I ran out of film while on vacation so I stopped by Brooklyn Film Camera to get some. They have an HUGE selection of fresh film. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They have a tiny art gallery and some cool rare cameras on display that I think is worth the visit for photographers even if you are not planning on buying anything!

Fantastic and knowledgeable staff and my go to store for all my Polaroid needs! Sadly my poor SX-70 was malfunctioning but they were able to get it fixed so fast! And now it's better than ever. My experience with them has always been phenomenal. I feel I'm always in good hands and highly recommend everyone to support this wonderful local business.

I was looking to get a Yashica-124G camera and bumped into Brooklyn Film Camera online. I love how they clearly show the description, product and quality of the camera. I’m in Los Angeles, so I was hesitant to have a film camera ship from New York, but when I received the product it was in great condition and packaged safely! I rarely write reviews, but it is definitely worth mentioning how great the service at BFC is. I had the pleasure of talking with Claire, and she made sure to answer all of my questions, offer the best options for my SX-70's repair, and was transparent with me every step of the way. I opted to have the 600 conversion done, as well as the reskinning of the leather, and everything exceeded my expectations. My camera also needed to have the film door replaced, but Claire had let me know well in advance that there was a great possibility of that. The camera works phenomenally and I am so happy with having worked with BFC. Huge thank you to the team, and a special thank you to Claire for being so patient with me!

This is one of the few places around who are doing a lot to keep film alive, and I was suprised at how many rare items they stock. The staff were very kind to me and answered all my questions in person and through email. I bought a set of Spectra filters and a manual for my SX-70 in mint condition. For any fan of film visiting NY like I was, I would recommend you make a stop here.

Decent little place. Found what I was looking for at a reasonable price I’d say. Definitely disappointed that they do not do repairs on 35mm point and shoots. I really thought they did.... Apparently they only repair Polaroid cameras....Anyways, hopefully, I got my money’s worth by purchasing a camera they had locally at this shop instead of online! 👍🏾 The hunt for a reliable 35 mm camera repair shop continues.

Repaired and reskinned my SX-70 from barely working to perfect condition. Ordered online and after the camera got shipped to them it was sent back to me in just about 2 weeks. Great price for the service, plus a year long warranty on the repairs holding up. My only other comment would be that it'd be great if they just sent some form of email when your camera is in their repair queue. Otherwise, perfect service for what I needed, would gladly deal with again if I ever need another repair or CLA.

It's not easy to find - but it's worth it. Call the number on the sign and someone will let you in, go to the third floor (maybe call again) and someone will bring you to their showroom. They have some beautiful accessories and a good choice of film as well. Pretty nice shop! :)

I’ve dealt with Brooklyn Film Camera in many different capacities over the past few years & every one of them has been nothing but overwhelmingly positive. I’ve sent in cameras to be repaired/refurbished and they’ve come back to me in shockingly good shape. The staff is always excellent with communication and happy to answer any questions I’ve had. They’ve also been a great source for expired instant film. The prices are always right in line with the current resell market, but there’s an extra assurance buying from BFC because they generally know where the film came from & test a pack from the case. I’ve shot a lot of expired film purchased from BFC & it’s always worked exactly as expected. The store is small but inviting and the staff is always willing to go above and beyond to share knowledge in many different forms. Could not recommend this shop highly enough!

I have bought several cameras from BFC. The quality of their restoration is amazing. They are my go-to shop to buy packfilm. They make sure their stock was cold stored and have posted videos of test shots of certain stocks they find. When I received all my packages, they are well protected.

I sent Julian at Brooklyn Film Camera my SX-70 for restoration and man, he did an absolutely fantastic job. It came back looking far better than I had hoped for and it works like new despite being older than I am. ... I guess I have to admit I wouldn't know how it worked when it was new, but never mind that. It works great! On top of this, they turned around the work faster than I expected and kept me up to date. If you're pondering a restoration then I say go with Brooklyn Film Camera. The price is extremely reasonable considering the quality of the service.

BFC repaired a damaged SX-70 Aplha 1 that I found and it runs like a dream! I have bought film from them many times as well and I have never had an issue with pricing or quality. Prices reflect the demands of the ever dwindling analog film supply, and rest assured, you will get results with their packfilm. Each expired pack comes from a bulk supply that is fully tested. Shop with confidence! They also have some limited and vintage accessories and even some experimental films can be found in their store. 12/10 would recommend!

To anyone interested in analogue photography, specialising in Polaroid cameras, this is a place you NEED to visit. The owner & technician are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and very open to answering any questions you have. I acquired an SX70 Polaroid Land Camera. I stopped by just to check see if the camera needed servicing, ask a few questions, and to buy plenty of Polaroid Originals film. The owner noticed a little loose screw on my camera & the technician fixed it right up in a jiffy! Hopefully, this camera survives another 45 years! I was also given advice on how to care for my camera which was extremely helpful. I am a VERY happy & you will be too! Support this excellent business so that they are open for years to come! Helpful tips: 1. Harrison PL is currently under construction & it is difficult to find see the sign. Look for the sign that says “Brooklyn Brush Studios;” just over the fence. 2. They do not have a buzzer. You need to ring them to be let in. :)

A few years ago I brought an SX-70 from Letgo. It was in ok condition for the price I got it and I was looking for a local spot to be able to fix it. And lo and behold I stumbled upon Brooklyn Film Camera. Although very hard to find once you enter the cramped workspace you begin to feel an aura. this aura is akin to a sort of overflow of passion. The people who work here clearly love it and their work clearly shows. When I received my camera I genuinely wanted to ask whether it was mine or not. It looked like it came fresh out of the box. These people here are friendly and love their work I have no complaints none.

GREAT service. I forgot to check there hours and showed up randomly on Monday trying to pick up my order ALL the way from Connecticut. Turns out there only open on weekends. Thankfully I called there number and they happened to be in the building and the sweet guy opened the door for me and let me come up and pick up my order. He even showed me some dope cameras and taught me a few things about 3D 35mm (who knew it exsisted!!!) I even eneded up buying more film cause I was just so happy to be around it 😂Thanks again

This is the place to go in nyc if you want to get your classic folding polaroid sx70 camera restored or repaired. It's a small shop specialized in refurbished analog instant cameras and film cameras. The owner and shop keeper is very friendly and knowledgeable in all things polaroid. However, be aware that this shop only open on Saturdays & Sundays from 1pm to 6pm.

the only thing about this place that is less than five stars is the name. brooklyn film camera? really?! try saying brooklyn basketball nets and tell me if you agree. or brooklyn house coffee? anyway, this place is a must if you appreciate film cameras. okay wait. now i get it. they sell only film cameras. now it makes sense to me. they sell old style cameras with film rolls that you have to get developed the old fashioned way. also polaroid instant cameras. those are pretty expensive but there some less expensive options. name still seems a little awkward but the place is tremendous.
