I was going 70 in a 55 zone in McDowell County and received a ticket for reckless driving, speeding, and texting. Jody warned me about how difficult the courts were in McDowell and even has a warning on his website saying how difficult it is to get those tickets dropped/reduced. I was traveling to NC from out of state and had a slip of judgement 15.5 hours in to a 16 hour drive. I was pulled over going well over the speed limit and received a notice for speeding as well as accompanying charges. Jody was able to get my case resolved over a month before the date and got my violation down to a standard speeding ticket. I don't know what I would've done without him. Absolutely the best lawyer you can get for traffic offenses. Had a 30 over speeding ticket reduced to 9 over and I didn't even have to show up for court, for one fee, he handles everything for you. Just as the other reviewers mentioned. Mr. Lanier is truly the real deal. My wife and I took a small vacation retreat from our hectic lives to Flat Rock NC to regroup. My first time ever visiting the state of NC. I am out of state and unfortunately I was cited for speeding on I-26 over 20 MPH. After getting the citation within 1 hour of researching for traffic attorneys within the area Mr. Lanier caught my attention based on the amazing reviews from his other clients. I gave him a call 3 hours after my citation and he called me back that night on a FRIDAY. Very to the point on the situation very kind spoken gentleman. He knew my court date before looking back my citation to confirm. The moment I mentioned I-26 he knew right away what happened. Steep and extreme grades on the road and how there is a special spot where state troopers hide. He knew it all with no need for me to explain. If you are out of state I extremely recommend contacting Mr. Lanier. I have never worked with an attorney who was honest, fair, and really understand your point of view. After my 3 day stay in Flat Rock NC, on our way going home we noticed the state trooper at it again right at the same spot sitting on I-26 hiding right after the road bends. By the time we got home 2 days later my case was resolved. Mr. Lanier was even kind enough to provide me where I could pay my settlement fine in his email. He had emailed me at 11 pm EST. now that is someone show has passion for what they do. He was able to do exactly what he said from our phone conversation. Over 20 speeding down to improper equipment no points no insurance increase all within the same week of getting the citation. No need to travel back to NC to appear in court and everything settled very quickly without having to take time off from work. I will be keeping his number If I am every visiting the area. After worrying a few weeks about how to handle a speeding ticket I decided to call Jody. Wish I had done that right away and saved all that time thinking about it. Jody explained my options clearly and dealt with my citation the same day! I learned a few things with the whole experience and was very pleased with the outcome. He knows the Buncombe county courthouse and who are the best people to deal with there. You are paying for his knowledge of the people and the system as well as the NC law. Mr. Lanier handled a traffic citation that I received while working locally in the Hendersonville area. (Not speeding) My license is detrimental to my traveling job, as such, I needed representation. I did not have to appear, which would have been expensive for me since I do not live in the area. I did all of my contacts with Mr. Lanier directly through email only. I simply sent a pic of my citation, gladly paid Mr. Lanier's fee, wrote briefly about what happened and Mr. Lanier handled the rest. Contacted Mr. Lanier via email and was able to reduce my citation to an improper equipment violation, no points on my record, and no court time all within a few weeks time. I'm disappointed with NC absolutely, what a trap to get those out state tourists to pay more money.. So be warned when other cars are pushing past you 20+MPH in those up and down, weaving roads, stick to the posted mileage, even when impeding traffic. My son recieved a speeding ticket on I40 in Ashville. This normally wouldn't be a big deal but the fact that his license was suspended in FL for an old DUI was a big problem. Jody explained what needed to be done and explained his fees. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. He processed the waiver of appearance and was able to continue the case while my son worked on getting the Florida suspension cleared. He cleared the suspension but was not able to procure a license by the time we had to go to court but Jody was able to take what we had for documentation, get the no license charge dropped and negotiated the speeding ticket to a point where there are no points. You do get what you pay for when it comes to legal representation and Attorney Jody Lanier is worth every penny you pay him.
