I had a blast volunteering at the ArcGNO Mardi Gras Recycle Center! We started off with a tour to see ALL of the throws that were waiting to be sorted. There were a bunch of large boxes, some weighing 600 - 800 pounds. With that said, please consider volunteering. I volunteered with a group and we had a great time as we sorted the numerous beads. ArcGNO has a store that you can visit to purchase beads and other throws. The selection was amazing! I saw so many 2019 throws, so if you didn't catch something in one of the parades, there's a good chance you may find it here. Also, if you're a member of a Krewe, you will find a good selection of beads/throws for your next parade. While there, we were also able to hear about the mission and why ArcGNO exists. ArcGNO creates jobs for those who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. They also provide numerous other services to the community. One that stood out in particular is that they provide relief to caretakers who may need to take some time to themselves. Hearing this really made me feel like my volunteer efforts mattered. I can't wait to volunteer again!

I experienced my first Mardi Gras in 2022. I had no idea I would amass so much stuff. I had to separate everything into boxes and then find something to do with the abundance of "beads and throws". I found this place and to my delight all I needed to do was drop off my Mardi Gras extras at the drop off boxes at the entrance to the parking lot. It took less than 5 minutes to accomplish something I have been putting off for months! Better yet it goes to a good cause!

This place was one of my favorite things that I did while in New Orleans. One reason is that the idea behind the business is something that is unique for that area. It is also not very physically intensive which allows for a wider variety of service oportunities. Everyone here had a lot of energy and looks forward to working every day.

Have an event? Need Mardi Gras Beads?! This is your place! Arc of Greater New Orleans offers a great service in New Orleans, they sort recycled beads and sell them for a reasonable price. This will be great for family and guests coming into the city, think family reunions, friends trips etc., everyone loves beads!

We have made a special trip from north Louisiana to buy our Mardi Gras beads for 2 years now. You can purchase all kinds of throws (beads, specialty beads, plush, balls) at a discount and the money goes to a great cause!

We buy old Kreme beads here for our local throws and prizes. Inexpensive place to get recycled beads and throws, and it helps the community too.
