Common Roots is a non-profit organization that has a mission which includes providing food source education to school children while also supplying fresh organic grown produce to families with food insecurities. Their mission is a noble one and they can certainly use large or small donations to help the farming operation that is expensive to run. The land preparation, the infrastructure the planting, caring and harvesting all takes money. It "takes a village" to feed the ones less fortunate.

i picked up a meal one Tuesday, $14 for an entree and salad. the flavors and menu were more complex than any thing i prepare at home. it was a nice meal and i enjoyed the local nature of the ingredients. any time you observe women picking up foods in droves, it is worth a try.
