We took my wife’s “baby” 2000 Subaru Outback to A & A The Shop in Eagle River Alaska to take car of some deferred maintenance which I was not skilled at performing. Aaron, was very helpful with creating the work order which fit our budget and priorities and quickly set about taking care of the work that same day. (Lucky for us, there was a cancellation which allowed for us to get seen right away). Aaron and Zack communicated with us via text during the work and we had our car back out before closing time. Their price was fair and actually came in below the estimate. While we we settling up, Aaron went over the inspection report with us and we scheduled for some follow up work. We will continue to go back to see them since they are so attentive, skilled, accommodating, and nice to work with. Fortunately for us, they are just down the road so I could even walk there if necessary if I needed to pick the car up. Give them a shot guys, I’m sure that you will be very pleased with the outcome. I called for an appointment to get my oil changed. I casually mentioned I needed new tires, but knew A&A didn't sell them. I was delighted they were able to recommend and buy tires, then mount them after my oil change. During routine diagnostics, they also noticed my seven year old battery was weak and had a replacement they could put in while I was there. It is so nice to have so many services offered in one visit!

Truly enjoyed my experience with A&A. We got a 120 K service done on our tundra. Aaron at the front was very knowledgeable, kind, courteous, and explained everything that would be done and was very prompt with returning calls and getting us a quote. They’ve gone above and beyond to get me in for emergencies and they will treat your car like their own. A & A was able to diagnose an unusual sound as a damaged drive shaft on my 2005 Outback - apparently we hit some ice or other obstruction over the winter that dinged the shaft. They were able to get the replacement parts installed quickly. Great service and quality workmanship. Highly recommended!

My initial experience with the shop was great and I was very satisfied. Last year, I had them replaced the motor in my Subabru and had no problems or issues. Also, they have done an alignment and changed my tires last year. This spring, I brought my Subaru in for my summer tires and they are after market wheels. I didn’t think there would be a problem since every experience I’ve had has been satisfactory with this company but the technician did not tighten my Lugnuts down all the way. I drove around for about a week and a half wondering why I had a knocking in my front end. Come to find out the Lugnuts weren’t tightened and the only thing that was keeping my wheel on was my locknut. Fortunately the company came through and replace my Lugnuts with a satisfying outcome. Zack is a shining star in this company he was amazing, he drove over 30 miles to make sure my wheels were safe to put on my car. thanks for everything A&A the shop Eagle river.

Prior to taking my car here, it always felt that as a woman I would get taken advantage of when it came to maintenance and repairs. I just wanted to find a reputable shop with trustworthy mechanics to get the job done without getting the run around. Initially I came here because of convenience instead of going to the dealership. It didn't take me long to realize that Zack and his employees are genuine, honest and knowledgeable. In the last 6 years as a customer, I know that I can definitively trust in them to take care of my car without trying to upsell me or recommend services that I do not need. Eagle River A & A visits are always 👍🏼 I’ve always owned Subaru’s. A & A has always had exceptional service. On my most recent visit to A & A for an oil change, they detect a leak. I had already had the car to Continental Service department twice for this problem . ( The car is under warranty) On the last visit, they assured me it had been fixed. I've taken the car to Continental 3 times for the same issue. I was blown off the first time. Second time, I was told the car wasn't safe to be driving. They repaired it. Same problem, took it back a 3rd time, I was told again it's not safe to be driving. A & A caught the problem twice. Had I listened to the dealership, I'd still be driving a car that Continental has deemed twice as unsafe to be driving. I appreciate A & A’s attention to detail to keep their customers safe.

I have been extremely pleased with every interaction with A&A! Zack is very detail-oriented, and takes the time to explain each issue he has dealt with, on my Subaru. He is very fair in price, and consistently lower than any other shop. He takes lots of time to answer any questions, and believe me, I always take up a lot of his time for that purpose! He recently did a lot of work on my car, and worked very hard to have it back to me so I would have it for out of town guests. His shop also offers a warranty on his work and parts, which is an added bonus. I will not take my car anywhere else to have work done!

I have always had great service both at the Eagle River shop and their Anchorge shop. The Eagle River shop has taken their time to help me out with some minor fixes, such as once I had a rock stuck in the brakes. I had no idea what was wrong and it made such a racket. Zach took my vehicle right in, they took the rock out and sent me on my way. The last time Mark was super busy but took the time to give me an estimate of what the problem was and what I should do. I appreciate having a local shop that believes in great service.

Recently I brought my 2009 Subaru into the shop with no appointment. It was somewhat of an emergency with me since I had broken a couple Lugs. Both Zach and Mike were helpful, polite and courteous. They made room for my problem even on a very busy fully appointed schedule. They are men of integrity, fair in their prices, and do honest work.. I do not hesitate to bring my car to their shop for any service needed.

I've had a great experience every time. Down to earth, strait-forward, mellow, no-nonsense, and most importantly they fix the problems. Diagnoses has always been fast and completely accurate. Not just mindlessly praising them, I've simply had lots of other mechanics in my lifetime, and most end up being a letdown, at least in one way or another. A&A has also done quick fixes, such as a loose, noisy belt on my Subaru (around 20 minutes) without a charge. They've earned a good review from me 👍

I’ve used both the Anchorage and Eagle River “A&A The Shop” locations. Both locations did outstanding work and provided excellent customer service. But I must mention Zack at the Eagle River location. He went above and beyond my expectations; I had just met him, was broke-down along the road and couldn’t get an immediate tow. Zack helped me retrieve the car, had it quickly diagnosed (transmission), gave me a fast turnaround date with a fair price, plus gave me a loaner vehicle! He has set a high standard. Won’t use any other shop for our Subaru.

My Subaru had a serious problem with interior window fogging in the cold weather. It had been checked out by three other shops over the course of two winters (including the Subaru dealership service center) and they all said they couldn’t find the problem. I was so frustrated and ready to sell the car, but just couldn’t do so knowing it would be a safety hazard for someone else! The guys at A&A took extra time to search out the problem; they listened to my explanation of what had already been done, and then went the extra mile. The issue was found - a tiny, broken wire, so easy to overlook, but 100% crucial to the proper airflow in the car. They repaired it quickly and I feel like I’m driving a new car! I so appreciate their willingness to not just take the easy road with quick and inattentive inspections.

It turns out it may have just been cold - but the shop made sure they ran the car through many tests to make sure that was the problem. We never feel overcharged, and they walk us through all the items they will do and will not do more work than the vehicle was brought in for. Best place for preventive maintenance and to get any Subaru work done. I’ve had only Subarus for 20 years and for 15 years relied on A&A in Anchorage for service, pre-purchase inspections, etc. Been using Zack’s A&A in Eagle River exclusively for 5 years w/same great service @ fair price. When somebody stole my electric Subaru key and I couldn’t bring vehicle to him, Zack made house call into the mountains to create a new key. I’ve bough Subarus new/used from many sources but only Zack’s A&A does my parts & service. Fast, courteous service—in-and-out within an hour for oil change, fluids check, etc.

As far as I can tell everything is working fine. I have one complaint that after my alternator was replaced, my car started squealing every time I turned it on, took sharp turns or accelerated. I stopped by the shop in Anchorage and they fixed it in less than 30 minutes and didn't charge me for the service.
