Go here for a beautiful day in nature just off the beaten path!! It’s so interesting and lots of fun things to explore. We enjoyed an evening of music and food. Kids were running around everywhere feeding animals and having a blast. Love this place for its authenticity and historical significance.

I love blackacre! I’ve came here many times over the past few years. Lots of cute animals. The trails are also longer than you would expect. Lots to do here with friends family & kids. No dogs allowed sadly.

I've been here a few times and have loved it each time. This is a perfect thing to do for you & your kiddos! Be sure to bring carrots & apples to feed the animals; there are horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, cows, & more! I've met one of the owners and he was so kind and welcoming. Highly recommend visiting!

Beautiful wedding venue. Two delightful on-site coordinators made our catering experience seamless. The Venue is beautiful. The Historic home and multiple buildings offer perfect photo ops. Horses grazing in the fields add that Kentucky flaire. Very enchanting.

I went to Blackacre on Saturday. They have some neat hiking trails, and animals out that you can pet. There was a children's birthday party where they let them feed the animals and the looked like they were having the time of their lives.
However, they had their horses tied up to the fence so people could pet them, but didn't provide them with any water. It was really hot that day and it seemed a little cruel to me to not let them have anything to drink. Also they were covered in flies. There are wipes for horses that have fly repellent that could have been used to prevent at least some of this. At the very least they could have rotated some of them out so they could run around and not be tied up all day.

First time visiting Blackacre today, for the Edible plant hike. A chilly day but very interesting and informative! Guide Lee Grace was awesome and very knowledgeable! He made it an enjoyable time despite the weather conditions. Would definitely love to come back for more hikes like this if offered in the future!!

Very cool nature preserve and farmstead. We stopped to stretch our legs while passing through Louisville. Our only suggestion is trail markers.

an amazing place! they have free entry (but accept donations) and they have beautiful hiking trails and lots of animals. great family friendly environment. some of the animals (like Mr. Peanut for example) like the attention to be on them, but they are all great!

I have not been to this place but I want to go I just now found out from a customer at work about this place. I love animals and I would love to go and see them and even feed them.

Blackacre is a hidden jewel! Over ten years ago, I started bringing children to the homestead during the summer where they enjoyed playing in the over 200 year old barn and exploring their grounds. We would pack a lunch, have lunch along Jackson Hole pond, sketch nature and play for hours. Sometimes we would bring carrots for the horses and goats to eat. It's always great to see the two old donkeys, Taco and Salsa.

Blackacre is a hidden gem in Louisville. The staff are absolutely out-of-this-world amazing—the best hosts/guides one could ever ask for—Dale, Ally, Farmer Larry, the whole crew could not have been more accommodating and generous during my two-week stay here. If you're looking for gorgeous views and a refreshing getaway, this is really your spot. I'm jealous of everyone who lives close enough to regularly enjoy such a scenic and peaceful preserve.

Great to visit. 18th and early 19th century structures. Farm. Trails to hike. This state nature preserve is special. The Tyler family lived here.
