Kevin was great about finding us the right units. He really understood our vision. He’s super helpful, very knowledgeable, patient, and proactive on scheduling. If you’re looking to get some appliances in the area - go to Agren!!

Great experience at Agren with Kevin Shrader showing us replacement dishwashers. Our 3yr old GE profile could not be repaired. After speaking about what we were looking for, Kevin helped us narrow a few models highlighting price, reliability and features. We selected a Bosch and added the Agren 4yr warranty after hearing that any portion not used in repairs would be credited to future purchases. With the same prices as big box stores, knowledgeable staff and in-house install/repair team, it was easy to shop Agren.

His approach and that of other sales staff I encountered during an earlier visit was low key and professional. No pressure. I like to be able to leave and do my own research before making a big purchase. After I made my decision his follow through was immediate. We have purchased many appliances from Agren over the years. They have good products and sell for good prices. Yesterday we went in to buy a new dishwasher. They had prior records from purchases from an earlier house. Found our history quickly and showed us dishwashers that fit our budget and our taste. Jonah was our salesperson, he was very friendly and very professional and answered all our questions. Will definitely recommend Agren and got to Agren in the future. We’ve bought multiple appliances at Agren in South Portland and have never been disappointed with their customer service and quality of the products they carry. Most recently I purchased a washing machine online through their website. Amanda emailed me within an hour or so to verify my purchase, give further details about delivery, and to just check in making sure I was informed, happy, and satisfied with the process. I wouldn’t go anywhere else when buying appliances for my home.

Agren is a top notch company. The staff are extremely knowledgeable. They work with customers to find the best appliances for them based on their budget. There is never any pressure to buy from them. They are happy to educate the customer and hope they will be able to make the sale, but if not, then they are happy to have helped. The showroom allows customers to see many different products at various levels. Be sure you know what your budget is because you can get drawn into some nice expensive options. It is nice to dream but stick to what you can afford. We have purchased several appliances from Agren. Very happy with the customer service and the quality of the products. The delivery and setup is always great. No issues ever! Very professional organization from top down. Will continue to use Agren. They are the gold standard for appliance purchasing in my book.

Amazing service!!! From in-store to delivery. Everyone is so knowledgeable and friendly. The delivery guys are careful and make sure you're all set before leaving. With price matching, there's no reason to shop at a big box store.

These guys are awesome. We purchased $35K worth of appliances here a couple years back and the entire process went flawless. We purchased a Subzero Pro48 fridge and Wolf cooking appliances which we were very impressed with. They had every item on the showroom floor and the salesman was professional and friendly to work with. Our appliances were ordered and delivered as promised and they sent a 5 man team to bring the 800lb fridge into our house at no extra charge. We had 1 minor failure with an appliance a year later and they had someone out within 24 hours to order parts and take care of it right away. Its nice having a feeling of confidence after the sale and knowing they are there if you need them! I have referred many friends to them and they all have given positive feedback of their experience as well

We recently purchased a home and needed to get all new appliances. Our salesman Kevin helped us find the perfect matching appliances to fit our budget. When Agrens say they'll match any price, they mean it. After we had already agreed on a price, Kevin double checked prices of everything on both Lowe's and Home Depot websites and was able to save us even more money. He is very professional, worked quickly and showed me all the inner workings of the dishwasher to operate it the first time. Andy’s friendly demeanor provided a very enjoyable, easy experience. He shared stories of how kind the owners and leadership at Agren are to employees. It is nice to buy from a company that treats their employees well. Agren has been my go to for appliances for 20 years. We could order online or shop at a large retailer, but we always choose this lovely local company - and the biggest reason is their service department.

We went to Agren's to attempt to find a new mattress. Stephen in South Portland walked us through the customer “test” mattress to find what our type of sleep is for the correct firmness. This was a quick and easy process. Once done we were provided info about mattresses that met our comfort level. We tried out a few and it was pretty easy to make an informed decision. There was no pressure to buy or towards more costly products. We are very happy with the customer service and the ease of the purchase.

Bought a new washer and dryer on June 28th. Kevin S was very helpful with picking out ones. Paid for deliver & installation, couldn't do that until 7/15 and that was ok. Had an issue with the dryer that was fixed the following Monday, ok with that but then when we went to do laundry that evening had a leak at the drain hose. Obviously the installers didn't run the washer to check for leaks. Called this morning but they can't get anyone out to correct the problem till Thursday, that makes it 6 days that we can't use them. Disappointed in the length of time to correct the issue.

I live an hour and half drive from Agrens, and they continue to service their products in my home. If you are considering the purchase of any appliance, don't go to the large box stores and get below quality products. Go to the independent company, Agrens. Multiple locations around Portland. All you have to do is choose the product, the choice of company has been made!!

Here is what I just posted on Facebook: Our washer gave out yesterday, and Frank and I decided we wanted to buy local. On recommendation from two friends of his, we went first to Downeast Appliance on Rand Road. Luckily, we had the foresight to discuss what we would do if people were unmasked in there so when we walked in and saw four people standing in a cluster and talking, all unmasked, we turned right around and walked back out. Just as I was about to pull the car door shut, I heard a man call out. I suspect it was the owner (since the recommenders said the owner is always in the store). He was masked now. He asked if we were looking for parts. I said, "No, we were here to buy a washer, but since everybody's unmasked in there we're going elsewhere." He replied, "But we all work together. We mask up when customers come in." I said, "Yeah, and so the Covid is all flying around in the air." And he said, "We don't have Covid." And I said, "How do you know?" We were at an impasse, and I closed the door, happy to have had a chance to explain to him why he lost this big sale, frustrated we would have to go elsewhere. So we drove to Agren Appliance on Foden Road in South Portland. We walked in the door, and Ahh... peace. The place was spacious and well organized, and about 8 masked salespeople were sitting at desks in two rows, most of them on phones. A man stood up to help us. His name was Drew and he took us right over to the washers and was very knowledgable and relaxed and did a great job helping us decide on a model. I let him know that he had the opportunity to make the sale because they were all masked (which he said was a mandate from the top) and because the other guys weren't. So, if you're in need of an appliance or a bed, I highly recommend Agren Appliance. Tell Drew I sent you! Edited to add that the two men who delivered the new machine and take the old one away were awesome.

While I appreciate that Agren is a local business that strives to provide great customer service I feel they come up a bit short. There seems to be built in redundancy that slows down the process unnecessarily. Such as waiting for an extended length of time to have an estimate done then waiting for another extended period of time to have a stove installed that is in back order. I know Agren can not compete with a much larger company, Amazon. Amazon could have the stove to us in less than a week. If Agren could install that stove we would have it much sooner. Bought a washer and dryer at Agren in SoPo today. Sadly, it’s backordered so I cannot comment on the machines themselves; however, I can attest to the positive buying experience, as well as the knowledge and very pleasant personality of the sales associate, Kevin Doughty. He was helpful, forthcoming with information, and patient with my questions. After a recent dreadful experience with an associate at a cell phone company, this buying trip was very refreshing! Kevin explained everything very clearly: timelines, rebates, charges, etc. Dealing with a smaller, local business (at least this one) beats the big box stores hands down. I hope I will be happy with the machines and, if necessary, the repair service. In-house service was a big selling point for me, after months of dealing with a farmed-out warranty service from one of the big chains.

While researching the purchase of a new refrigerator and dishwasher we went to Agren to see some of the models we were considering. Given that price is pretty much the same governed by the manufacturer, what they are selling is really the service. We felt it was pretty average. Once we put down the deposit we waited 4 months for the date of delivery. (Understandable due to Covid delays)At that time they wanted full prepayment which was fine but the invoice we received at POS was different than what was due as they had not send an “updated “ delivery and installation charge. We had no choice but to pay it or we were told we would be removed from the list. I would have expected a better explanation of the fees. I also was never given an update on the dishwasher until they called to ask for the final payment, despite my inquiry earlier. Pretty average service throughout.

Anyone in this town will tell you that Agren is the way to go with appliances because they will always back up what they sell if there is a problem. And after polling our friends there is often a problem with appliances. Sure you can go with the big box stores but you won’t get that level of service. Plus why would you if Agren price matches? Hands down, we are very happy and can’t wait for our renovation to be finished!

We had ample opportunity to ask questions, compare and contrast products, make tentative choices, change our minds, and finalize the sale. Throughout, Dustin was very helpful. The delivery team was very efficient and courteous. In three areas, we were not completely satisfied. First, in between visits to the South Portland showroom, we had difficulty reaching Dustin, whether by phone or email. It took a time for him to respond to our efforts to reach him. Second, Dustin told us the delivery team would uninstall our old refridgerator and dishwasher and install our newly purchased replacements. He said we'd need our own technician to hook up our gas range and we therefore arranged for a qualified tech to be at our house on the day of delivery. When the delivery team arrived, they said they would not uninstall our old or install our new dishwasher. This came as a total surprise to us. The technician we had on hand was able to do the uninstall and install but only after a good amount of costly time with the installation manual and subsequent effort to carry out these unfamiliar both tasks. The deliverers said we could have gotten an Agren installation team to deal with the dishwashers. We had not heard this was needed or possible. Finally, when the deliver team was finished with their work, the team leader read off his phone some relevant information about what to expect with our new appliances on first using them. This information would have been much more helpfully delivered in writing.

Agren's is always helpful. It is a hardship and inconvenient in this pandemic year that currently their suppliers are out of stock of freezers and other Fridgidaire items. But we would far rather rely on them and their local dependable knowledge than any big box stores (who will tell you they have an item in stock and then cancel your freezer delivery a month later.) Not Agren's!

They had only a few microwaves out on the display floor, but Kevin helped me narrow down all the options in their catalogs, being very candid about the advantages and disadvantages of various brands and features. Once I ordered the microwave I wanted, it came in quickly, but their installation staff must be very busy, because the first available appointment was three weeks out. The installation guy was very professional and efficient. I'm very pleased with the microwave and the service from Agren.

Dylan from service department was thorough and methodical trying to revive my 20+ year old Maytag stove. He even went ‘old school’ and soldered an old cracked joint in the touch panel. Sadly to no avail. The panel is available but at a cost. Instead I shifted gears and made a purchase of a new handsome GE slide in unit that Kevin volunteered a price match with a big box unprompted.
