The historical building is what remains of the La Joven Francesa Bakery, built by Francisco Ferlita in 1896. The original wooden structure was destroyed by fire in 1922 and rebuilt using a nice two-tone brick design - very pretty and worth a photo. During its peak it produced 33,000 loaves of Cuban Bread for the locals. Now a cozy museum, it features a very nice Mediterranean style garden next to the old bakery building. There was a plant swap open to the public and/or general residents when I visited there, and apparently the Garden area can be rented for weddings, parties, and celebrations. The park-like atmosphere is very nice, and it has a couple fountains. A really nice, cool, shady place to stop for awhile and enjoy yourself.

This small museum and state park is well worth the visit. Ranger Joe took our group through the museum and explained the history, the different cultures and how these ethnic groups worked together to help each other. A great example for our current society. We were then shown the tiny houses the cigar workers lived in. Our tour guide for this was a retired history teacher. There is so much to learn here!

Brought a friend from out of town Museum usually open until 5 but closed at 4 for some reason didn't get to really read or see everything. Wished I'd known ahead of going in at 330.

A great little stop as you explore historic Ybor City. Well worth the visit to learn about this important part of Tampa history. Part guided, part self-guided, and plenty of chickens and roosters in the adjacent square make for a great photo opportunity. Also, say hello to the local cat History—he likes a scratch behind the ears. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

A wonderful chance to learn about Tampa. There's a lot to learn in the museum unfortunately they are not currently doing Casita tours but hopefully they will resume shortly.
