Marc not only came exactly on time, he was quick to diagnose and helped me with sealing the wall to prevent the mouse coming back in to chew through the supply line. We saw that the wall behind the unit was open and I cut plywood I had to cover and he installed and sealed with expanding foam I had. Our washing machine broke three weeks ago and we called S&S to come fix it and they still haven’t gotten the part to come fix it yet. Mark was terrific! Highly recommend using Steel City for all your appliance repairs. (a) He is the owner, so you don’t have to talk to anyone else. (b) He definitely knows what he’s doing. He is just one of those people who knows how to take things apart and put them back together properly. (c) He is old enough to have done this for 20 years, so you won’t have anything he hasn’t seen before. My problem was that the oven was not heating properly, and there was a slight gas smell when I tried to use it even though the stove burners were working perfectly. He diagnosed the problem just from that description, but took the time to take the stove apart to make sure he got it right. He had the part on his truck, and the whole thing took only 20 minutes or so. Then we spent another 30 minutes chatting about life and stuff, because he’s a really friendly and interesting guy. I would absolutely call him again if something goes wrong with any appliance at my place. You can rely on him.

This time was it my house on a beloved 15 year old upright freezer. Marc gets high marks for keeping his customers informed about their appointment, and actually showing up on time. I called Marc at 12:15 about the water leaking from our 6 year old Kitchenaid refrigerator. He was finishing a job early and was at our house by 12:30. Two “professional” extended warranty technicians had previously been unable to find the cause for the infrequent problem. Marc put his hand in the back of the freezer and said he could fix it without moving the refrigerator. The drain line was clogged and the drain pan had filled and frozen. Marc had immediately identified the problem and had it fixed in about 30 minutes.

Marc is awesome! We had a washer behaving so badly it was unusable. He discovered a couple of blown capacitors on the control board, and replaced them. This was key, as new control boards are currently unavailable- and many repairmen simply would have said the board needed to be replaced. The machine is still behaving oddly- but is now working! We can get clothes washed, though sometimes 'helping' it through some cycles. I count this as a win- and it will give us time for more long-term diagnosis of the remaining problem. I highly recommend his services!

We have used Steel City Appliance Repair at our office on a couple of occasions (for a leak coming from under the kitchen sink and for a refrigerator repair). Both times Marc has been great. He's knowledgeable, professional & friendly. He will also try to work you into his schedule on the same day if at all possible. He provides you with an estimate before he does any repairs. I feel his prices are very reasonable and his work is excellent. Would definitely recommend him for plumbing and appliance repairs!

I had a Samsung fridge that was having cooling issues and out of warranty. I normally like fix things myself but knew better since this was a Samsung appliance. A friend recommended Steel City Appliance and after a quick google search I saw that they had a 5 star rating with many positive user reviews. I called and made an appointment with the owner Marc. He came over, diagnosed it, and got it up and running while we waited a couple of days for the parts to come in which he installed once they arrived. I can't recommend Marc with Steel City Appliance enough! I am very happy with the results and relieved that I chose him to repair instead of trying to repair it myself. Marc proved that he is an expert with appliances and I would have definitely skipped some steps and ended up with poor results if i had tried this myself. Needless to say Marc was amazing, professional and on time both days he came. He also went above and beyond the parts repair to make certain we wouldn't have this issue again and was very reasonable with pricing. Thanks again Marc!

Marc came today on a one day’s notice to fix my washing machine . He did a very professional job on analyzing the problem and fixed it very quickly. He went directly underneath the machine to check the screw that holds everything together and found it very loose and needing immediate attention. He cleaned behind the washer and drier and did a great job. Marc has worked for us for at least 10 years and always has been so cheerful, patient and determined to fix the problems. I’m thankful that we have him as our service-pro! He also cleaned inside the glass door of my oven which I thought was ruined forever. We had an emergency the Sunday pre Christmas. Our freezer quit working. My wife had over 20 people coming for Christmas lunch in 2 days with a more than full fridge and freezer. I called virtually every dealer that advertised “24 hour service”. Zero help, zero. I finally reached Marc, owner of Steel City. Immediately, I knew I was speaking to1)an owner and 2) someone who truly understood customer service. Story gets better. He came out quickly-ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON, saw he did no have the part, devised a temp fix to get us through Christmas and advised us to schedule the company who normally does warranty work for our brand. Repeat—he advised us to use a competitor because it was in OUR best interest $ wise. Let me add, I mentioned our ice maker not being optimal. He stopped, looked at it, said it needed a new filter and cleaned. Said he would be back in morning with new filter, and show ME how to clean it myself in the future. This is the longest rec I’ve ever written. Simply, we will only call Marc for any appliance need. Professional, honest and customer focus all are good traits to us!

Marc did a great job repairing my microwave. He probably saved me over a $1,000 by getting the old one working without having to buy a new built in micorwave with a custom fit kit. Marc also let me know he could save me several hundred dollars on repairing the control board on my oven as it goes out every few years and it probably only needs a $5 capacitor instead of a completely new control board.

Marc is very knowledgeable, down to earth and forthright about the appliance issue at hand plus any associated costs for the repair. Here it is Christmas Eve and upon calling for help he proactively obtained the possible part in question, got here quickly, performed the diagnostics and fixed our dishwasher issue! No exorbitant holiday upcharge either! Just the normal service fee plus realistic part charges. In this world filled with large chain appliance repair companies do yourself a favor and go with a smaller local establishment. You won't regret using this company. As I just experienced you will be treated honestly, with respect and without a bunch of unnecessary additional charges just to gain extra profit. This is the third time Marc has come out to our house to repair a dryer. About 3 years ago he did his best to repair our very old dryer. He let me know the problem and that the fix he did may last for a while or not very long. With a slightly cracked dryer drum, I was happy to get it working at all. It started acting up again a few months later and when he came out the 2nd time, he was very honest saying it was best that we get another. Well, we did and fast forward to today, he was out here again repairing the NEW dryer. Marc was in and out in 30 minutes. As always he was on time, polite and very personable. If I ever have any appliance problems. Marc will be the first person I call. Thanks, Marc!
