Our washing machine broke this morning and after calling All Star Appliance Repair, Eric called back in less than 20 minutes. We explained our issue and he said he could be over to check it out in the next 10 minutes while other companies we called wouldn't be able to make it out for several days. 10 minutes later Eric arrived, diagnosed our issue quickly and provided several options for parts and next steps. His pricing was incredibly reasonable. He never pressured us to use him for the repair and was friendly, polite and professional the whole time. We asked for his business card and will be calling for all of our future appliance repair needs!

Eric helped me to fix my dryer heating problem,he said control board is bad, then give me a link to order the parts, then come back to help me to installed it. but my dashboard is blank after he installed the new control board. wrong parts? he promise to contact company to solve this issue, but till now 3 weeks already no respond ,now matter i called him and text message,he did not respond to me.i really get tired for that. i spent $430 total parts and labor, i should buy new one. irresponsible!!!!!!!!!! update: Eric came to my house to fix the issue after i contacted him,so now dryer is working good, i will keep watching it. thanks Eric you fixed the problem finally.

Eric has repaired my lemon-of-a-refrigerator a couple of times. I've found him to be professional, honest, and prompt. He explains the situation clearly before doing the repairs, and doesn't up-charge. My compressor recently stopped working, and Eric refused to take a fee for the service call after informing me that the work was expensive and likely under warranty. Although he had squeezed me into his schedule in a day's time, and I insisted on paying, he declined. The tech came and did get my microwave working again however he charged us $99 to take out some screws and push back the latches manually. Something simple and he even said it was a repair that I could've done myself. "It's $65 to come out and diagnose it however if we are able to repair without any parts needed we charge a labor rate of $99 which includes the $65 to come out there." Had I known it would cost so much for so little I would've searched elsewhere. UPDATE: They have given a $35 refund to bring it back to just a diagnosis fee. While I still feel prices are a bit high I am satisfied with Eric's desire for optimal customer service. $65 for a fixed microwave and a simple tutorial on how to fix the same issue again in the future is good for me.

I needed to have my oven repaired and a couple of toggle switches changed (they were sparking and sizzling) so I could use my garbage disposal. After diagnosing the problem with my oven, Eric soon discovered that the part I would need was no longer available. However, he helped me find it online so I could buy it and he would install it for me. I received the part I needed in 4 days, and two days later Eric came back and installed the new part and now my oven works again. He also changed the toggle switches and I can use my garbage disposal and turn a light back on without the sparking and sizzling. I also needed a new garbage disposal installed at my grandmothers house and Eric went to her home and put a new one in very quickly (10-15 minutes.) She is so happy to have a functional garbage disposal again. We are very satisfied customers. Thank you again All-Star Appliance Repair!! Great customer service. Eric arrived early to repair my dryer. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Fair pricing. One of my best experiences with appliance repairs. I had an issue where my refrigerator stopped working. I called my home warrenty company who referred me to another company that was not responsive at all. I googled refrigerator repair. All-star Appliance was the first company to pop up. I called the number and Eric answered. Eric was very responsive and sensitive to the fact that I had been without a refrigerator for days during a heat wave. After getting outside authorization on Wednesday. Cannot express how smoothly working with Eric and All-Star went to get our oven back up and running in a matter of days, even when a major part was needed to be ordered. We used our home warranty company to try to get this fixed, and none of their contracted folks could even come assess the problem for two weeks. Luckily, we were able to convince them to allow us to find out own. Eric diagnosed the problem, had the part ordered, and installed it in less than a week, all while waiting on us to get approvals from the warranty company at each step (painful) and was reasonably priced as well. Fantastic job and highly recommend their work!

There is nothing more I appreciate from services like this than candor and honesty. The gentleman that answered my call 1. answered immediately which these days is hard to get 2. was friendly and knowledgeable and 3. didn’t try to sell me a false diagnosis to get more money out of me. He came, he looked at the washer, and immediately told me (unfortunately) it was not something I could repair but would need to replace the unit. Bad news, but at least he didn’t try to fiddle with the thing and pretend to fix something just so he could charge me a little something extra. I mentioned my bf was also having issues with a unit at his place and he diagnosed the problem over the phone and sincerely urged him to fix the problem before ruining the whole unit. Lastly I asked what brand/type of unit I should purchase and he laid out two excellent options that were affordable, and in his experience, lasted the longest. Overall superb customer service. I still had to pay $65 for the diagnosis and for him to come out, but that’s cheaper than the $99 I would have paid Sears to come out to do the same thing. The lead time for him to get to the house to complete the appt from the time I called was 48 hrs, another rarity these days. I’m waiting a week for other services to have someone available. Would definitely recommend this business and will call them again for future maintenance/repairs. Thanks for everything!!!

I called Eric because my freezer stopped working. He came same day, within a few hours of my call! AMAZING! I have so much food in my freezer and really wanted a same day appointment. He was able to diagnose and fix the issue in about 10 minutes and cut me a deal on price. He told me to then thaw out my freezer for 8 hours, plug it back in, and I should be good to go! I did just that and my freezer is working again. I also asked him if he could take a look at a dishwasher issue I’ve been having. Called "All-Star Appliance Repair" about a baking element not working after being replaced. The gentleman that assisted me over the phone told me that it must be the control board that was malfunctioning. He told me after I gave him my oven's model # what kind of control board I needed. I ordered the control board from Amazon and he even instructed me how to put it in myself. He could have easily come, did it himself and charged me for labor, but he did not. Needless to say the oven is now up and running thanks to his instructions. This act speaks volumes about the type of employees this company has and the great business that they do. We have two kids and two dogs, so when a washer or dryer conk out on us it's a huge deal! I made an appointment on a Wednesday evening with the Sears Home Repair Team and they couldn't come out to diagnose until the following Tuesday. So I found All-Star Appliance Repair online and the reviews were great so I called on Thursday to make an appointment. Eric fit me in the following day. He called when he was 30 minutes away, which was great because it gave us the opportunity to secure our dogs for his arrival. He diagnosed the problem, and since he didn't have the appropriate part he promised he would come back around 1 to fix the problem. He kept in touch with us while he was gone, constantly giving us an estimated time that he would be coming back to fix the problem. Well, he did come back to fix the problem, but it was even earlier than he said. He was gone by 1! This was huge because our children's nap time is 1pm and this allowed us to allow them to take their nap undisturbed by repair work being done right next to their room. I really hope I don't need any more appliance repairs, but if we do there is NO QUESTION who we will be calling - ALL-STAR APPLIANCE REPAIR FOR SURE!!!!! A technician, Russ, came to the home to repair my refrigerator just hours after I called with the problem. He showed quickly and in the slot i was given. He knew within minutes what the problem was went out to his VW and grab the parts. It have been 2 weeks and this refrigerator is working great. Eric repaired my refrigerator, which was not cooling properly, in April 2019. In July, it started having the same problem so I texted Eric back. He replied right away and sounded willing to help in text messages. He asked me to call so we could discuss the issue since it had just been repaired. So I placed several calls to him with no response. My text messages went unanswered. Days later, he randomly texted me that he would call in 15 minutes, then didn't call. I originally called him on July 18 and he finally fixed the refrigerator on August 2. In the meantime, I had to dispose of over $300 worth of meat and other items in the freezer due to this delay. He got the agreed upon date mixed up, then when he came the next day, he was an hour late, but the repair only took 2-3 minutes, literally. Having said that, he honored the warranty that was a few days out of date, and did the second repair (different problem) for cost, and gave a $30 discount if I agreed to write a review. Communication and reliability seem to be weak links with this company, but in the end it worked out, and my refrigerator is cooling again.

We had all star appliance repair an igniter module on one of the burners on our stove. They came in, repaired it easily, and completed the work with out cutting corners. We needed this done asap and they were able to accommodate our schedules. A couple days later, we noticed a different burner wasn't working as it was before the initial repair. They kindly informed us that they would be right back to fix the other burner. Turns out that when it got put back together, the distance was a little off which was causing it not spark. Eric and his partner explained everything thoroughly which I appreciate, and handled the second fix with ease. No charge for coming back. Thanks for your work. We appreciate your superior work.

This review is from services rendered in August of 2013. I had recently purchased my property and was having issues with a new washer that refused to cycle! Crazy! I googled appliance repair and literally called the first company on the list, which happened to be AllStar Appliance Repair. I scheduled online and was reached out by Eric via phone to schedule for the following day. He was prompt, and quickly got to work. The washer and dryer are stacked so together we removed the dryer to get to the washer. We noticed a couple of issues with the wiring that may have been caused by some unwanted pests. He suggested we order a new board and rewire. I had no idea what to expect, so I trusted his judgement and said ok. The part had to be ordered, so he scheduled a return visit to complete the repair. Upon his return, with the part in hand he decided to try one other trick to see if we can get the washer to work with the existing board. It was almost like magic because as soon as we plugged the machine in to see if his idea worked it began to cycle. He actually refunded me $60 out of his own pocket since we didn’t need the motherboard ordered. Now 2019, we had an issue with stove and Eric was able to come out and address the issue quickly and promptly. I will continue to use and recommend his company for all of our appliance related repairs.

I saw that this place had a lot of good and bad reviews, so I used them. I like that they have an online form so you don't have to talk to someone directly. I'm not good on the phone. Eric came the first day on time and told me that I didn't have the right belt for my washer. My total would be $166. My first appointment was Monday morning from 8-11, and he said he would return Wednesday morning to finish the job because he had to order the belt. I told him my situation. I was having guests come in from out of town for a convention, so I needed the washer fixed that morning. Wednesday morning, I called him at 11:30 because he hadn't shown up. He told me I was next on the list and my appointment was from 9-12. That threw me for a loop. One would think that appointment times would be the same for weekdays at least. He didn't tell me there would be a change in my appointment time, only that he would be there Wednesday morning. He finally showed up at 1:30. My guest had already arrived. He apologized for his tardiness, but didn't give me any sort of discount. I didn't have time to do everything I needed to do because I was stuck at home finishing my laundry for the convention and could not run errands while I waited for him. My guest had to tag along with me during my errands which I felt bad for. I wouldn't recommend them. This guy is supposed to be the best they have according to the reviews. If I hadn't of been in such a hurry, I would have turned him away for wasting my time.

To make a long story short, I had a bad experience with an appliance service company. Took $80, wanted to take more, and I cut my losses. I'm 90% sure that this was a scam. Eventually got my fridge fixzed by a second and then third opinion. Not a great experience. The next time I had an issue with my fridge I used All-Star Appliance Repair and I could not have had a more opposite experience. All-Star was forthright, professional, and reasonable with relation to price. They recently checked my fridge and said, The replacement parts will cost more than the fridge. Buy a new fridge. And then gave me numerous fridge suggestions and charged me a lower price for the visit because of this unique diagnosis. All-Star is officially my go-to Appliance service provider. (At least for my fridge. I haven't used them for anything else but if I called and they said, Yes, we also service X, they'd be my go -to for that, too.)

I moved from Baltimore City to the county and my movers broke my washer, I called Eric and he told me to try a few things first before having to come out and charge me a service call. Those things didn't work and I called him back and he came right out. All-Star Appliance Repair is professional, courteous, efficient, reliable, affordable and all around FANTASTIC! The door-lock on my Samsung washer wouldn't stay locked and my ice maker broke (so I thought.) I placed a call to All-Star and Erik answered my call. I told him what was going on and he scheduled to be out the following day since I placed the call in the late afternoon. When Erik arrived the following day he diagnosed the problems right away. He told me he'd already ordered the necessary part to fix the washing machine (since Samsung washer parts are so scares and so few distributors carry them) and told me all I needed to do was thaw the freezer out to fix the ice maker. Needless to say, he was right. Ice maker worked in 2 hours and he didn't charge me a thing for that. The door lock arrived the following day, he came and installed it. I would recommend All-Star to anyone who wants the job done right and in a professional manner. I will certainly use them again and again in the future.

Didn't have the parts for a Viking (understandable), so came back the next business day to fix it. Prompt and was great at communicating over text. My friend, though, did not have a good experience. So I didn’t actually have service done on an appliance but I did give them a call and I’m blown away by the full transparency and not just trying to take my money. I told them what was going on with my dryer, how old it was and what I thought the problem was. Eric came over to replace our Thermador Ice Maker over a month and a half ago. The Ice Maker hasn't produced more than 12-15 ice cubes over 2 to 3 days. Initially we thought there was an issue with replacing the water filter, which I followed through on and then figured out this wasn't the cause for the low production of ice. We ran into Eric at the local grocery store and he asked us how ice production was. We told him it still wasn't good, and that we'd be in touch with him. We've since followed up with him, and haven't heard back from him after 2 to 3 weeks. Eric was scheduled to come for a follow up on November 14th, but was a complete no show. Thoroughly unimpressed with the lack of follow up to make sure our $575 part was working correctly. At this point, I'm going to have to incur additional costs to figure out why the ice maker isn't producing much ice by calling another repair service. Update: Upon talking to Eric today, there was a miscommunication. Eric honored his 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and refunded the amount of the part for the ice maker minus the $65 service call. In the end he did come through on his word and just wanted to make things right. We wish him much luck in the future.

I noticed a burning odor coming from my washing machine and called both the manufacturer and All-Star Repair for quotes. The manufacturer's service fee was $125 simply to drive to my house and any work they performed (parts and labor) would've been an additional cost! On the other hand, All-Star Appliance charged a service fee that was applied to the cost of the work and the total cost for the repair was only $145. The repair team arrived within one day of my phone call, they were polite and professional, and explained exactly what needed to be done. Impressed I was thoroughly impressed by the service that I received from Allstar Applicance Repair. (BTW- I have never written a review for anything but could not walk away without sharing my amazing experience) They were able to schedule me for the day after I called- which when I called around to other places I had to wait for 3-5 days. Eric called first as I was told would happen. It didn't take him but a few minutes to figure out the problem. Unfortunately he did not have the part & said he would have to come back. I've heard that before & it has taken up to 2 wks for the part & the next visit- but not Eric. He stood in my kitchen & made a call to find where he could get the part. As we were waiting to hear back about the part he called his next customer to let them know he was on his way. He explained the repair and answered my questions. Today's visit was to fix my dryer that had just stopped working but I had them out in May to repair my refrigerator. This was hands down the best in-home service experience I have ever had, from any company, for any issue. Our refrigerator broke on a Friday and we had a neighborhood recommended repair man fix what seemed to be a simple problem, which he emphatically believed to be a simple fan replacement. However, not 24 hours later the problem returned. The neighborhood repair man, whose company name ironically contained the words "after hours," would not did not return my call for five days. As a side note, I attempted to call him during regular business hours, as well as "after hours." After moving the contents of my freezer into the houses of my friendly Rogers Forge (Baltimore, MD) neighbors, I searched the internet for a repair company with good reviews and stumbled upon All-Star. After a massive storm and the night before THE 4TH OF JULY, I was NOT optimistic that I would receive a call back. I was even less optimistic that if someone called me back, they would be able to come out within 48 hours at the least... Here is the awesome part... I got a call back within the hour, from a friendly guy who was willing to delay dinner with his family to come help me out. Now I know he would not always be willing or able to do that, but the mere fact he would come out the night before a NATIONAL HOLIDAY seriously impressed me. I was even more impressed when he showed up... The technician was friendly and from the start you could tell he was professional and knew his stuff. He was able to within one hour handle a problem, correctly, that the previous handy man was unable to properly fix within 2+ hours. I don't want to give his price because I think he should have charged me 4x as much for the service he provided alone, but I will say it was less than half what the first handy man charged me. There is not only no question as to whether I would use this company again, but due to their professionalism I would be fine having them there alone with my size 2 hot girlfriend. For you guys out there who need the significant other out there to handle this type of thing now and then, I know that means a lot....

The second time the owner even told me that he would recommend buying a new washer rather than taking money for an expensive repair. I opted for the repair due to time constraints on a rental property but I appreciated that he was willing to forgo a job just to do the right thing. No dryer heat: Initial repair was a replacement of a part. It failed and was replaced. Failed again. Was told it was their error. A different part was installed - it failed. It has been 15 days since the original visit. After 8 phone calls since 11/4/20 another visit was on11/12/20 and it seems to work. Problem appeared to have been a partial blockage of an internal blower fan.

They provided the fastest most efficient service I have ever used. I called many companies and they would not answer the phone or couldn't get out for weeks. I prefer to use local service anyway. AllStar was great answered the phone first try and Russell came to put the part in the washer same day. They seemed to have the operation under control. All I can say is I must be in the wrong business. If I treated my customers like all star appliance I wouldn't have a business. Made an appt. from 10-12 on a Monday. At 12:45pm after not hearing anything I called to inquire. Eric told me the tech had been delayed and the tech would call in just a few minutes to let me know when he would arrive. 45 min. later he called to tell me he was 15 min away. I inquired to where he was and he said Pikesville which is about 40 min. away. I told him I had to get to a meeting and would reschedule. I called Eric to reschedule. He apologized and said he would be there himself on Wed. between 8-10 am and would give me a 30% discount for my trouble. Wed. came, no Eric, no call, no anything. The next day I called and left a message and never got a return call. Called Jon at Eleet appliance repair in Dundalk. Totally professional and prompt. He had the necessary parts on his truck and was reasonably priced.

My dishwasher was making a burning smell. On a saturday morning, I called the company, and they told me they would be over immediately. For $65, they sent over two people, (including an apprentice), and quickly diagnosed the problem as a burnt circuit board. They then went on google, and showed that the replacement parts were two-three weeks from being available, would cost X amount of dollars to repair, and suggested alternatives. For a person completely unable to fix appliances, their rapid, clearly understood recommendations were quite helpful.

It's not like washing machines come with built-in diagnostic panels, so while it took Eric 3 visits to replace each part, it is like we have a new machine now at a low overall price (about $150.). The washer is about 10 years old, but still in great shape. So we didn't want to replace it. Eric attempted to save us money by only replacing one part of the timing mechanism. When that just worked part of the time to solve the problem, we called him and he was prompt to come out with a 2nd part to add to the machine. It still didn't fully fix the problem, but Eric was very clear in telling us to just let him know if the washer has any times of not emptying the water. It was sporadically still not emptying, so Eric replaced the 3rd part of the timing mechanism (again, super promptly) and the machine is running like new!! Will definitely use again for any other appliance problems we may run into at our home or at our rental properties. Thanks, Eric!

24 hour turn around, in a holiday week? Are you kidding me? NO, I AM NOT! I've scheduled Eric in the past. He's accountable and gives a phone call in advance of his arrival. Plus he can sometimes fix the problem the first time out with the parts in his vehicle.
