You can buy camera gear on line and MAYBE (maybe not) save a few dollars at most. You buy it on line and good luck getting any help on how to use it. Murphy's is the classic "we really take care of the customer" store. ALL of the sales people are photographers and have your best long term interest at heart. The thrill of saving those very few dollars will quickly pass while Murphy's Camera stands behind you all the way. They have a great stock of equipment and a large selection of used equipment. They also rent cameras and lens of you have a special need or want to try something first. They really get my vote and business for the last 20+ years.

The people working there are great. I went in to have some photos printed. I had the item saved on a thumb drive but I had it saved as a zip file, they were kind enough to re-save the photos so I could go ahead and get what I needed printed.

I've been shopping Murphy's for roughly 20 years and always find exactly what I'm looking for. They are incredibly easy to rent from, and you can look at their website for current product availability. Although I generally order prints from a company in another state, my go-to local printer will always be Murphy's. They are fast, and their ink colors are always great.

The first day we walked in we were greeted by an awesome guy that didn't care that my wife and I weren't the best with my current Nikon body but wanted to buy something new and some lenses to better the craft of my nature pictures. I found an older camera (Yeshica J-7) in the basement of my house. It was my uncles camera and I really wanted to see if it would still work! I got a battery for it and some film and took it to the shop. Jon and Don were so incredibly helpful in explaining some mechanics and giving me a lot of valuable information. I just dropped off the first roll of film and I’m excited to see the outcome. I will forever be a Murphys customer!

Very good camera shop. They have a great selection and since I live within walking distance it is a great place to run to if I need gear or supplies in a hurry. They also have a very extensive rental selection. I have rented back up equipment and items that I wanted to try before I purchased them. The only problem is they are more expensive than the larger camera shops out of New York. I always try to use them whenever I can and they have god prices on some items.

Fantastic customer service and fair prices. I was on a business trip and forgot one of my pieces of gear. They had the item in stock and allowed me to rent it for a very fair price. They were very friendly, professional and helpful and I would highly recommend them.

Shop local! It's better to go here as a dedicated camera store than Best Buy. I was a first time Mirrorless camera buyer and the staff is really nice and knowledgeable. A nice gentleman helped me with my XT4 purchase and Kim was amazing with helping me find a good deal on a lens for my camera.

Shopping local is important and so is price, but getting a hat trick that includes good service is hard to find. Murphy's people are honest, good listeners, and want the customer to walk out of the story feeling like they were taken care of and welcome to come back if there are any questions or issues. It's alright. I feel like some of the employees don't really know their cameras. The store is clean and the people are friendly. The prices are very high but I guess that's the price you pay for convenience rather than getting it online. They should have more cameras available for rental.

I'm relative novice in photography, so I went to Murphy's only knowing the basics of what I was looking for (a new cap, a polarizing filter and lens cleaner) I was browsing when Kim, a very friendly "associate" I guess you could call her, approached me. I told her what I needed and she not only steered me away from a lens cleaning pad, because I didn't need it. Unbeknownst to me, a product I already had for my phone works just fine. She also took the time to clearly explain how to use, and the purpose of a polarizing filter. Another employee also told me that I shouldn't buy a product (a flash) because as he said he doesn't want to sell me something I didn't need. So, not only were they extremely helpful and nice, they didn't just let me make rookie-mistake-purchases, they almost insisted that I not buy those items. The store is a little pricey compared to major retail, but not by much and they more than make up for it with their knowledge and helpfulness. I rarely rate and never give reviews. I'm more than happy to give Murphy's five stars and take the time to review them and share my experience: I recommend them to experts and novices alike. I will definitely be going back for all of camera/photography needs.

Professional service, USA authorized Canon dealer. The price is the same, anywhere in the country or online, for Canon USA equipment. Go to the local store. You won't find Canon USA equipment cheaper, so help your local dealer out.

Murphy's reprinted some negatives. I dropped them off on a Tuesday. (Bardstown Rd location) I was told that they would send prints to The Paddock location. (for me to pick up) The Paddock is close to my workplace. I thought that was very nice of the staff to do that. The prints are ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. Last, but not least, the clerks at both locations were SUPER nice, very polite.

Best place in town to buy your camera and printing equipment. The experts that work there are usually friendly. Like any tech purchase 99% of customers problems are due to costumer not knowing how to properly work their camera. Murphy’s camera is always pretty helpful with people even when they come in frustrated with their own lack of knowledge about the technology. When any of my students need to ask about new equipment or have tech questions I cant answer, I send them to Murphy’s Camera on Bardstown rd. Prices are usually a hair more expansive than online, but if you want to hold the camera in hand and try it out. Also if something doesn’t work or your just plan changes your mind, you can always bring it back in. You get tons more help and advice if you go to them. Worth the extra cost of $5-$10 dollars per camera or lens to buy from Murphy's. Plus don't forget the cost of shipping if you go online. I will send my own children there some day.
