These guys were amazing. I had called other places who gave me more worry and stress about my situation because I was possibly facing a 2nd DUI charge due to almost being at the 7 year mark since my 1st. When I had almost given up Matthew gave me a call back, put me on ease, and walked me through the whole process. They were very affordable compared to other places I called. At the end of the call, I hired them. My attorney, Tyler Steele, very professional, kind, and he kept me up to date regarding my case every step of the way. I was being charged with 5 things and the Tempe court did try to use my 1st DUI against me. I was facing a possible 2nd Super Extreme DUI. Tyler submitted my mitigation packet and I got a good plea deal. I got 4 charges dismissed and plead guilty to a 1st Extreme DUI and had less jail time. I am very pleased with their services and even after I had pleaded guilty. Tyler followed up via email letting me know the rest of things that I needed to complete with recommendations on where I could complete my alcohol screening classes which was helpful. I ended up going with what they recommended was offered a discount for being a client of theirs which was really nice. I would highly recommend them and they are very knowledgeable of how Tempe courts work.

I unfortunately was at the wrong place at the wrong time and landed myself my first dui, to make matters worse i was being charged with not just a dui but an extreme dui and 4 other counts, I quickly researched online to find a good attorney to help fight my case and found Mathew Lopez Law. I had the pleasure of speaking to Mr. Lopez who seemed very educated and reassured me him and his team would have my back. my assigned attorney was Ms. Devon Montgomery, now I no longer live in AZ so the fact that she was able to handle everything for me while I was in a completely different state was incredible and so much of a relief, Ms. Montgomery was also able to get 4/5 counts dropped and even shortened my jail time and more, she did a great job during this terrifying situation for me. The others at the law firm were always very polite and helpful whenever I called, it is difficult to get through at times but that’s just because they’re super busy. I would def recommend Mathew Lopez law if you’ve got an unfortunate case like mine they were also the best price i found.

I am not one to post reviews. However, I had more than just an ordinary DUI. I am only being this transparent because I utilized this exact tool (reviews) for my decision throughout the process. Because at the end of the day, this is really the only decision you can make that will have a material effect on your case. I was charged with: 1) Extreme DUI 2) Hit and Run (accused of leaving the scene on foot) 3) Criminal Damage (accused of smashing a bystanders window as I fled) 4) Refusal of breathalyzer 5) Honestly forget the rest - there were 6-7 charges all together I plead guilty to impaired to the slightest degree (less than .08) and all other charges were dropped. To be honest, I was very happy with this result given the circumstances. The police report was NOT pretty. I spoke with 4 attorneys. Not only was Matt Lopez law the most affordable (money was NOT the deciding factor, I was willing to pay whatever necessary to correct this issue), they were extremely professional, responsive and most importantly - very knowledgeable. I won't go in to too much detail about this but lets just say they have their methods that only can benefit their clients. I worked directly with Tyler Steele and was charged through the Tempe Courts. Can't recommend this firm enough.

I believe as a team they do A great job. Serena is clutch she felt like a great point of contact and always answered promptly. I do believe they deal with a lot of cases but need to Remember it may be the individual you are representing first time in this situation so the terms and the process needs to be explained better. Tyler was a good person to work with as well. I do want to touch base that the advertising of the $100-$150 off if I mention it through yelp didn’t work, I messaged and Matt replied but never acknowledged after twice asking about it only caring if I was ready to work with his company. I wish I could Matt 6 stars! He really helped me out in my time of need. I was charged with a first time super extreme DUI offense in Mesa, which I hear is a very strict part of town. I am from California so I didn't expect how super extreme the penalties of a DUI would be. I had called a few other lawyers around Arizona, but from the moment that I spoke with Matthew Lopez I felt instantly relieved. From his knowledge of the laws to making me feel like a close friend, and that is what made it a lot less nerve wrenching. Even when we were hit with a few speed bumps Matt continued to fight for me and we were able to get great results! My initial punishment was going to be with 3 charges resulting in 9 days jail and 36 days of house arrest. However, Matt was able to reduce the sentence down to only an extreme with a jail sentence of 7 days and 28 days of home detention! A whole 10 days!! Our son was arrested for possession of a small amount of pot at ASU. We contacted Matthew Lopez who we found out handles many such cases. It got complicated as our son was a non US resident and as a result, through an over zealous police department, his student visa was cancelled and he was forced to leave the country. This was unprecedented in Mr Lopez's experience and thought to be excessive for such a minor offence. Long story short- Mr Lopez worked with our immigration lawyer and ultimately got the charges dismissed. He and his firm could not have achieved a better result. It's hard to believe in the state of Arizona, this sort of thing is a felony in 2020-parents beware! We have a daughter who went to Brown. I originally contacted this office last year and ended up deciding to move forward with their services for a DUI. I was first assigned Tyler Steele, who now is not longer at the firm. Tyler sold me all these false ideas that i later discovered weren’t true. My case was then assigned to Rebecca and she was excellent! We ended up taking my case to trial as i was falsely accused of this DUI. Rebecca follow up with me after every hearing and was giving me updates on my case. Fast forward to trial , we did trial prep and attended a 2 day trial. Rebecca was successfully able to clear my name and the jury found me NOT GUILY. I sought this firm out specifically to work with Tyler Steele. And Tyler was great, up until he left the firm and I had no communication regarding this matter until I went in to meet with him and someone else walked into the room and said "Hi im taking over Tyler's cases" That was tough to swallow since I went with this firm specifically to work with Tyler. However, the attorney that took over was Tim Derden and while he has far less experience, he handled my case throughly and was very communicative and professional. I appreciated his position as someone who came into a new firm, in a new role (Tim was previously a prosecutor and had just switched to defense), and took over cases for someone who had significant tenure over him- that's a tall order to fill. Even so, Tim did everything he could for me without hesitation and walked me through all the details of my options and what would happen if I chose option A, B or C and the specific nuances of each path. While I'm not thrilled with the way the firm handled the communication and transition between Tyler and Tim; Tim himself was a solid attorney and I would recommend him.
