I usually like to be extremely local when it comes to the businesses I patronize, but sometimes you need to venture outside small towns a little when you want the best. They are the biggest most specialized and professional divorce attorneys in this part of the state. Take it from me, don't go with someone else just to try to save a little money on your divorce lawyer. It will wind up costing you much more time money and stress than if you just did it right and hired FM from the beginning. I met with them at the start of my divorce, but thought my divorce would be 'simple' and I could use a 'less expensive' lawyer. All that's less expensive is the quote. It turned out everything FM predicted happened, and I came back to them with my tail between my legs having spent a bunch of money on the other lawyer with a mess they had to undo.

They are smart attorneys, but also get that you’re stressed out, so tell you what’s going to happen. You don’t have to ask what time’s court, they tell you before you have to ask. Your lawyer talks about the plan before, doesn’t just meet you there and go do their thing while you sit there. Watch the video they send from the partner about how divorce court goes and how you might feel there. Even though I’ve been to court before, it helped me. It doesn’t seem like a big deal but it is and no one else does that stuff like check in on you and not charge. The staff really cares about you but they are tough with the other side and you can trust them.

Post is more about the organization than the atty we worked with for mediated divorce... Everyone was very friendly & professional, however the following is the reason for my less than stellar rating: 1) Clients should meet with atty who will actually be taking the case... My original interview was with a partner, not with the atty who took the case, nor was it mentioned at any time that it would be like that 2) We had about the amount of meetings quoted for approximately $5K, yet our balance went several thousand dollars over what was quoted 3) After receiving & paying final bill, we received yet ANOTHER revised final bill for several hundred dollars more. Good customer service would have been to eat that considering the circumstances that occurred, and that final bill had been sent out.

Freed-Marcroft is exceptional. To me, integrity is everything - and it’s clear that they hold the same standards. We spent a long time as a family considering second-parent adoption. As a two-mom household who brought two children into the world together, it always seemed 1) unnecessary and 2) that by doing so, we were agreeing with others that we weren’t a family to begin with - even if both our names were on the birth certificates. Freed-Marcroft offered pro-bono adoptions after the Roe vs Wade ruling. In those moments where freedom was taken from so many, this firm gave so many of us a true gift: assurance. We jumped at the opportunity and we’re so very lucky and blessed to have our beautiful boys officially protected by law. One of the most memorable parts of this very seamless process, was just how many times we were reminded by the staff we worked with, that this is just paper - it’s a formality, a document and signature - because a family is a family is a family.
