Courtney makes acupuncture easy and relaxing. We thoroughly talked through my health issues (not just the back pain I was visiting for but also things like whether I get up at night to go to the bathroom) and she had sound advice regarding dietary choices and whether I should see another specialist. I felt warm and cozy during the session and my back pain seemed to melt away. It was a gentle and memorable introduction to acupuncture.

Courtney is the best. I worked with her years ago and she worked miracles for me. Then she started practicing down in Des Moines and that was too far away. But I stumbled on her old business card and found she now has her own practice downtown. She knows her stuff. She’s helping me work through some carpal tunnel stuff right now. I was in a health crisis and decided to try acupuncture. Courtney completely eliminated my arthritis, severe low back pain, poor digestion in a matter of a few months. We've been able to taper down the treatments from twice a week to once a month, and soon I will only need to come seasonally. I sought treatment for severe back pain that didn't allow me to comfortably walk, arthritis in my hands that caused sharp pain and swelling to the point that I could not use my hands and was losing strength in them. And digestion issues (bloating) as I tried to eat a bit healthier (fruit and vegetables). I feel like I have gotten my life back-my mobility and the use of my hands! Courtney is professional, truly cares about my healing and has extensive knowledge to share. I have referred friends to her for other issues and they have confirmed she is helping them as well. From the moment I sat down with Maribel, it was clear I was in good hands. She took a complete history on my first visit and the treatment was once of the most relaxing experiences. Absolutely wonderful! I am terrified of needles, though I've had one series of acupuncture treatments a few years ago. With Eric Martin, I really had nothing to worry about, and I'm not sure I've ever been more relaxed during a treatment. I can't recommend this clinic enough. They even have dealing with insurance down better than any other provider I've visited. I'd give it six stars if I could and can't wait till my next treatment! If you use insurance +5 more stars for this clinic, if you are afraid of needles +10.

After several months of severe degenerative disc pain in my neck, back and arms, I made an appointment with Eric on the recommendation of a co-worker. At 50 something back/neck pain wasn’t new and I could usually get it under control with chiropractic/massage and PT. This time I was looking seriously at surgery. I’ve never tried acupuncture before and didn’t have an opinion on it one way or the other, but my co-worker was very convincing. I work in downtown Seattle and the GoodMedizen office location is very convenient. Easy walking distance or a short bus ride from anywhere downtown. First impressions; the office is a nice relaxing environment, the waiting room is comfortable with water and a nice jar of ginseng candies, all very welcoming. Eric spent time talking to me and developed a good picture of my overall health as well as the current issue that brought me into the office. Eric is an intuitive listener who asks the right questions and really put me at ease. He explained acupuncture treatment at a level that made sense to me and right from the start I had confidence that Eric knew his profession very well. As I proceeded with my treatments I continued with other therapies and Eric was well versed in the other disciplines of health care. More than anyone in my healthcare team, Eric helped me come up with a plan and attainable benchmarks. This impressed me a great deal. Eric looked at the whole picture and the goal I was trying to achieve. I received professional guidance and assistance as well as acupuncture treatment. Eric designed my treatments to address my symptoms and address my overall health. Always assessing what was working best for me. Eric was always concerned with my comfort level and checked to make sure I was in doing alright during the treatment. The acupuncture treatment itself is pretty amazing. When I first started seeing Eric my pain level was at a constant 7, with narcotic pain killers. I couldn’t sleep through the night and I was missing work. I’d see Eric once a week, and after each treatment I would feel just a little better. It was slow going for me, but I was working hard to avoid surgery. After a couple weeks, I could notice that I would start my treatment at a 7 and leave at a 4. Each week I’d feel a little better and it would last a little longer. Finally I got to the point where my pain level was completely manageable and I could get off the narcotics and sleep through the night. I am amazed at how relaxing acupuncture is. I spent a lot of time in doctor’s offices because of this latest illness and I usually ended up with “white coat” high blood pressure. I thought I’d try something, so when the cuff went on, I started thinking about how relaxed I was during acupuncture and amazingly enough my blood pressure would be much lower! The best way to describe how I felt after acupuncture treatment is a very strong sense of well being. The pain is under control and I’m getting my life back to normal, I give a great deal of the credit to Eric. I will continue to seek treatment and consul from Eric at GoodMedizen. Highly recommended!
