Love love love this place!! Their knowledgeable staff has made many recommendations and given us tips on which equipment is best to use for the task at hand; and even shown us how to it! Their wide selection has allowed us to finish all of our projects. They offer workshops too.

I really appreciate the tool library. I’m new to woodworking and I’ve gone there a few times during their business hours and they’ve always been helpful. The owner the staff and their volunteers are really knowledge. I highly recommend getting a membership to support this amazing resource.

This place is such a cool idea and executed so well. I was worried at first that they wouldn't have things available when I needed them but they always do!! The staff is amazing and so much more helpful that a typical hardware store or home Depot because they've used all the tools and they know what they're doing.
Having a membership to this tool library has saved me hundreds of dollars on tools that I don't need to clutter my garage with for one project and never use again. Thank you guys so much for running this tool library!

Amazing organization to provide any easy way for resident's to borrow a tool they need without having to buy it. Memberships come in different levels to help maintain this awesome organization. Don't buy that post-hole digger or shovel, lend it from the NE Tool Library!
Reed Saunders
These people are among the nicest and most helpful you will encounter in your tool related experiences. The membership is a great value, there is a good range of tools, and they are easy to reserve online. If you plan ahead, you can get about anything you need for standard home renovation projects and hobby work. And it’s so cheap that it doesn’t take long to justify the purchase of a membership. I know I’ve already saved myself hundreds by not having to buy or rent tools I only need once or twice.

What a resource and fantastic idea. It makes such good sense for city folks living in such close proximity to each other to share. Not everyone needs these tools. I so enjoy being a party of something that is about community and being good to the earth. The Tool Library membership is very reasonably priced. The staff I have met were quite kind and helpful.

Amazing place with a lot to offer. A full wood workers shop. A membership gets you access to all the tools they have; much like a library. They've expanded and added a ton more!

Found this place during art-a-whirl, seems like a fantastic concept to learn how to be handy in the classes and have access to SO many tools rather than having to have the storage space at home.

What a WONDERFUL CONCEPT! I live a one bedroom apartment, so not only do I not really want to pay for power tools, but I do not have the space to store them either. The people here are so friendly and helpful! I walked in my first time and a volunteer walked me around the shop and helped me find my tools. I have been recommending a membership to anyone who will listen. It's already paid off and I've only checked out tools once. Will be a member as long as I'm in the cities.

Building a large assortment of tools is costly and takes time. An amazing concept such as the tool library gives folk access to items they'd have to pay out the nose for to rent. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I can't recommend this place more - especially if you're a new home owner.

I already have many basic tools so for me, the biggest benefit of this place is not having to store tools I use infrequently. I'm even getting rid of some that I bought before I joined. Generally busy so be prepared to wait a bit at check out, but the people are nice and the tools are relatively easy to find. Website is very useful. Overall, this place is an example of a great idea executed well.

I joined the NE tool library earlier this summer and couldn't be happier. I've been able to complete three home projects with minimal costs because I was able to rent the tools. I recently started using the table saw and planer in the shop with help from Thomas who gave excellent beginner tips :)
Paul Clark
Needed a drain snake and Thomas hooked me up. He even made a special call to get an overdue tool returned when I needed more power. Super nice dude providing an invaluable resource for new homeowners and DIY'ers – not only for the tool access, but the education and community connection opportunities as well. Go support this project!!

The NE Minneapolis Tool Library is an excellent addition to the local community. Need a drill press, power washer, or electric hedge trimmer? They have got you covered!
My favorite part of being a member of the Tool Library is their working space. I'm always welcomed by their volunteers who offer up advice when asked on how I can construct my latest project.
Finding the tool library is a bit awkward the first time. Turn into the alley next to Tires for Less and you'll find parking. Walk through the door, take a right, and it will be down the hall on your left!
Devin Batkiewicz
Amazing idea. Really hard to pull off. But they are doing it! What ever tool you need to yard work or house renovation they have it. Along with their wood shop onsite, this place is worth it for anyone who can't afford a tool for a one-time job.
Mike B
So far it's great! They have a nice shop if you need and a large selection of tools. I only wish it was open later and on more days. It is volunteer run so you can't expect 24 hour service.
Eliecer Camejo
This is an amazing place and actually the best service that I use in the city.
The staff is great, they have been really responsable with the response to the COVID 19 and keeping running the okeace in a very safety way.
I highly recommend to visit the place and if you are the kind of person that is often doing projects, you should get a membership.
David Meier
Great place for basic tools wish they had some larger more specialized items but very useful for what they do have.
Travis Reese
Every time I go there I meet the friendliest people, and I get exactly what I need for every project. I’ve used them numerous times and cannot recommend them highly enough.
Andrew Tralle
Good selection of tools with a reasonable yearly membership. Staff are great and super helpful with my projects.

Incredible value and community resource. The next time you need to buy a tool for a project, buy a membership instead and you'll get your money back in one visit
Joy Ade
The people there are so willingly helpful with every aspect of the rental. From registering to helping me understand the tools needed for my project.
Garrett Bing
This place rules! Seriously, as a new homeowner this place has saved me on multiple occasions. I can't afford new tools for every job, and the staff here are knowledgeable and helpful. I can't recommend it enough.
Samuel Spenader-Roark
Great little space, large library of tools, and helpful volunteers. The only shortcoming is occasional gaps in their inventory, but nobody has every tool.
Howard Freeman
What a cool idea! This is so much better than buying stuff you hardly use. I hope they can grow enough through community participation to expand their operation and hours.
Jae Lee
The MN Tool Library NE is amazing, trans, and queer friendly!

This is an awesome resource to have in my neighborhood! I've been a member for over two years now and their selection has only continued to expand and improve.
