I had seen the negative reviews but I took a chance because no other regional appliance service would touch a Samsung washer - so I called Sears. I wasn't sure what would happen but i was able to get service scheduled for within 24 hours of my call, the technician arrived in the window, called ahead and discussed my concern, arrived on time, did the work efficiently AND found a solution that was quicker, cheaper, and less invasive than he had anticipated. All in all I was really happy with the service and will use them again if needed.
We called and they were able to repair our oven within the same day. It needed a part that the repairman had in his vehicle. My only complaint would be that they did not communicate well with us after the install. I would consider the service a little on the expensive side but the fact that they were so responsive made it worth it.
This was a great service! They were able to give me a next day appointment, it was easy to get in touch, and they fixed our drier issue quickly. I would highly recommend. The service call price was cheaper that other competitors and the work/parts a similar price. We will be using them in the future!
Rep "repaired" washer and departed in afternoon. Stated if there were any problems "call me tonight". Couldn't do a load until I got home after work. Didn't find out that it still leaked until after 9pm. Called rep next day and he said I would have to pay for another service call $159. Well, I just paid $159 for nothing. Unacceptable!
Question- shouldn't the repair man have run a test cycle to verify operational prior to saying it had been fixed?
Note: I upgraded from 1 star to 3 stars. Sears saw my original post, did not charge me for another rep coming out. Second.rep was seasoned, professional and based on my excellent service my him j am upgrading to 3 stars.
The service tech, Tom, is very knowledgeable, professional and efficient. He offers good advice.
Kenmore was easy to reach. They were uable to find doors to replace my broken one, but ended up giving me more credit than I needed to replace my refrigerator'freezer,
Positive: Very professional repair tech who provided good advice.
Negative: The Sears scheduling system drove me crazy. I set a fixed appointment and made plans to be at home at that time. Starting two a few days before the appointment, the system was constantly advancing the date of the appointment. I wasted 30 minutes on three calls to reset the appointment back to the original time. Very aggravating.
Your agent, Tom, came out to address my tenant’s washing machine issue. He gave me a call to confirm when he’d be here, arrived on time and was friendly and professional throughout. He quickly diagnosed a minor front drain issue as the root cause when I was expecting to have to replace the whole appliance. Also, I only booked the appointment the afternoon before. Great guy, great experience, and - as a landlord - I highly recommend Sears Service. Thanks, Tom!
This appointment was for my annual warranty checkup for my Kenmore Washer and Dryer. I was sent an email with a name, a photo and a time line when I could expect the technician a day in advance with text follow ups giving a more exact time when he would arrive. Brent arrived promptly, was very pleasant, offered some good advice and was professional.
As expected based on past experience, the fix to our secondary ice maker required three visits but this was not a problem since we had a backup in working order. Both technicians kept us informed of their locations and arrived within the expected windows. Both were courteous, solicitous, and respectful. They were very careful in handling things and made a nice effort to clean up as they were leaving. We have been very happy with Sears repair services and will continue to use them in the future.
This time it was really easy to schedule our service—just s routine maintenance appt, as we were not having a problem. Our technician was knowledgeable, meticulous, polite, worked quickly, did a great job! The only oddity is that Sears has now called us 6 times—twice each evening—to get our feedback on the service experience, and there is never anyone at the other end of the line. We’d be happy to do their survey, but it never kicks in. Having two pointless interruptions during dinner each night has gotten...rather annoying.

The repair technician called in the morning with an estimated time of arrival and arrived at that time! He allowed my husband to watch and learn, and was very friendly, He took care of the service quickly and tried it out before leaving to make sure everything was in order. Our mower is running great. Great service.
The service tech was great. Fixed up my lawn tractor and it was all set. The problem I have is the $140 trip charge. Thats way too much and makes the bill a lot higher than expected. Sears should seriously consider lowering this fee. It’s ridiculous.
The service was very good. The repairman came the same day I called and was very professional. He had the part in his truck so was quickly able to replace it. He left the area clean and wore his mask the entire time.
Two technicians spent two hours doing a complicated repair on my oven. They were fast, friendly and very competent. And, they even took a quick look at my riding lawnmower that had quit and relayed information to the technician who was scheduled to come work on it. Great service!
I used the online form to make an appointment (refrigerator/freezer leak) - appointment was made for the next day; repairman arrived even before
the promised time slot - fixed the problem in half an hour, without having to move the fridge out of place ... he was great. He's been here before and also did a great job. We didn't have a repair contract but price was reasonable under the circumstances for his expertise!
I love my refrigerator; this design isn't made any more, so I was afraid it would have to be replaced but he saved it!

I found the service online after deciding the repair was more than I cared to take on. After reviewing the info I scheduled the repair for the following day. I admit I was skeptical that much would happen. To my happy surprise not only was the appointment confirmed immediately, but the tech arrived early in the day, diagnosed the original problem and repaired other worn parts at my request . I was very pleased with the great service and my equipment (snowblower) runs better than ever!

My tenants said they were having an issues with the fridge, and I have no idea how to fix a fridge...so I searched Google for "GE appliance repair" and Sears popped up. I gave them a call and they were able to get someone out there the SAME day (about 3 hours later).
The repairman gave me a call on the way over and he said he'd likely have it taken care of with the parts in his van. I gave him my debit card and approved repairs up to an agreed-upon price. He called me back within two hours and let me know he replaced the motherboard and all was back in order! Great customer service experience, although I wouldn't bet on same-day scheduling and repair...but I'll take it :)
This review is for a previous service (2017) which didn't post when I wrote it. It popped up now for my most recent service which was great! That rating would be 5 Stars.
First of all, the rating of 3 stars has nothing to do with the repairman who came. He was excellent, and resolved our issue. The problem is with the time it took to get a repairman to our house. A week, just for the diagnosis! We were without our appliance for a week! AND if we had needed parts that the repair service doesn't carry...who knows how long. The service contracts through Sears put you at the end of the line for service...they already have your money.
It was my annual inspection of my refrigerator/freezer. No repair necessary.
The Service Tech was perfect! But Sears itself could improve, since they did not properly prepare the Service Tech with the information that we provided on the work order...such as the D/W model number, the problem description and the actual broken part (which was obvious to us). Fortunately the Service Tech had the part in his van and he stayed on site until it was fixed! Chuck was thorough and professional!
Repair tech top,rate. Not only did he put new parts in my dishwasher, but he performed maintenance check much more thoroughly than I have ever seen any dishwasher maintenance check before. He took apart many of inside parts and washed away gook and grime therefore making a much more efficient working machine. Usual maintenance check is pushing buttons. I was impressed. Made me glad to have the maintenance plan, felt like I was in good and trusting hands, which is not always the case.
Yes your service people know their jobs.
You need to not post that a check is fine. Your service people need not to be in the money aspect. I work at the hospital and had patients scheduled and we arranged for a neighbor to be in our home. So I left my neighbors phone number. And they received a call asking them for their credit card. SO Wrong!!!!! Then he calls me at work and says if his machine does not work on the check and I do not give him a credit card number he will have to undo his work. Note I am in the middle of our check in waiting area and 50 people are dropping their jaws. And I am explaining I will run to the bank and go get cash.
I am bottom line going to look elsewhere for repair appliance service. All because you put you people in the middle of finance. He should take checks and make a night deposit. Or do take a card at time of scheduling.As for me my next appliance not at Sears. And service not happening.
My neighbors and my patient all asked me in waiting room what happened and I said I guess sears will take my check in the store. But my check is not worth anything . Nor would cash be good either. I do not use credit cards. I have plenty of money and if I do not have enough I do not need it.
So yes your service people Good job. Should not be in middle man. He was put in bad situation and my neighbor did not need to be involved more than just feeling good for helping a neighbor.
We had two issues with our washer. For both of them, the service person was prompt, helpful and friendly. For the first one he identified the problem right away and immediately repaired it. However, about a week later, we had another issue with leaking. The repairman found the problem after awhile (it was one we had had before a few years ago) which was a small leak in a one of the hoses. However, he did not have the part so had to order it. He put in a temporary fix until the part arrived. Once he received the part, a week later, he installed it immediately. So far so good.
Your technician was friendly & courteous. He couldn't detect the cause of the malfunction and consulted experts.After resetting the circuit breaker he ran it through several tests and if performed perfectly. I had never thought that because it's computer-driven maybe all it needed was a reboot.He didn't need to replace any parts but did say this service call could add up to $300, which could be avoided if I signed up for your home warranty. I agreed and he reduced the service call to $49.50. I paid for the first month. I have doubts if this warranty is worth the price, but guess I'm stuck with it. Is there any discount for paying in full at the beginning? You probably won't want to post this, but I have a lot of concerns about this deal.
Repair tech was very friendly and helpful. I do wish the sears pricing was more affordable. After the service tech left I found out that i could've bought the exact part we needed for $30 on amazon and I could've installed it myself saving us $240. It was maybie a 15-20min fix.
Sears-please adjust your prices to be more reasonable.
Very polite and accurate with the repair. After finding the repair needs with our dishwasher, the parts arrived very quickly and the technician changed the broken parts without a hassle. This is the third time the dishwasher broke (different parts each time). The service was excellent everytime. Overall, A+ workmanship all around.
The service tech was courteous and polite. He inspected my washer and dryer, and explained what he found and did. Scheduling is kind of difficult for me, since you need to be here for a 4 hour window, plus at least one hour before that to receive the call saying they're on their way. But as long as I can take the day off from work, I would schedule with Sears again without hesitation.
I was quite pleased with the person who came to take care of my oven repair and annual preventative maintenance on October 16, 2017. Roger (tech 0008789) was quite pleasant to deal with and seemed very knowledgeable about the appliances, and he was considerate of my property when doing the repair, which I appreciated. I am at a loss to understand why this repair could not have been done on October 5th, by another tech who told me "the repair was not necessary" and left without doing it, inconveniencing me by making wait around for him to come and do nothing.
Always professional, courteous and knowledgeable. We were sold the service warranty on all of our appliances and it has paid for itself in just over a year. None of these appliances were new and we knew they would need repairs in the near future. Thank you, Sears!
The Sears technician arrived on time and finished servicing all four of my appliances in less than an hour. He was very friendly, offered helpful advice, and answered all my questions. Thank you for the annual maintenance program.
Service tech Tom is awesome. He explains things to you so you understand what is going on with your appliances. The Sears / A&E service plan is outstanding. Whatever you have been doing with this, keep it up! Happy customer for over 10 years.
The onsite repair and the technician, were terrific. Professional and competent.
However, the phone call requesting the service was a nightmare. I was on the phone twice as long to request service than it took to actually repair the oven.
The person on the phone was reading from a script and giving me a list of trouble shooting steps and would not listen to my input- until I requested a manager. It was beyond ridiculous.
The repair service was excellent and the repairman was qualified, efficient and pleasant.
Unfortunately I cannot say the same of the Sears call center that managed to get information wrong despite receiving serial and model numbers, canceling then rebooking with the wrong service, dropping calls and routing them to the wrong number.
Unfortunate to have such excellence for repairs but complete chaos at Sears call center.
Tech didn't do a complete service check on the refrigerator. He checked the temp and nothing else. He did not even remove the front grill to check the coils and clean them. He took nothing apart on the dishwasher to make sure it was clean, only looked at the screen. Turned the oven on and stove burners on but thats all.
The tech we had in 2016 did a much more thorough job. The tech this year, David, is not a good representative for Sears service.
It was a maintenance visit on my washer and dryer. He arrived within the window of time designated, called beforehand, and was courteous and professional. Found a pen behind my front-load drum--that explained the noise it made when rotating! Luckily the pen never leaked, but maintenance visit avoided any future issues. The maintenance contract has been well worth the money thus far!
Keith was timely, as usual, and he took great pains to explain everything to us. Moreover, he went above and beyond, as usual, to submit his paperwork as soon as possible to ensure our being able to replace our broken machine with a high-quality, Sears-sold model.

The technician was great. Thorough and helpful! But BEWARE!!! - the folks on the phone were awful, after many calls they still can't get the name and phone number correct on the account - pretty basic stuff.

Called on a Friday and was scheduled for stove repair the next Tuesdy. Repairman arrived first thing in the morning diagnosed the problem and had the part so it went quickly and smoothly. Repair person was friendly and informative. The one drawback was the price. The bill was roughly half the cost of the stove for replacing the oven igniter.
Knowledgeable repairman. Excellent service. Received a call that morning with estimated time of arrival. Third time using Sears repair service, and Ill use it again. Saved me a ton of money, and it was done properly.
We were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. I made an appt. Online, was texted when the appt. Would be. Tony called about an hour before he arrived. He fixed our ice maker and installed a new circuit board for our Samsung refrigerator ( aparently this is a common " bug" ...and the new circuit board is meant as a long term fix🤞). Tony was polite, knowledgeable and fast! Would use them again for service!
My wife and I were very impressed with the Sear's service engineer. I think his name was Jerry but i forgot to write it down. His ID number is 0633495. He was professional, courteous, thorough and timely. Specifically, we were impressed with the following;
1. He called & texted to let us know his exact time
2. He started right in with our problem-oven bake and broil malfunction. He took off the drip pan and was able to start both bake and broil opertion, so we still don't know why we were unable to get these to work.
3. He explained the operation and operation of the gas/electronic circuits and how they might malfunction.
4. He explained the charges, he was able to provide us w the service contract T&C should we decide to go ahead w this.
Customer service is highly valued by us and differentiates Sears from companies that have similar merchandise but do not provide the Sears level of service. Thank you, and especially thank you to our service engineer.

My new garden tractor wouldn't run. The technician was great, very comptent. He had to make two trips because he was told to recommend a gas treatment product as a first try and to ask me to call if it didn't work. He knew it was a carburator problem so when I called to tell him the first try didn't work he arrived with a new carburator and installed it., 30 minutes later all was fixed.
My fridge and freezer broke and was not cooling anything off. Repairman came out and in 5 minutes diagnosed the problem, had the part on his truck and installed the new starter within 20 minutes. He made sure that the compressor was now cooling and made sure the air in the water line was not spouting air before he left. Great job!
Lawn Tractor (9) years old had carburetor / fuel pump go bad. Would not run. Sears repairmen Pete in Vermont diagnosed, ordered the right parts and came back and repaired my tractor. Very fair price. Runs like new.
Tom C was the service technician who handled my call. He resolved the issue with my washing machine quickly and efficiently. He also provided suggestions on how to maintain the cleanliness of the machine. He provided outstanding service.
The serviceman arrived promptly and was courteous and knowledgeable. Unfortunately he did not have the front tires that I needed to replace. He did however place a rush order and I received them in 2 days.
First rate! The little spring in our microwave door latch assembly had come loose. The door closure would not create a contact with the door switch, rendering the microwave inoperable. The errant spring was found, but the loop to which it attaches was not. Most repair people would have said, “Sorry — need to order a part.” But not Roger. With a mini-torch, Roger created a small hole in the sliding plastic anchor, attached the spring, and voilà! — back in operation. He then ordered a replacement assembly for us, just in case .... Roger exemplifies the difference between a technician and a mere parts-changer. Past experience with Sears repair (also sometimes starring Roger) have also been excellent.
Our service technician, Pete, was right on time, installation was quick and our fridge door now works perfectly. Previous calls with Pete as our tech were also very good. Thanks, Gary

The technician, Keith, was very knowledgeable and gave us great tips about using our washing machine efficiently, eg., amount of detergent, how often to use the cleaning cycle. He also was able to look at our stove/gas burners while here for a nominal charge.
Repairman very professional and polite. Removed his shoes before coming into the house to make the dryer repair. Completed the repair quickly (He had the part on the truck, which surprised everyone!!). Thank you Sears.
We had a maintenance check. All was done well and with great service from the Tech.
The serviceman was friendly, competent and efficient. He diagnosed the cause of the problem, ordered the parts and, once the parts came in, came back and repaired the lawn tractor. THe tractor has been running well in the month since then.
Randy was fantastic, patient and knowledgeable. He found the problem, got parts ordered, came back installed in no time. Great mannerisms and a bit funny. Would recommend him any time.

Tony was the repairman and he was fast, effective and informative--the latter was important because it will help us prevent a recurrence of the problem. We were also grateful to have him come on a Ssturday morning to repair the clotheswasher rather than have to wait till a weekday.
Technician was prompt and knowledgeable. Dishwasher was repaired quickly. We also received some good advice on getting the best from our model.

The repair man is good and really tries hard, but this washing machine (top loading, so-called high efficiency, computer-driven nightmare) just sucks. There are days I want to just take it back to Sears and kick it out on their front porch and leave it there!
