it was still cheaper than what the dealership wanted to charge me. Of course, all the repairs came with a 2 year warranty so I felt good about going through with it. I got everything I needed done and now I can feel a positive difference with how my car drives. I feel like I put new life into it! Everyone I encountered at the shop was great to talk to; engaging in conversation with my fiancé and I (who are both pretty chatty). I felt like this was a place that appreciated my business and that they wanted me to feel like I could have a trustworthy place to return to. I know I'll be back- but hopefully not too soon.

I love these guys! Nick the owner is very professional and does whatever he can to make my experience a pleasant one. The car is always finished on time and fixed right the first time. Wendall is very knowledgeable and a great mechanic he listens to the customer and diagnosed my brake problem and fixed it without replacing anything. He fixed the exhaust on my 911 which I struggled to get right myself. I highly recommend these guys.

These guys are the real deal! I’m so grateful for them. I stopped in with a trunk that would not open. Even though they were busy, they made time for me! Hosea persisted in spite of great difficulty and figured out where the jam was. He spent a good hour helping me and when I went to ask what I owed them, I was told just to “pass the kindness along”. I took my car here for it's yearly inspection, which it unfortunately failed due to the brakes needing to be replaced. I called around the area to obtain a few quotes and they also ended up being the least expensive (not by a lot, but might as well save some money). I was able to bring my car back the same day I called, and it took around 2.5 hours to get the brakes changed. Afterwards, they performed a re-inspection and passed my car for the year. Unfortunately, a few days later the brakes were making noises, so I called the shop again and brought it in same-day. They took a quick look and fixed a minor issue without trying to charge me for anything further, which I was worried about. I’m not deducting a star for this because I do think it’s something that could have happened anywhere and they were very nice and quick about fixing it. I will plan to go here again next year for my inspection.

We first had our inspection done here, and it went quickly and smoothly! We called in the morning and they said we could come right in (we actually went somewhere else first, and they mistakenly told us that we couldn't get our car inspected until we had our license plates even though the RMV told us we needed to get our car inspected with our temporary license plates.) We really appreciated how professional and knowledgeable Dennis & the staff were, especially with changing COVID-related RMV rules. We came by a week after, when we got our license plates, about 30 minutes before they closed on a Saturday, and Dennis and someone else helped us get around some stripped rusty screws we had in our car to screw in our license plates at no cost. All in all, a great experience. Their easy availability, friendliness, and professionalism have made us return customers!

Everyone that works here is amazing. They’re usually pretty busy but for good reason-they're very organized, professional, and can provide any car service you need in a timely manner. I came in for an inspection missing a side mirror and Dennis was on the phone within 30 seconds with someone to order me a new one. By the next day I had a new mirror and it cost me significantly less than what others quoted me. Every experience I have had here has been nothing short of fantastic. 10/10 would recommend.

I'm usually in and out of there in 15-20 minutes depending on how many cars are ahead of me in line for inspection. Highly recommend. He would update me on the status of my car, give great recommendations, and check in after the repairs to make sure we were content with the results. My vehicle started to run poorly and I was running late for an appointment . Pulled into Broadway Gas and met a professional man by the name of Dennis whom listened to my concerns took my number and told me to head to my meeting and not to worry about it he’d have one of his techs look at the car for me and get back to me. Within 15 minutes I had a quote and a rough estimate of completion time. Dennis called my 30 minutes early to let me know my car was finished. The communication was incredible!!!!!! Broadway Gas is the only mechanic I will ever go to while I am in Boston. I took my car in to get inspected and she failed worse than Apollo 1. Nick (the owner and a true gentleman) took me aside walked me through everything and offer to get it done the next day. The guys worked hard to make sure everything I failed for was fixed and they went out of their way to ensure I everything else on my car was in tip-top shape. If you want a quality mechanic who fixes what needs to be fixed and let’s you know what should be fixed and than let’s you decide, this place is for you. If you like getting ripped off and having your mechanic milk you like a 12 year old heifer than go somewhere else!

Will absolutely come back next time I'm in town, if needed. Also, it's a full service gas station, so you never have to leave your vehicle if you're getting gas, which is new to me since I've never driven on this side of the country. Very pleased with the service.

The folks here were great to me. Brought my car in to change tires and get an inspection. Wanted them to check out my front breaks too. Have had a weird clicking on the front right side since I got the car 7 years ago but no one could figure out what it was...until I brought it here! Replaced my caliper and breaks and my '06 Civic is good as new. Super friendly staff and easy to communicate with. Also nice that it's within walking distance to some coffee shops to sit while you wait. Their waiting area is pretty tiny.

Have come here for a few repairs, including a new compressor, an exhaust issue, new brakes, inspections, and oil changes. Service is typically fast - drop off in the morning, have the issue diagnosed by 10am or so, and can have the repair completed by that evening. I haven't done enough repairs to know how their prices compare with other places, but Nick, the front-man of the operation, is straightforward and approachable. Will keep coming here as long as I live in the area.

On the busy corner of Broadway and Prospect streets in Cambridge MA is Broadway Gas & Auto. The staff is awesome. My first time here was just the other day. Needed an inspection done around 5PM. Even with customers getting gas, I easily parked my Jeep to the side and they politely let me know what I need and let me know the timeframe. In just 10 minutes, I was in and out with a MA state inspection. The waiting area inside is awesome. Pricing is all along the right wall, there's a TV, comfy seats. Spoke with one of their technicians. All in all a pretty excellent place to go.

I went to Broadway Gas for an inspection sticker. I showed up right when they opened and I didn’t have to wait more than a couple minutes! Brought my 2008 SUV to the shop a few weeks ago and they did some good work replacing shocks and bushings and fixing a loose plate. A week later I noticed the plate was loose again and I brought it back. They fixed the plate and, at my request, looked for clogged drainage tubes. They fixed the plate and cleared out the drains and didn't ask for a penny. Will definitely be bringing my car back to them next time.

I had brought in my car midday to get it inspected and it turned out that my muffler needed to be fixed (it certainly did and I had seen that coming). My car was towed to Broadway on my tow drivers recommendation. The car had totally died. I figured it was the alternator, which it was, along with some other things. The car was ready on time and was running beautifully, but I heard another noise so I took it back to them and I needed control arms replaced. And then on top of that my computer in the car died! Long story short Broadway fixed everything and also got me a refurbished computer for my car as one from Ford would have taken two weeks to get and cost $1,400. I needed my car back to go to an appointment and Broadway had it back to me on time. The staff there explained everything to me that was being done and I would happily recommend them if you need your car repaired.

I’ve been here a few times: state inspection, TNC inspection, and oil change. They were busy the day of the state inspection, but the wait was reasonable. For the TNC and Oil Change they were not as busy, so there was little to no wait. They’ve always been friendly, answered all my questions, and the prices are the best in my area. The day I had my car inspected, there was a man who had a car inspected, left, and brought a different vehicle to be inspected and demanded to be prioritized (as he was bringing them multiple cars in a day). They politely explained that I had been waiting and he would be seen in the order that he arrived. I liked that (because honestly, if I’m bringing you several vehicles, I’d probably be kind of entitled about it too, incorrectly), so they were fair about it. I have had only positive experiences here, and I will continue to go to them.

After moving to Massachusetts from California I needed have my car inspected for registration at the RMV. I brought my car to Broadway gas on what were admittedly questionable tires. Nick and his team let me know I'd need new tires and rear brakes to pass. But with other appointments later in the day and the need to have my car registered shortly, I didn't have long to get it done. The shop ordered the replacement tires, had them delivered quickly, and installed the new tires and brakes before the promised time. All in all, I was in and out in under 3 hours, which was great considered the tires weren't in stock! Nick and the staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. Fair pricing and service. I brought my car in for an inspection almost a year ago, and was rejected (I knew it would be) becuase of a problem with a tail light. The issue was electrical and I had been quoted hundreds of dollars just to have it looked at by the VW deasllership. Broadway was able to do the work at a much more reasonable price so I went with them. A few weeks after the work was completed, the taillight went out again. Broadway was apologetic and re-repaired the issue at no cost to me. About a year later the light is still working, and I'm very pleased with the overall transaction.

Broadway Gas is a great place to get your car worked on. I've lived in Cambridge for five years now and in that time have had a mirror replaced, bumper replaced, break pads and rotors replaced, had my car inspected for the state, and had multiple oil changes. Each experience has gone very, very well. The young owner, Nick, is honest and forthright about everything that is right or wrong with the vehicle (in my case a 2007 VW Jetta), and explains your options and different pricing without being pushy. It can be difficult to find the right mechanic in a new city, with Nick and Broadway Gas you can rest assure that you are always getting an honest and knowledgable assessment and great service.
