A destination by itself, worth any detour if traveling through Vermont. Beautiful sights and great locally produced products to buy. The bread and cheese are definitely worth trying. You can definitely plan 3-4 hours there if you want to.
Great to visit with kids, lots of stroller friendly trails (as long as your stroller is somewhat all terrain).

The grounds are beautiful. I walked to the mansion and formal gardens. Surprising how many blooms even though it was the end of September. The Farm Barn was fun to see some animals up close and watch cheese being made. I stopped in the bakery and purchased a seeded baguette and an oatmeal cookie. Yummy!

Arrived later in the day to walk the trails and do a short driving tour of the grounds. The wholesale bakery is apparently open until 5:00 p.m. most days, and sometimes has smaller items available for private purchase, but we didn't arrive in time during our visit. The store at the front entrance has a good selection of cheese, syrups, merchandise, chocolates, cards, and some fresh vegetables. Extremely nice and helpful staff.

Great little farm with a wonderful history. Cheese and bread making on site. Dark animals to see and pet. It's got an inn and restaurant that are worth making reservations for. You can run and bike around the roads on the property. There's nature trails and beautiful views of the lake

Beautiful property. Probably best appreciated visiting as part of a group tour. Signage could be better, including availability of paper trail maps. Make a rest stop prior to visiting. Only option there is porta potties.

It is beautiful and the trails are nice. No real snack foods and they don't do guided tours and you're not allowed in the inn unless you are staying overnight . Children had a nice long walk and saw some pigs goats, cows and there are a few interactive rooms.
Overall it was free (by donation) so giving four stars instead of 3.

I love Shelburne Farms it is such an enchanting place.
The history behind this property makes it very special and the new chapter they are writing with the non profit organization is going to ensure this property remains available to enjoy for decades to come 🙂
If you want to appreciate an authentic piece of American history and the elegance of an 18th century property look no further !

Lovely place to go for a walk. Staff is always friendly. This place is a gem in Shelburne. Be sure to walk to the Inn, the views are worth it and the gardens are so beautiful and well-maintained

After monitoring foliage report, we decided to go for our leaf peeping road trip this weekend. Shelburne Farms was so much worth visiting and it was full of colors this weekend. Cathy, the staff who met us at the kiosk by the parking lot was very friendly. She gave us directions and a bit of intro on what to expect at the farm. The amazing view overlooking Lake Champlain was as she described it to be...beautiful!

As for me it's a bit overpriced. You can get the same products from this farm in other stores twice cheaper.
However, it is a nice place to hike, gorgeous nature!
