After waiting a year for a previously purchased appliance with no ETA we called DeWhitt and had a great experience from the first call with Nick. Nick didn’t have exactly what we were looking for but called a day or two later with the exact appliance. He took great care of us, explained every step of the process and overall was really wonderful. Jake and the delivery team were great too, very communicative and even early! Thank you to Nick and the DeWhitt team, we will be back in the future!

Great experience, they helped us find appliances on short notice. We ordered a fridge, but when it was delayed (manufacturers fault, not DeWhitt's) the salesperson was happy to cancel the order, and found me 4-5 options they had in stock and could be delivered the next day. We worked with CJ, who helped us with a new refrigerator purchase. He was very nice, professional, and super attentive to our needs. He asked all the right questions, was not pushy with sales in any way, and was working hard to make sure we got the right appliance. He had a good attitude and great disposition. When the refrigerator was delivered, installed, and the old one taken away, the gentlemen who took care of us did a wonderful job and were very pleasant to have around. Good guys who understand the needs of folks who need a new appliance installed quickly. Oh yeah, and the fee for all of that was only $69! Some other places wanted at least double that. We will definitely consider DeWhitt's the next time we need an appliance. Thanks for making our refrigerator purchase and installation experience a good one!

Great customer service! We’ve replaced all of our kitchen appliances here as well as a refrigerator for our rental. When I went to get a new refrigerator both Kelly and Scott gave me guidance about looking into a repair on my five year old refrigerator instead of selling me a new one. It ended up needing a $40 piece and ten minutes of work after being unplugged for a day. I appreciate sales folks looking out for their customers bottom line. When I do need something new or from their outlet that’s where I’ll be going.

So happy I choose DeWhitt Appliances! I knew what I wanted. When I called Brian Gross, helped me. He found what I asked for. I was able to buy it at lower price than any other place I looked. I was never pressured. When I was ready to buy, I was able to buy it over the phone. I was so happy with my over the stove microwave, that a month later when I had to replace my range I reached out to Brian once again! Also on delivery day the team was awesome - they communicated the whole day on their timeline and when I could expect them. I needed a new GE dishwasher for my tenant so I went to Home Depot, Lowes, and Best Buy. Nobody stocks and everything is on back order. My son told me to go to Dewitt, they had the very model on the floor for $549.00, when I went to pay the man said, that will be $399.00. Love this place, everything on the floor is ready for takeout! Friendly people, and they have it all!

EDIT to add: Interesting that their response to this review gave me options that were not given to me while I was on the phone with them. The purchasing process and installation went pretty smoothly. Unfortunately we got a brand new refrigerator that started having issues only 6 months after we got it and the process for warranty repair is really not smooth at all. They attempted to help us initially connect to a warranty repair company, but when that didn't work they were quick to put the responsibility right back on us to deal with the faulty unit. I'm on hold now with Whirlpool (45 minutes and counting) giving me plenty of time to write some reviews. So as long as you get a good unit, you'll probably be fine, but buyer beware because they will not support you if you get a lemon. Who needs a working refrigerator anyway, right?

We got a freezer here last summer when freezers were very hard to find. We called a few months before we needed the freezer and they were able to reliably tell us when they would be in. They provided us with options available, pricing, and answered all of our questions. All of the products they carry seem to be of good quality, so whichever you choose, your appliance will last. The delivery fee was reasonable and the delivery folks were prompt and professional. We'll be getting a washer here in a few months.

We found the store to have a good selection of appliances at reasonable pricing compared to other local stores. The delivery of our appliances was quick. However, be absolutely sure that you check out the appliances carefully when they are delivered. Our kitchen was in the process of a full remodel. So, we had them leave all the appliances in the boxes. A couple of months later when ready to install them, we discovered the gas stove to be damaged when it was unboxed. A call to the store resulted in being told that it had been too long and we would have to deal with the manufacturer for repair/replacement. Now we are without a stove for at least another month while we go back and forth with the mfr.

I recently moved to the area and I needed a washer, dryer and two refrigerators. I've purchased major appliances from big box stores in the past and each time I was disappointed with the installation and post-sale support. So, this time I went to the experts ... Portland's appliance experts at DeWhitt. What a difference. Our salesman, Nick, was extremely knowledgeable and described the various features and functions. I ordered a refrigerator using Best Buy's website. They showed up, unboxed it, and it was dented. I did not take delivery since they could not tell me if it was fixable by replacement of door. I spoke with 4 different customer service reps, none of whom made any effort to expedite delivery of a replacement nor would they acknowledge my time that was wasted having to leave work, prepare my house, and empty contents, all of which had to be undone. Since "voting with our dollars" is how a free market works, I cancelled the Best Buy order and called DeWhitt per the recommendation of a friend. Nick found the same refrigerator for the exact same price and got it delivered to me two days later (a week before Best Buy thought they could). The two delivery guys were great. They navigated the narrow halls carefully, installed everything correctly, and took away my old fridge. Overall, it was the best appliance buying experience I've had in a long, long time.

Awesome customer service. We are redoing a whole kitchen and bar kitchen remodel. I went here first- shopped around and then came back. CJ was so helpful and friendly. And even the one time he wasn't working and I stopped in- the other employees were great and took the time to answer questions. Other stores can make you feel hurried or just plain dumb about appliances. Not DeWhitt- they are informative, have great prices and are just plain good people. I would use them again and will.

We were told that all appliances needed to be disconnected and removed so that the installer would haul them off. We were informed by the installer that he does this as a part of the cost of his install.

I was in the process of moving to a new home. I placed an order online with Best Buy 2 weeks before the delivery date I needed. The day before I never heard from them for a delivery window. When I contacted them, they had never fulfilled my order and never contacted me to let me know. No one could tell what had happened or why and instead of having a washer and dryer the day I needed, they said they would have to start over and the it would be over a week before they could get anything to me. I looked up, Dewhitt, decided to go local after this disaster. Nick answered my call, said he could get me a washer & dryer within 48 hours. He also helped guide me in which brand to get and was able to get some rebates. I'm very happy with my purchase. The delivery occurred as scheduled and the washer and dryer work great. It definitely was worth going local. Thank you for being there when I was in a bind and needed immediate help.

I recently purchased my first home in February 2020. I purchased a brand new Washer&dryer, range and microwave hood combo from Dewitt’s dents & dings department. I was deeply impressed with the customer service I received from my sales associate Soran!!! He knew his warehouse and his products, he listed and treated me like family!! He also put up with all my changes in my efforts to stay in budget and get what I knew I needed. His team also installed my washer/dryer and range for me. And provided me with an outside lead to install my microwave hood combo! The team at Dewitt has a full service one stop shop for your home needs. I was quite frustrated when a big box store said my range would be delayed one day and that the next delivery day would then be a month out. That would have meant that I would have had to wait another month to get the work done to get the new countertops templated and then later installed. Have you tried to work in and clean a kitchen with plywood countertops? Well it's not fun, especially during this COVID ordeal. It has already been a month of this and I was looking at another month and a half - no thank you! I spent several HOURS trying to find the same range elsewhere to where I could get it delivered on the same date as the original one and there was nothing to be found. I wanted the color slate which is not usually stocked in the warehouse. I was just about to give up when I saw an ad for DeWhitt Appliances. Not only did they have a slate range but they had the upgraded model for the same price as I would have paid for the other one at the big box store. PLUS, they delivered it a day earlier so I didn't have to reschedule my countertop templating. As well, they had the matching hood so that worked out. I was able to call and talk to a human the first time (ask for Nick) and he searched their warehouse and found what I needed. Nick explained that they had a lot of inventory in their own warehouse so they are more likely to have things in stock. Payment was done over the phone - I didn't even need to leave the house. Install guys were a few minutes early and they did a great job. Everything went as promised. I highly recommend DeWhitt Appliances and I will get any future appliances from them.

I searched the website, then called to see if the dishwasher (on liquidation) was still there. It was, and the sales person was able to answer all of my questions. I put some money down to hold it, and went to pick it up the next day with my husband and truck. They had hand sanitizer and everything was clean. The unit looked great and the "blemish" hardly noticable... especially for something that saved us over $400. When I signed, I was offered more hand sanitizer, and they helped my husband load it into our truck. It works great! We were happy to find what we needed, actually better, fast and at a great price and great service!

The entire buying process with Nick Clark was amazing - he showed us all of our options, talked us through the specs of each appliance and got us into appliances that best suited our needs NOT the most expensive option. We used a third party delivery service and had some damages upon arrival. I called Nick and he immediately took care of everything for us and got us all set up with a new set and ensured delivery the next day with different movers. Highly recommend Nick!

Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase of my new refrigerator at DeWhitt. It was the exact size & features I wanted & the price was great! In the end they made sure I received what I payed for. There was some misunderstanding in the process with ordering & shipping. The original was damaged in shipping from factory, they had to order a new one or replacement part which took a week & a half longer but failed to communicate any of this to me. I'm ready to move into a new home with no refridgerator?! frustrating! Once I opened the lines of communication, we made the nessessary adjustments & all worked out. The delivery guys were on time, personable & professional, very careful & clean in my home while they set it up. So overall I ended up happy BUT keep the lines of communication open with your clients & everything works much better!

We were in the market for a new refrigerator and went shopping where we for years have purchased appliances. The salesman who helped us (rather, didn't give us much assistance) kept walking away from us as if he was watching for someone else to help. He gave us a price but wasn't interested in describing the features, etc. We left and went to DeWhitt Appliance. We had never shopped there but had seen ads on TV so thought we would check it out. CJ warmly greeted us when we came in and said he'd be right with us. He showed us all of the features, checked measurements to be sure it would fit in our space, etc. Our experience with CJ was the epitome of excellent customer service. He was friendly, courteous, professional and extremely helpful. And, the price he quoted was significantly below what we had been quoted earlier. While we had planned to buy a new refrigerator, we also bought a range and dishwasher of the same brand series. DeWhitt's will definitely be our go to appliance store in the future.

My experience with De Whitt was a good one overall. Upon entering the store showroom, and after doing hours of meticulous product research and shopping weeks previous, i was already very clear on what type of washer and dryer I wanted. Since my prerequisites were quite specific, there was only one model that fit the bill the Frigidaire stackableand it was perfect. So, the salesperson probably earned the easiest commission in his career because all he really had to do was show me the only floor model available (which was exactly what I wanted), answer a few questions to verify that this washer and dryer set was right for my needs and budget, and then complete the sale. Nevertheless, he was the consummate professional. He arranged the delivery date, and we were done with our face-to-face interaction. The two gentleman who delivered my new washer and dryer as well as hauled away my old set were great. They were responsible, capable, professional, courteous and quite affable to boot. Even when they had to reschedule my delivery after discovering a plumbing issue in my basement, they made the somewhat stressful experience much more tolerable, and were very efficient in completing the job.

We spent maybe 15 minutes in this outlet and walked out with the gas range of our dreams, at a price our budget could bear. The facility is clean and well-lit (unlike some other appliance outlets that I won't name), and the salesperson, CJ, was a pleasure to work with. Very helpful, not pushy, and straightforward. They were also flexible with delivery times. We'll be back when next we need a large appliance.

I Love my front loader washer along with front load dryer.... :) Love it, since day one. Love the features. It gives you many choices on how you want your wash. It looks so cute too! On the pedestals it works well and saves on energy, what more do I want?! I had read a lot of reviews that said front loaders didn't get the clothes clean, or there was a residue of detergent, but all you have to do is drastically reduce the amount of detergent you use. The clothes come out clean and way drier than other washers. There attractive, have nice features, yet it's simple enough to program different settings in. Water usage is WAY down, as is detergent use. And it's HUGE! I can't believe how much you can stuff in there, and all the clothes come out clean. I can stuff a king size comforter in side the washer and they fit!

When the heat wave first started I called about 20 places for a portable AC unit and DeWhitt was the only place that still had them! They are a little far from where I live but the drive was totally worth it. They gave me a fair price, and spent time with me explaining how it worked and even told me about how the same unit worked in their home. Very great business. Has a small family-run feel! Highly recommend.

review is only related to the customer service I've received over the phone. I'm coming off a repair/appliance purchase experience (from another company that has left a bad taste in my mouth and a fair bit of decision anxiety. I've called to speak to their salespeople *way* more than I should have, and they've been helpful and courteous every time. I'm not sure if I'm going to actually wind up buying what I signed up for from them, but that has nothing to do with their quality or service and everything to do with current product availability. I would not hesitate to shop with them in the future.

We did know much about dishwashers when we entered DeWhitt. Our sales representative showed us a variety of dishwashers, and after having worked with us for a while came to understand our needs and values. He eventually directed us, without pressure, to a Kitchen Aid dishwasher that was on sale. After two years of use, we are thrilled with our purchase and could not be happier with the dishwasher or the service we received from DeWhitt. They are a top-notch operation that we will come to next time we need an applicance.

My partner and I had a great experience at DeWhitt Appliances. We remodeled our kitchen so there were lots of choices to be made about appliances. We did all our homework ahead of time but still the amount of choices was overwhelming yet Kelley walked us through options and features without pressuring us to purchase. Recently had a flood at my home and needed new appliances. I went to DeWhitt's expecting to hear the same things I had heard at the other 5 places I had been. When I walked through the door, was greeted by Glenn, and I told him my needs and he said "we don't bother you here, you are welcome to browse, and I will catch up with you." I was amazed. Each of the other stores felt like a car lot with people constantly following me. I made my selections, and Glenn made sure that I was aware of the dimensions for each appliance. Dont buy a AC unit though on a 90 degree day. I paid over MSRP and didn't know it until I got home. Other then that it has always been good. Super helpful, zero pressure staff with suggestions and explanations to buy just what we needed, for much less money than we expected. In fact, main showroom staff suggested I check out the Clearance Store, just around the corner, and I immediately got a fantastic front-loading Maytag, made in USA, washer for almost half off, very well-ratted, plus a pedestal. The guys said NO to LG or Samsung as no one, EVER, repairs them in Oregon. Too complicated. Our Samsung washer broke after only 4 years. The two guys removed old washer fir free, delivered promptly, efficiently, and even explained best use- ie: avoid high spin, don’t use too much soap as the dirt sensor thinks soap film is dirt and extends the wash cycle despite what one programs. Duh! That’s why we worked our 4 year Samsung washer to early death, as well as it was installed crookedly on basement floor, so moved a lot. Great experience!

Okay folks. It’s not about a perfectly orchestrated exchange; life throws stuff at us and DeWhitt’s takes it all in stride. Each time we have made contact with DeWhitt’s has been positive. We ordered and picked up a gas range in 2016. The unit was sealed from the manufacturer and when installed the gas grates that were included were for a different unit this rendering it useless. DeWhitt’s corrected the issue right away. Just this past month, our microwave broke. We purchased and returned two units (no fault of DeWhitt’s) and they received and FULLY refunded our account each time. We are life long customers due to how considerate, kind and understanding this family owned and local business treats folks.

I came in after look at many different brands and styles of gas ranges and dishwashers at the major home improvement stores. I had prices in mind and features I wanted. Thanks to the knowledgeable and helpful staff, Nick, he was able to find the exact gas stove I wanted but with better features at better prices than anywhere I had been looking. I was able to find a matching microwave and super quiet dishwasher. I'm glad I remembered DeWhitt Appliances after trying all of the obvious big chain stores near my house- all to no avail. He took a deposit over the phone and a couple hours later we have a working freezer! We purchased an electrolux Convection/Induction range 6 months ago from Dewitt's and I can't begin to tell you how much we enjoy cooking with the induction and convection heating. We like to cook with cast iron and were told that it might scratch the surface of the stove top, since the stove top does not get hot we decided to place paper towels between the burners and the cast iron pan, the paper towels don't get hot enough to catch fire and the stove top is protected. There have been a couple times when milk has boiled over and covered the stove top, clean up was as easy as grabbing a towel, soaking up the spilled milk and buffing the stove surface, no burned on food. Liquids boil in 90 seconds and food baked using the convection setting come out perfect. I will never go back to conventional stove tops. Dewitt's was great to work with as well.
