Short: Really cool in terms of visual design and exhibits. But, accessibility clearly isn’t a major consideration.
Details: This museum is honestly really cool. Ive looked it up multiple times before and I recall every time there being at least one exhibit I was excited about. The place is obviously beautiful.
But. As a first time visitor with mobility limitations I was honestly frustrated and disappointed. The map honestly made it more confusing than just looking around to find my way. It was disappointing to be clearly entering the back of the exhibit when using the elevator. The extreme slowness of the elevator was aggravating. There were some tight spaces I could barely navigate as a fat person and would not be able to navigate in a chair. There were some installations that would’ve been impossible to see properly in a chair. And there are some audio and visual aspects that would’ve been disappointing at best to experience if you couldn’t sit on the small designated seating. There was also fairly limited seating to get out of the way and rest.
So although I loved it and want to go back… I really think they should put some more effort into accessibility.

I didn't expect to like this place as much as I did. The sound lab is really run to try all the instruments. The Horror Exhibit was AMAZING. The music exhibits were done on a really great way showing the history and making it fun. The afrocustom exhibit was cool to see and learn about. Definitely a must see.

Absolutely amazing!!! I loved the diversity and urban focus! I couldn't get my husband and kids out of the music recording studio 🥁🎸🎼
The hip-hop hall was so fun..
All of the exhibits were so fun. My kids and I had such a blast

Could have easily spent all day here! There was an exhibit for everyone. Fact full of information and stories. The sky church was easily mind blowing and you could get lost in the visuals. Take your time and enjoy it. Don’t rush or run through!

Really fun place, better than I expect. Has a little bit of everything for everyone. There are rooms dedicated to music, rooms for science-fiction, rooms for horror genre(not for little kids!), rooms for fantasy/fiction, big room of Disney costumes. Very spacious, fun place just to hang out.

Such an amazing museum. I would recommend comfortable shoes as you'll be walking a lot and so much to see. You will not be let down by all the things in there. They've got so many original costumes and movie props. It's really one of a kind.

Most fun museum experience I’ve had in a hot minute.
The exhibits were varied, interesting, and stimulating throughout. This is the sort of place I can see getting a membership for, because it feels like it’s all simply too much to take in in one visit.
The individual exhibit collections split by genre is such a cool touch, and every single one we got to experience was a blast. Cannot recommend this place enough for lovers of, well, pop culture!

As far as I'm concerned this place is a must visit for anyone in the Seattle area. It includes a variety of exhibits that contain some of the most iconic props in film and music history. Everyone can find something to like here, from the indie video game exhibit, to the fantasy film section. It's a clean museum that can easily take over 2 hours to explore.

I got the CITY pass and spent around 3 hours here on a Sunday. It got busier as the day went on. There are several exhibits which makes it valuable and I could’ve easily spent half the day in the sound lab. This museum is super fun for kids of all ages. The Contact hip hop exhibit is well curated and features an excellent short film. I also enjoyed the horror exhibit the most. This is def an attraction not to be missed!

This was SURPRISINGLY Awesome! Some travelers recommended it, and I went reluctantly (As I am over 40 and did not think it would be appealing to my age group) but I was absolutely shocked at how cool it was. Lots of exhibits & attractions for ages teen - 60's. A well rounded museum in an incredible building that we spent HOURS in.
