Get more than you give. If you're looking for a way to remove stress from your life and find happiness, it's not found in an app or a therapist, it's found here. Three hours of service gives you a feeling of community and contributions. I know you go here think you're giving and helping others, but you're really helping yourself. The place is so clean, the staff is well trained and time flies. I worked 3 hours with a large group of 40 plus people and we barely packed 1600 meals for children to take home on a weekend so they had something to eat. If you need motivation, there you have it. I'm not trying to figure out why we have starving people in our great country, I'm just trying to help someone not go hungry. I'm working into my schedule time to help and give back through this service.

We recently started volunteering at a food bank and offered to come down and go shopping. Everyone was great from the moment we walked in. Kerry was extremely helpful walking us through the process since it was our first time shopping. Thank you to all who work and volunteer here, you impact so many people.

Truck drivers. Not a bad place for delivery. Appointment 08:00 They open 8am. Wait in the gate till they open. Check in 07:50 Check out 09:20 Full truck load. Make sure you have an appointment.

This is a decent location to hold meetings in the facility conference rooms. The supplied food is somewhat scant, but tasty.

A local title 1 school (all the way in NC) was given boxes of emergency food from this food bank--1 box per student right at Thanksgiving during the pandemic, each box provided nearly a week of nonperishable food. This organization is a legit blessing for those in need. Please consider donating either your money or your time, to this nonprofit.

I spent a morning with my group of 45 students packing meals at Second Harvest. The company associate was very helpful and knew exactly how to make all 45 of us impactful. They accomodated people who could only do certain tasks. The associate was also very knowledgable about where all the food was coming from and where it was going. This is a great place to spend half a day doing service with a large group of people

WOW!!! This non profit is run so efficiently that it can almost completely sustain itself on it's own. I did the culinary class with Mark Rubin and we had an awesome experience. He took us on a tour of the facility afterwards and it was inspiring.

I just learned this is a food pantry which limits individuals to 3 visits in 6 months. I am not sure how effective that is to feeding the hungry. Nashville really needs a service that can offer the hungry more than 3 boxes every 6 months.
