Very knowledgeable staff. Absolutely no hard sell at all. Good selection of gear, both new and used. They have rentals too, which is why we were there most recently. The only negative is: no parking. So that can be a challenge. Last two times I was there I had to park in the neighborhood and walk about one block to the store. Not a big problem unless it is raining.

Stopped by because I seek out brick and mortar camera stores wherever I visit. Selection is excellent, prices competitive, and staff very knowledgeable. I like to pick out the slightly broken stuff so I can fix it up - or use it as is. Picked up a ten year old Canon DSLR, which is now the newest camera I own. Works flawlessly. Came with battery, charger, and memory card. Just splendid.

Amazing customer service! I reached out about getting some repair work done to a Panasonic S1H that has suffered a fall. Even though they do not service Panasonic devices (the OEM does) they took the time to do the research for me and point me in the right direction, even though it didn't make them any money! Great place to go in and get your hands on all the latest and greatest offerings from Nikon, Fuji,Sony, etc. Knowledgeable staff that is super helpful and friendly. They also have a great selection of bags,tripods, lighting & studio equipment, and accessories for everyone from the beginner to the professional. Be sure to check out their used gear selection. You can often find gear in excellent shape at a fraction of the cost of equivalent new equipment. They are also a repair intake facility so if you break your equipment they know what to do.

literally best customer service I've had at any shop (not just photo shops). I was beyond impressed. Joshua helped explain to me how to use a fuji camera and gave me insight on what I'd need for the types of photography I aim for. Was more than willing to let me get hands on with the cameras there (they have a variety of used and new fuji and sony cameras) and even got to test out the fuji x-t4 in low light in a small hall in-shop :)

I have rented numerous Cameras and lenses from Service Photo Supply. First thing is that the customer service and product knowledge is second to none, the team work between staff is excellent I can tell they love the field they are servicing. Product quality is yet again excellent I have yet to purchase an item and regret or not use that item. Josh has helped me since I first started shopping with Service Photo Supply and has been exceptional time and time again, this is the same for the many others who has helped me as well. Very pleased, if you haven't shopped here yet I highly recommend it!

Just relocated to MD and was looking for a local camera shop. After emailing with Kate regarding a sensor clean I went in on a fairly busy Saturday and was very happy with my experience. Kate and Jack were both clearly knowledgable, approachable and no hard selling. The shop had plenty of rental gear and used equipment stock. I will be going back on Monday to retrieve my camera body and look forward to a long relationship with this establishment. Worth the drive... just a note, there is no handicap accessible parking if that presents a challenge to you.

What else needs to be said about the preeminent camera store in the DMV area. I have been coming here for mini mini years and it is a HubSpot for professionalism and availability. The attendants are knowledgeable smart and professionals themselves. It really helps make your decisions so much easier. Burke is a very nice and cordial person who will help you in anyway possible. They do a great job on trading in assets as well. This should be no hesitancy with coming to the store. I appreciate the entire team.

Awesome place to get everything photography. Although don't rely on them to have all the most accurate information. Example: I called and asked to confirm that they only rent out Canon and Nikon. Cool; confirmed. I asked if they rent it out converters (I'm a %100 Sony) no they don't. Cool. I asked if they rent out external flashes and they said yes they do but only for Canon and Nikon. And I said well I'm pretty sure my Sony camera uses the same hotshoe size as a Canon. (I've used a few friends EF before- Canon) and the guy on the phone swore up and down left and right that Sony absolutely cannot use the same flashes. Well that's just plain incorrect. I actually just went to my friend studio and used his equipment just the same as he did and he has a Canon and I have a Sony system.. I have no issue with somebody telling me that they don't know but I have an issue with an expert telling me wrong information.

If you live 2 hours+ from Service Photo 📸,go there! They have everything you could want and if they don't , they will get it for you , right away. Huge amount of clean used cameras and lenses. Lastly,the staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable second to none and there are several to wait on you I can't say enough of good things about Service Photo. Also they are right in the center of a wonderful area of restaurants and too may "shops" to count,all kinds of goodies!! Go to Service Photo 📸 and spend the day!!

Super happy about my visit here the other day... Service photo came highly recommended by friends so I went there even though I live in Pennsylvania. They were able to help me decide which of a few cameras was worth keeping and adding to, and even told me to take the older rejects to Best Buy because they apparently have a collection for recycling purchasing rather than tossing it in the landfill. Super happy about an all-in-one collapsible tripod selfie stick that works with cameras and phones that I got there and have been using non-stop ever since! And did I mention that they graciously handled all of this, as a team, on a Friday, an hour before closing! Really great service and knowledge! Thank you all!

Okay I love this place I like it for professional photography supplies and the cameras they had but if you were an employee service a customer you should make sure that the customer has all the wiring and parts. they didn't give me a cord to charge my camera with I purchased for the first time I wish they sell complete camera sets and kits like Amazon the representative didn't even offer me one maybe because I was black and he thought I didn't have enough money What he should have did was she offered me that Canon camera with the built-in flash

I'm *very* impressed with the service I've received here. Not only has the communication before I decided to have my camera worked on been excellent, but also when I was in the store. I was promised that my camera, having been dropped off Saturday lunchtime, would be ready on the following Tuesday - it was, in fact, ready Monday just before lunchtime. In addition to the fast work there was no pressured sales tactics, and every single member of staff I've spoken to has been friendly & polite. Probably the best service I've received in any camera store, in any country or State (I've been to a few!). I'll most certainly be back.

The used selection is competitively priced and they usually have a wide selection of available items. New selection is similarly wide and the staff is great about giving you all the info you could need.

Service is a great place to go and a very important resource for photographers and even videographers in our region. The staff is informed and competent and helps guide you to the right choice based on your needs and abilities. I particularly like their selection of used equipment. My last big transaction there was buying a new Nikon body. I was able to trade.my.prior body and its kit lens. The whole transaction was done quickly and efficiently, and I was out photographing in about 15 minutes. I visit periodically just to see if there.is something new I didn't realize I needed.

From the employees to the owner, I felt everyone went above and beyond during the entire process. The owner, in particular (Burke Seim), was wonderful to work with. Excellent service!! My camera was in a car accident and I needed a repair estimate for the insurance company. The staff was very helpful identifying what I needed. For about $80, you get an estimate letter for the insurance company, which you can use toward the purchase of a new camera. My personal turn around time was same day, but your results may vary. The store is spacious and carries pretty much whatever film/gear you’re looking for. Easy to spot location with metered parking along Falls Road.

I was looking for a new lens for my Nikon D5300 and was not exactly sure what I wanted. We were visiting our kids in Annapolis and thought we’d try to find a camera shop close to them. Amazing but Service Camera is the ONLY camera shop left in Maryland. The good news for the consumer is it is an excellent camera shop. The man who helped me was helpful and informative and when I asked about trading my old lens in towards the purchase of my new lens I was pleasantly surprised at the trade they gave me. Yes, I could have got more if I’d have sold it myself but for the $50 difference it wasn’t worth my time or effort. If you need help with your camera needs, go there. It is a bit hard to find and the parking is a real challenge but well worth the effort. BTW I LOVE my new Tamron lens!

I did a lot of research before buying my last camera and Kate who was helping me still took me deeper into some specific things to consider. Also anyone who thinks their prices are too high should look at any other retailer --big box, online or otherwise -- prices are the same everywhere and have more to do with the manufacturer than the retailer.

The answer to any question is just a phone call away. Yes, the NY big box stores may be a little cheaper, primarily the sales tax, but the service provided is well worth the additional cost.

Amazing place - so grateful that we have jewels like this right in the neighborhood. I have dabbled in photography for a while and wish I had known about this place earlier! I went there for the first time recently to sell my gear, and they offered me a very fair price and saved me the hassle of having to try to sell it on eBay or pack and mail into KEH (don't bother with B&H! They really low ball you). The gentleman who assisted me is awesome. He is so knowledgeable and gave me great advice about my next camera. Unfortunately they didn't have what I really wanted in store (mainly b/c I am only interested in used gear) but they have an amazing selection of used and new gears. Highly recommend - if you are interested in photography and live in Baltimore you have to know this place - will save you so much time and money.

Service Photo Supply was recommended by a workshop leader so I made the traffic filled journey into Baltimore to find the store. The store was a bit crowded and the staff was in no rush to ask if I needed any help. Once I did start drooling on a case, one of the guys working there came over to ask if he could help with anything. I must say the man knew what he was talking about! He helped me so much, I found out I was looking for the wrong type of lens to get the results I was describing to him. When I look to rent local lenses or buy lenses, I'm definitely going back to Service Photo!

I've been doing business with Service Photo since 1972 when they were on Greenmount Ave. I've never dealt with a better bunch of people from Burke, the current owner, to his dad, Bill and his grandfather. This store is a Baltimore landmark. Whether you're an old professional or a novice, they will give you the facts on how to get the most out of your camera and beat the New York prices. If you're going to make a big investment in photography why not buy it from a dealer you can talk to, ask questions and feel appreciated. The only thing to remember it's not just the camera that takes great photographs, its the photographer.

There aren't many camera supply stores left in the area, and trying to get any serious gear from an electronics gear is a joke. I purchased a used telephoto lens with a scratch filter for under $250, and it works just like new. If you want the quality and inventory of B&H but want to see your equipment in person, Service is the store you're looking for. Definitely the best in Baltimore, maybe even Maryland.

Only shopped there once, but it was a good experience. I called around looking for a backordered lens and they were able to get one a few days later. I drove up and they had it waiting for me as promised, and the salesperson was very friendly. He did try to sell me some extras like a camera bag, but wasn't pushy about it (and I clearly needed one, the new lens doesn't really fit in my current rig). He also did something I never saw before and tried to talk me out of buying something because he felt I'd never get much use out of it. And he assisted me with setting up the new lens on a tripod to take some test shots with it to check out the quality before I committed. Seems to be a good place with a good selection of gear and knowledgeable staff. And they will ship to you for cheap, pretty much what the shipping service charges them.

Amazing place. I wasn't sure what to expect, but as soon as I walked in I knew I stumbled across something great. There about 15 people looking around, for a small place it was pretty full. It was very evident that "they" knew the field. Salesman was GREAT. I got to try on the lens before buying it which was great. They didn't try upselling me on anything, no pressure. Stop putting it off and go see the experts. I really hoped to have my broken EOS 5D repaired, but alas, 11 years and she is no longer repairable. I needed a new camera. The sales staff did not try to up-sell me on the latest model (which by the way is a more than my mortgage!).
