Cynthia Newton took my case when I had to change attorneys, there was only two months left to file my case for the mva, to meet the two year statute of limitations. I had lost confidence in the attorney I had since the accident and we mutually parted but it was not easy to find another attorney for my complex case that entangled workman's compensation and pre existing conditions. Thomas Coon was recommended by a friend of a friend attorney and he said whoever Mr. Coon works with in the firm will be good as well because he wouldn't have it any other way. It's true, and the attorneys have different areas of expertise and have no problem brainstorming with each other and consulting one another. Cynthia asked Chris Frost about how my workman's compensation would affect my case and I met with her as well. It's a one stop attorney shop, between all their areas they can handle just about anything it seems. It was my experience that they are careful about who they represent, they have to really believe in your case and Cynthia was straight forward from the start that I would not be adequately compensated for my losses but she would try for the policy limits from the at fault driver and my underinsured motorist insurance. We conferred throughout the whole process, and she always sought my approval first on her letters out. She has a good team of helpers, Kristin and Claire, who worked on my case even on the weekends from the email correspondence. I had a major surgery to worry about and knowing that my case was being taken care of took some of the stress off. Not all attorneys are like that. She knew what she was doing and represented me well, she took what she thought was relevant to make a good case from all the information I gave her and she looked over all my medical records carefully. She got the job done in the two months time. We had the best results we could have which will help a lot with my upcoming expenses. She had a good reputation with the adjuster from my insurance company and that gave us a lot of credibility. I highly recommend Cynthia, she is compassionate and has good rationale. During this long and very stressful time, the associates here helped me through every obstacle. My lawyer Scott Sell went above and beyond by communicating with my private long term disability provider on my behalf, advocating so that I didn't loose those benefits while my social security case dragged on. He even helped me to collect myself when SS notified me that a second hearing was needed. He answered all my questions and never talked down to me. This firm worked with me to make the best of an unfortunate accident. I was hit on my bicycle on the way to work one day. It broke a few ribs and a collarbone. Initially, they helped me find a great chiropractor, explained the different types of claims and made sure to have medical and property damages deducted from the PIP. I am taking time out to say just how grateful I am to the Attorneys and Thomas Coon Newton & frost. In early 2017 I became disabled and unable to work. A successful career had allowed me to pay for Social Security Disability Insurance for over 30 years. When it came time to file my claim I started the process, but quickly became overwhelmed, and the first denial was pretty hard. I wish I had found TCNF sooner. It is an old cliche, but an apt one that once I met with Scott and Holly I felt a tremendous weight lift. It took almost 2 years to the day before I was finally given a hearing in front of a judge. A Month later a decision was rendered fully in my favor. A Month after _that_ I finally received an award letter. Almost 2 months after receiving my award letter I Social Security started sending me paper checks (Even though Social Security nearly demands you set up automatic electronic deposit). Unfortunately that was not the end of my struggles. Social Security is under staffed, their systems are decades out of date ,highly inefficient, and the social security staff have nowhere near the support of automation found in most large service oriented organizations like Amazon, PGE, or ADP. Months started to pass after my decision, regular benefits started on time as stated in my award letter, but the “back pay” was nowhere to be found. Social Security made the decision and award over a year and a half after benefits should have started. This large lump sum was documented in my award letter, but months and months passed, and it still had not arrived. This is where My representatives at TCNF really came through. TCNF has resources, and information about how the system works, that is just not available to non-professionals, average citizens. It took 10 months after my hearing before things where settled, and TCNF helped me through it all. The staff at TCNF are experienced, diligent and get it done. I wish I had selected them sooner, and saved myself a ton of stress and complications.
