They were very courteous they were willing to take my car at a moments notice even though I canceled appointments and Rescheduled my appointments. Their prices were fair and their punctuality for getting even the most tedious job completed was amazing! I even thought a particular service needed to be done for my particular vehicle and they were honest enough to tell me I would be wasting my money if I had it done and it did not need to be done. They were also perceptive enough to let me know other things needed to be done, and we’re willing to do them and quoted me for the services that needed to be done while they were working on something else on my car and I had the option to refuse the service I appreciate their honesty. I will be going back for all my automotive repairs.

Fantastic experience! This was my first time taking my vehicle to Rob'e Mans for service and it won't be the last. I was very impressed with their prompt and quality service. My car needed a decent bit of work, but it was all completed in one business day. Great experience start to finish. I took my BMW somewhere else before taking it to Rob’e Man’s and they were going to charge me thousands of dollars for something that Rob’e Man’s diagnosed as just a belt replacement; so I consider Rob’e Man’s a very honest shop. I used to take my Honda Accord to Rob’e Man’s back in the 90s, but now they have a European division, so I will be taking my Bimmer there as well from now on. Ashleigh is very knowledgeable and friendly, and Andy is a great mechanic. They will treat you right. A good friend told me to take my car there, and he was right.

The people here are great! I called because my MINI was not starting. I felt like it was battery but wasn’t sure. During the call, I was told to bring the car by and they would check it out, even with a busy schedule. Within ONE hour, my car was ready to go! The staff was pleasant and helpful the entire time! I can't say I have a lot of experience with vehicle service and repair but I can say that for most jobs I have don't outside of an oil change it is typically a several day affair. I dropped my vehicle off early Thursday morning between 0700 and 0800 and I got a call about it being ready that same day early afternoon. I was totally prepared for it to be several days before I got the vehicle hearing that message was a very pleasant surprise. The work seemed to be performed well and the staff was very friendly throughout the whole exchange.

I would certainly recommend Rob'e Mans, for quality service. My AC was repaired and serviced in good time. I was given a ride by their shuttle back home when I dropped off the vehicle & was picked up when they finished. They carried me along every step of the way with the required information until completion.

My family and I have used Rob’e Mans for decades. I trust them to do the work. Over the years they have serviced: 1993 Honda Del Sol – 2003 to 2010 1997 Lexus ES 300 – 2010 to 2016 2016 Subaru Outback – 2016 to present They have always been fair and HONEST. They have never put a hard sell on anything and worked with me to prioritize repairs and services. On top of that the included shuttle has been very helpful as I can drop my car off and get a ride to work without having to co-ordinate anyone else. To be fair, they are not the cheapest mechanics around (excellent value though), but pay for cheap and you get cheap results.

Audi of just over 100K mi developed coolant leak. The search for the leak required removal and replacement of multiple hoses/pipes and crankcase vent valve. The repairs took longer than I expected (8 days) and the cost high, but the communication with Rob'e Mans service dept. was excellent. So far no warning lights and car runs well. I recommend this company.

Brought car in to diagnosis low oil pressure problem after an oil change at a different fast oil change business. The original business could not diagnose the issue that they caused. The guys at Rob’e Man listen to my suspicion that something was wrong with how the other shop had replaced the oil filter. This turned out to be the problem as a part that seals the filter in the canister had been left off. It was quickly replaced and the issue fixed. Normal diagnosis for an oil pressure issue starts with removing the sensor which, in my car, would have taken 2-4 hours of labor. Because they looked at the simple fix first, they saved me hundreds of dollars.

I was having a noise with my steering and Kenny suggested it might be the hose. We agreed to start there and see if we could eliminate it. Well it did stop the noise and I couldn't be happier. I had just about given up on anyone fixing the problem. I have used Robert Man's since 1997 with my Honda Accord. I have not used them too much since my 2010 Honda CRV (simply because I didn't need to and I live pretty far away) but I knew they could fix this issue for me. And they did. I highly recommend them and Kenny was great at explaining in layman terms that I could understand.

I brought in a 98 civic to see why it felt unsafe to drive over 50mph. They briefly diagnosed the car, they stopped once they saw the repairs would exceed 5k. I liked getting the pictures emailed and them looking out for the customer by stopping the diag to check in with me. I declined the work and they helped me out with the diag fee. They seemed very trustworthy so I brought in my 09 Odyssey with a bad alternator and power steering issue. They upsold me on a timing belt and tensioner, which I appreciated because I didn't have a record of that being done with 180k miles. I wanted them to check the suspension for any can of worms before I approved the work. They said that the suspension looked fine. I approved the work and it was done in a timely manner. They replaced the high-pressure power steering hose. When I picked up the car the steering was tighter than before. I've since replaced the power steering pump which was needed to complete the repair. I was a little disappointed that the tech didn't mention the power steering was still not working properly. To be clear the high-pressure hose was bad and needed to be replaced. It seemed out of character for this shop to not thoroughly diagnose the issue. I still recommend people to go there as I feel like I got a one-off experience. I've heard positive reviews by word of mouth several times. They are expensive, but they are trustworthy, they never tried to take advantage of me. Which is #1 in my book.

My car broke down one evening and was towed to Rob E Man's. When we talked in the morning, they told me when they would be able to determine the problem and give me a quote. I was making a stop in Birmingham from New Orleans on my way to Cincinnati, and had the dreaded "Check Engine" light come on right after entering the city limits. I drove to Rob'e first thing in the morning because I wanted to make sure I could either finish my trip or that I could get it fixed. When I came in through the door someone at the front desk (sorry I didn't get your name) acknowledged my presence instantly, listened to what my problem was and got on their way to check it out with me - without an appointment. Now, not only did this person take the time to check what the issue was, but they said that I should be able to finish my trip, that they'd reset the light and to make sure to have it looked at when I'm in Cincinnati if the light came on again. I was never sold any service, or pushed to fix the issue asap. When I asked what I owed them, I was told they wouldn't charge for this. I feel bad for not paying for any service (and I may end up never doing so as I don't live in Birmingham) since Rob'e provided me with the peace of mind that I could finish a planned trip without blowing up my engine. Although I did not use Rob'e's "repair" services, I think this experience speaks volumes about the kind of business this is. Thanks again!

Rob’e Mans was introduced to me 7 years ago and I haven't thought to have my vehicles serviced anywhere else. I appreciate that they send me a form of all the repairs that need to be done along with a list of all the items checked on the car during service. I can either approve or deny the repairs online and they also will take time to explain which repairs are urgent over which ones I should be aware of that will need work later on. The front desk guys are welcoming and helpful as soon as you walk in the door. I can always trust my car repairs at robe mans.

I had taken it to BMW dealership and wanted to replace my exhaust system, then I took it to Christian Brothers and they said it was a fan in the air conditioning system under the console. After reading the reviews of Rob e Mann, I decided to take my BMW 645ci to get its overall health. Andy was very detailed about what repairs needed to be completed immediately vs the repairs that could be completed at a later date. Andy was very knowledgeable and detailed about the repairs. After being told I would have to wait several months to get my air repaired at the Infiniti dealership my husband looked up this location due to their high ratings. I was able to go online and choose two available appointments. The next morning I received an email confirming one of the appointment times. I dropped my car off. Within an hour or so, I received a phone call and text message giving details about the repairs and an itemized list of costs. All of my questions were answered and I was able to receive my car back the same day. I would definitely recommend and will be returning for future repairs.

I've been going here for years. They're probably not the cheapest in town, but they're honest, which goes far in my book. They text a link to a detailed inspection report that shows what needs to be done immediately, in the future, or is good to go. And when you speak with them on the phone, they shoot you straight as far as what's absolutely necessary vs. what can wait for the next time. This beats going to a quickly lube and them telling you all of the work you need done same-day or else the wheels will fall off the car.

I called to see if they would have time to look at a Hyundai Tucson while my son was home from school. They were able to get it in the shop, diagnose the problem, order a part, have the part delivered and fix the problem in less than 48 hours. The compressor had gone out and had to be replaced. They called and told me what the problem was and gave me a quote that was to the penny accurate. Very impressed with their service! Would highly recommend!

The best mechanics around! Dropped off my car (04 Camry) for a new radiator on Tuesday morning. They advised me that the car would likely not be ready until Thursday afternoon, but to my surprise it was ready Wednesday morning instead. My new radiator is running perfectly. The leak symptoms my car was experiencing- sloshing and bubbling noises under the hood and a rapidly-emptying coolant reservoir- are gone. They had sent me a quote via text first thing Monday morning after I had submitted an appointment request on Sunday afternoon. I likely would have paid at least a few hundred bucks more had I taken my car to a dealership repair shop instead. Rob'e Mans saved me lots of time and money, and I'll be bringing my car here in the future for sure.

I recently had my 2008 Honda Civic towed to Rob'e Mans Automotive Service so that it could get looked at after a small incident and oh. My. Goodness... Everyone there was absolutely amazing! They were very professional, nice, quick, and very fair with their pricing. I was even given a ride to and from the shop from them as well! I recently moved to Birmingham from out of state and was looking for mechanics in the area and I am so happy that I went to them. Great place as far as I'm concerned. Took my wife's lexus hybrid there expecting a several thousand dollars bill. They had it about 3 hours and the mechanic called me personally saying that the car was ready. I was shocked and asked what my bill was. He told me $98.00 it was just a plug that came loose. They could have told me anything and I would have had to go with it. They seem fair and honest to me.

I’ve been trying to diagnose an engine issue. There are a variety of things that it could be. Given the age and miles of my vehicle, i initially though going to the maintenance team at a local Toyota dealer was the best place to start for expertise. Boy was I wrong. Lots of labor $ later to “diagnose” I left with an incorrect status - a blown head gasket. That would’ve been a huge investment and perhaps not worth doing on this car. Just to be sure, I had the Robe E Man team also look at it. First, their rates are MUCH more reasonable. Second, I think they ACTUALLY examined the car vs the dealer charging me/claiming to have done so. Robe E Man team did NOT agree it was a blown gasket and continued working with me to figure out the ultimate issue. I will never set foot in a dealership service dept. again - especially not Hoover. This team is knowledgeable, honest, guarantee their work, are on time and have great customer service (updates on diagnostics, approvals prior to starting work, shuttle to bring you to/from the shop). Really impressed with Rob’e Mans. Their initial diagnosis indicated a bad wheel bearing on the rear axle, and I told them to go ahead a fix it, but it’s an expensive repair (1800-2000). They called me back a little later and said that they couldn’t guarantee that it would fix the problem, and that they found a couple other smaller issues that may have been causing the vibration issues. He said that despite the vibration still present on the back end, they thought the car was safe to drive and that I could always bring it back if it was still vibrating. The other repairs ended up fixing the problem, and my car drives great now. I was very impressed with Rob’e Mans transparency. They could have milked me for another 2k in repairs, but had the integrity to admit that it may not have been what my 4Runner needed. They have certainly earned my business going forward.

I just moved to Birmingham and was looking for a reliable mechanic who wouldn't overcharge me since I know literally zero things about the correct prices for car repairs. I had heard good things about Rob'e Mans, and was not disappointed! They gave me a full inspection report of my car (with pictures of the problems included) and worked with me to figure out what needed to be fixed most urgently vs. what could be fixed later. As someone who has an old car and not a lot of extra money to put into upkeeping it, I really appreciated that they were transparent about the prices of all the services and prioritized what was most important to complete that day. They were also very fast - I dropped my car off around 8 AM and they were done with all the repairs by noon! Overall, I would definitely recommend Rob'e Mans if you're looking for a good auto repair shop!

I've been getting my cars maintained at Rob'e Mans since my first Honda in the mid 80's. I'm still a client because they are helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant and most of all honest and above-board. So I don't purchase an auto unless it's one they work on! They never do any work without calling you first and giving you an estimate. They also let you know if something can wait or not, meaning is it safe to wait. Often times, they have helped a mechanically challenged gal, understand what they are talking about. My 2005 Civic is going through many age-related, wear & tear problems and they guide me through what is most important. This last visit was a lot and it was noted after I had settled, that I needed a new battery and one was installed free of charge!! Once, Pep Boys tried to take advantage of me and charge $$$ to replace something, but Rob'e Mans fixed it for $15 ... Because that's all it needed! This has been my place of choice for almost 20 years for taking my Honda. Great customer service, but more importantly it is done correctly and I wouldn't care if they were rude and could fix it where others didn't. I once took my old civic to three different mechanics and spent no telling how much to NOT even get the problem fixed. Then someone recommended this place, saying that it could be pricey, but well worth it. Rob'e Manz knew immediately what the issue was and it cost less for them to do it than for me to take it to three separate cheap mechanics. Back in the day I think they specialized in Honda only, but now they do other types. Highly recommend them!

I need a very good used car. Drove a 2014 CRV & it drove good but I needed to have it inspected before purchase. Found out it was going to need around $3K for various repairs. Spent $125 & saved some potential repair bills. First time I have been there in years & I knew nobody. Whole new staff & mechanics. They sure have expanded! If I get another Honda or the other cars they service, I'll be back for service. I have always had my 2 cars serviced with Robe Mans. 1st my 1980 Accord which was a great used car. I had but some plugs in my Accord & 2 days later it was misfiring bad. Was driving down Central Avenue taking a cruise, saw their sign & drove in their 1st hole in the wall place on Central. Both were very nice & we struck up a friendship. I was told to get those Champion plugs out & they put NGKs in. They gave it a looking over. No more problems! I was introduced to SCCA SOLO 1 & was hooked for 3-4+ years. I spent at least $2500 on the '80 Accord doing suspension, exhaust, etc so it was really set up to handle better. Maybe a year after I put all that $$ on plastic, I purchased a 1988 all White ACURA Integra SE on a whim. Beautiful car. It was always serviced @ the dealer or Robe Mans & only let a couple service dudes work on it. I still own it & has about 87K original miles on the engine, clutch & timing belt replaced in mid 60s. Have all service records. This car was set up to Autocross by Robe Mans. They had a Robe Mans Challenge one year for Honda/Integra cars & I won $300, maybe more. I let them upgrade whole suspension w/ front torsion bars, 5 way Tokico shocks + many other great things. I don't have the $$$ to put in it as I need an automatic due to many back surgeries & don't need to be using foot for clutching the car. If running & gone over, I think it would be a great car for the Tuner folks or maybe a 1st car for whomever. They would have no problem working on it. My other car was hit, got not much $$ for it. If I had an income, I would have it towed & fixed + buy another vehicle. I still love her, don't want to let her go, but I need to. Paint needs 2 small DIY repairs & also a good detail bring the White back out to blind you. Few Black trim pieces have some sun damage & need replacing or just spray Black. Tint is lifting on back window & used to be Blacker all around. I didn't drive the Integra like I had planned on as I was leasing a SUV & kept forgetting to take her out for a good run. One big problem with it, I let it sit too long & when I did go try one day, battery was great but would not fire up. My fault! Not sure what has to be done to get it to fire. I wrote a lot but I figured I'd mention the '88 Integra so that someone may read & be interested in buying it. Thanks Marc Lerner

My reliable Honda exploded under the hood after I parked. The blast was horrible. Strangely, it would still start and run. At 82, this is a nightmare for me. I drove home in shock. The next day a friend followed me to RobeMan. Calmly, Rick said he knew exactly what it was and they could fix it! I thought my car was destroyed. The A/C had exploded but the blast had shot straight down! A 4 inch hole was in the tube. RobeMan checked it out, contacted me with a precise list of what Had to be fixed and what could wait until Later. I called and Kenny answered my many questions and concerns.They repaired my Honda cr-v in 1.5 days*. The 2 year, 12,000 mile warranty on parts and labor was reassuring. Rick Jarrett and Kenny Krackenburger are knowledgeable, helpful, will answer all my questions, and, most importantly, are Trustworthy!! First of all, let me say that I am a female who has always taken my used Honda's to the dealership...I guess right there I show my lack of knowledge regarding cars! I currently drive a 2017 Honda Accord Sport. I have been s driving Hondas for a while now. Current Honda has 65,000 miles on it. This Honda had error lights coming on and going off. More times than not the lights concerned the brakes-ABS and a little care skidding, but also ones I could not interpret. There were also lights that I do not recall, but would would come on that I decided had to do with the electrical engine issues. For me the lights coming on were a mystery because there was NO REASON for them. The car ran well, so I took it into Honda and their solution was that I needed a special little part that was "out of stock" which had a $2100 purchase price. But since it was "out of stock" the car could not be repaired that day and they sent me home with 2 other companies that might have sell it to me....They told me I could call around and see if I could get the part....NOT WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO! So since I retired, I went home to arrange for my "money man" to get the cash in my bank account!! So I told my neighbor and she found out that Rob"e Man' Automotive was a good place to go. I my car in and left it for them to c what they thought.! As planned, it stayed overnight. The next day they called me to tell me that the car seemed to be OK and there was nothing to do but maybe change the battery (2017). I said OK. So I did pick up the car and it was a price tag of less than $200 dollars! Now there is no guarantee, but the guys in the office even searched the internet to see if there were any answers there. I think that is 11% of 2100 or at least close to that. They even cleaned the car! For 2 days the car has run well with NO additional error lights...even if it starts doing it again I am confident that these guys will again do their best to fix it. This was service and interest and a seek and find mission...I am just so glad that I took the car to Rob'e Man Automotive...And that I have also learned never to take a used car to the dealership again!

Robe's has been doing it right for many years now. Gosh, maybe 15 years ago, I had my old Accord worked on there. I came to pick it up on a hot summer evening after hours, and it wouldn't start. I called the phone number on the invoice, and amazingly somebody answered the phone. (Expectations already exceeded.) The gentleman said he knew exactly what the problem was (the main relay...common fault on these cars), made a special trip back to the shop, and fixed it on the spot. More recently, we had my wife's Odyssey worked on. They easily could have sold us a $700 power steering pump replacement, but instead they told us that there was a recall on this part and that we should take it to a Honda dealer for a free replacement. They also could have sold us $1700 in shocks that I actually asked to be replaced, but they checked them out and said they were fine. (Actually still not sure about that, guys.) That's how it's done and that's why I'll always have my Hondas serviced at Robe's.

Have been using them for 8 years, and they are polite, thorough and I never have concerns they are trying to take me for a ride. For example, after a recent major job involving them taking apart the engine to get to a broken part, when I was paying up they mentioned that a piece had broken off of the radiator and they replaced the whole radiator free of charge (parts and labor) since that piece was not repairable. The service advisor's words? 'We broke it taking it apart so of course we replaced it and that charge is on us." Normally, I'd have nothing but great things to say about a visit here. I've had cars serviced well here for years. This week while having some minor service on a vehicle, I had some difficulty with a part being replaced, and being charged for it, that I explicitly indicated that I did not want replaced. I was pressed for time when I picked up the vehicle, so I didn't push hard at the time to have the charge removed from my bill, but I did grumble about it. I was also surprised that there was no offer to reduce or remove the overcharge (maybe involved $20-40). My son is a student at UAB, but we are from Texas. His truck wouldn't start one morning. The tow service would only take the car to Goodyear told my son that it was the fuel pump and that it would cost 795.00 to repair. I wanted a second opinion and called Rob'e Mans. Without telling them the price we'd already received, I asked them to quote a fuel pump replacement on my son's truck. They were $200 cheaper! So, I paid $65 to have his truck towed from Goodyear to Rob'e Mans. Shortly after the truck arrived I received a phone call saying his truck was ready for pick up. There was nothing wrong with the fuel pump. The intake valve (or something like that) was clogged. They cleaned it and I am one happy UAB mom! Shame on you Good year!
